yes i did kazooies freaking out haha i actually ALMOST added that to this video (i saved an image of the legendary brown bear being hunted image to add to the video) BUT when i went to add MORE evidence of the leak it started to make the video go all over the place and I realized it was easier and more on point with how i really felt just to say "i could make another hour long video on further evidence" and how theres just no way its fake anymore so i left ALL the new evidence out and just went after the more interesting stuff which is the "insiders denying" and what was going on with "incineroar" so i kept that the focus cause i was already locked in its real.

Brilliant video, as always, Geno. I'm of the opinion that people need to come to their own conclusions about this leak, but that nobody should get hated for where they stand. There shouldn't be toxic debates because this game is coming out in just over a month, we'll know the truth of this leak by the next reveal, if people are right or wrong, hey-ho, it's a video game at the end of the day, no matter how much Smash means to people. Also, congratulations on that 20,000 subscribers man! I know you're focused on figuring out characters for this Smash, but that's such an awesome milestone for you to hit!

Never tapped so fast I’ve been so on top of this leak. I totally believe the leak is real. There are things that back it up too, the Sprout item from Golden Sun, Banjo being listed on Nintendo's site and Microsoft wanting him in, Chorus Kids were leaked along with Chrom during the Smash 4 days and now we have Chrom, Geno getting a Mii Costume with the newcomer splash art and the fact that they used the Forest Maze music while showcasing that Mii Costume. If the ballot was secretly made for this game, Banjo, Shadow, Geno, Chorus Kids, and Isaac were fan favorites for sure. Ken was most likely a Capcom suggestion (and don't forget that leaked image of Ken on Morray Towers), and Mach Rider is such a Sakurai pick. Everything lines up perfectly. I find this real because Mach Rider is SUCH an out-there choice, such a SAKURAI-choice to make as a playable character. I don't think any leaker out there even knew this character existed in such an NES classic. There's a reason Sakurai purchased that Action Figure which closely resembles Mach Rider. Everything makes sense it's just a matter of time now.

@Adam Evening dude there's actually a lot of proof of the leak being real. I'll name a lot. 1. The leak hasn't been debunked yet and we're a month and a half away till release. 2. There was a recent annocment weeks ago that banjo was coming to the Nintendo switch. In order for that to happen Nintendo would've had to make a deal with Microsoft to barrow banjo. This proves the copyright resets he mentioned in the video. 3. It was confirmed that Sakruai brought a mach rider toy. In the past he would use toys like mario or Samus to display how the character would play. He might have done that with mach rider. 4. Geno has been highly requested since brawl and Sakruai even wanted him in since brawl. The fact that we got ridley and king k rool shows how much he's listening to the fans. And geno again, has been highly requested. And 5. The grinch posters that were by the smash ultimate poster were never before seen pictures of the grinch according to the leaker. Fact is those exact same grinch posters appeared at a Nintendo event just 2 weeks after what he said which confirms his statement about the grinch posters.

@Adam Evening some of it is true from what you said yes. BUT I don't know if you know this but smash bros ultimate did begin production around ealry 2016. Which means characters were finalized by 2016 Geno for explain wouldn't have been revealed yet if Sakruai wanted to keep geno a surprise from us since he most likely knows that geno is highly requested. And btw yes spyro and crash are on the switch but they are not in this leak. I am going by characters in this leak and banjo has some pretty solid evidence of being in. This is just my opinion so you have the right to say what you say and I respect a lot.

It's interesting how since one E3, Microsoft and Nintendo have been working together on not only Minecraft ports, but console online interactivity , and a Minecraft 3DS special edition. People may say this leans more toward Steve being in Smash, but I see it as a part of a long chain that is set toward putting Banjo Kazooie in Smash Bros. It is a partnership after all. This is a great video that helps fill up some spots that I found off of odd. Thank you for sharing this discussion, and keep on making great videos!

Maybe that's why we haven't had any Smash-related news from Nintendo since the August direct (or September taking Isabelle into consideration). Maybe the plans for character reveals or even another possible Direct included Incineroar in some form, and since they got the rights to Banjo immediately after E3, that might have changed the whole plans for them, and so they've been silent in order to prepare everything now with Banjo instead of Incineroar, including having to "slow down the character reveals".

I want to preface this comment by saying that I'm not trying to question the validity of any of the sources stated in the video. But I think one thing that could use a bit more clarity is what the microsoft source means when they say they "heard about all of the characters in the banner." Does that mean that they heard insider information that all of those characters are in the game? Does it mean that they've heard rumors about those characters? Does it mean that they've all seen a lot of speculation about those characters that they felt was logical? This particular bit feels a little bit loose in terminology, so I just want to better qualify that particular statement, because I feel like it would change the context a bit if the information that they heard about those characters was speculative, rather than leaked information.

The best way to put that is the Microsoft source heard about Banjo, and had some form of proof, and heard a culmination of rumors and talk about everything else in the banner and incineroar. After the Grnich leak came out, the Microsoft source is believing it fully, but doesn’t know what happened to incineroar, the only other one not in the Grinch leak.

After watching the video, here some thoughts of mine: About Banjo: It actually makes sense! Why would Sakurai have to hurry that much and go back immediately? We all know how much he loves games and seeing the fans happy, he sure would have taken his time to enjoy E3. My only concern about this is: If Phil Spencer was always open about Banjo in Smash, why was there never a deal until now? We can all agree that Banjo scored really high on the Ballot and Sakurai must be aware of it atleast since late 2015. The only thing I can think of is that this was Sakurais only possibility to meet them in the USA. However he got the rights for Shovel Knight before it seems, so I still dont know what to think here. About Incineroar: This also makes sense. Incineroar was likely chosen later in developement and/or had a low priority for the reasons you stated. I dont think he will be cut but will be DLC. Would have preferred an ultra beast or Decidueye but Masuda seems to love Incineroar and probably begged Sakurai to include him. About the Square Rep: If both Geno and Sora join the battle (Sora is roumored to be revealed at the Game awards) it would make more sense to put Geno in the base game and Sora as DLC and reveal him on the big floor to get publicity and that Square will get Royalties on every purchase of him rather than a fixed amount of money. Considering everything sorrounding the leak, your sources and the leaked item from Golden Sun, it really could go both ways. No matter what the result will be, your way of reporting and analysing is excellent and I will continue to support you even if it turns out to be fake. Keep up your work, you are awesome!

Many people think if Banjo and Kazooie were in from the beginning that Phil couldnt say that he supported them being in due to an NDA. Melee: Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch Brawl: Pit and ROB Sm4sh: Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt Like I said, this doesnt confirm but it shows that Mach Rider could fit right in and even be unique. Especially since the only other character that fights primarily in a vehicle is Bowser Jr.

You're doing good work, PapaGenos. There will always be an inherent level of skepticism when dealing with the kind of "whisper down the lane" information that you're dealing with-- it comes with the territory and isn't a statement on the quality of your work. That being said, you seem to be doing everything that can realistically be done within that framework to get to the bottom of this. It is possible to do everything right and still end up at a wrong conclusion (ie, the leak COULD be a well-executed fake), but this channel has made me lean towards the leak being real more than any other source has. I'll personally never believe it 100% until we see the roster and know for sure, but your efforts have gotten me as close to 100% as I can realistically get.

If Incineroar isn't in the base game, he'll be there in a free update. There's no way they're gonna make us pay for content that should have been in the base game. People thinking this are actually the reason why Sakurai originally didn't want to give any DLC to Smash 4 beyond Mewtwo.

Some pretty interesting, but also conspiracy-ish, evidence is that one of the portraits has a weird cut in the exact same position where Isaac was in the leak. Some people have speculated that originally Isaac would have been shown in the direct, but due to the fact that Isaac has earth quake abilities and that there was an earthquake in japan recently, they thought it would be insensitive, so they delayed the leak and revealed a different character instead.

Honestly, if Incineroar was dropped, I don’t see him being DLC. Only if he was developed to near completion, but then why take him out in the first place if he was that close to being done (unless Banjo took his spot in some story mode or something). Just seems weird since gen8 will be out in less than a year, so they could just get a gen8 pokemon. We know that the Pokémon company has been working on the gen8 games for over a year now, so similar to Greninja, there would definitely be early designs for Sakurai to see. It’s not like Greninja’s outcome in smash was bad. In fact it was pretty successful. Pokémon generation timing is important in smash. It’s why we got a FRLG and gen4 pokemon in Brawl, not a gen3 pokemon. Same with skipping over gen5 in favor of the new gen6 rep. Sakurai picks a Pokémon for the up and coming generation, to hype it up, not a Pokémon from the previous generation that’s behind everyone. Repeating these patterns, we should skip over a gen7 pokemon because of gen8. Now gen8 is a bit ahead of smash release compared to the correlation between Brawl and gen4, as well as Smash4 and gen6. But now there’s DLC, so Sakurai wouldn’t have to worry about that. It would be smarter to wait for a gen8 pokemon. Just seems weird to add a gen7 pokemon when gen7 is in the past now. Maybe that’s also why Incineroar was decided to be the cut character
