Banjo and Isaac: Popular in the Smash Ballot. An item from Golden Sun is potentially in Smash, and Microsoft has openly stated that Nintendo is allowed to use Banjo in Smash. Geno, Chorus Kids, and Mach Rider: Sakurai has wanted these characters since Melee/Brawl. Mach Rider would basically be Ultimate’s retro representative. Ken and Shadow: The most likely echo fighters. Offer more third party representation. The characters in the Grinch leak just make too much sense.

I'm right there with you on Team Real man. The circumstances behind this mural reveal pile on top of each other to the point where the leak being fake is actually a more complicated result than if it were real in some way, shape or form. The thing that gets me personally about the mural itself is the lack of any renders that have been discovered for the characters. This is the internet and most fake leaks when artists create renders, they come forward a day or two later, show off the renders and bam. This hasn't happened yet with the Grinch Leak and given the number of extra details in these renders like Isaac creating grass, the conductor being with the Chorus Kids, Mach Rider's bike, etc, these are such Sakurai-like ideas that I find it hard to believe a random graphic designed thought all these up. We'll get a lot of people having a go at us for being Team Real, but it's a smash leak and in just over a month the game'll be out, so if we're wrong, we're wrong, it's not the end of the world. We've got valid reasons to believe that this situation is more than it seems after all.

Awesome idea: The two characters revealed in one video are Geno and Sora. They meet up kick some butt and then at the end Sora says something like "I'll see you soon, I've got some things I need to take care of first (aka KH3). Geno is in the base roster and Sora is DLC saved for later. That's why Sora isn't in the banner yet. I would lose my crap!

same....I just can't get my head around Chorus Kids though. Everyone else in this "Grinch leak" is among my most wanted fighters but Chorus Kids make no sense at all IMO ( Karate Joe is the face of Rhythm Heaven, the only character to appear in literally every RH game, the first character in the series' first minigame back in the GBA original and he just makes more sense in general ). Geno, Isaac and Banjo & Kazooie though are 3 of my top 5 ( the other 2 after eliminating de-confirmed characters are Shantae and Elma ) while Mach Rider is a classic character from Nintendo whose potential Smash appearance could lead to a reboot like Pit's did for Kid Icarus ( I'm thinking Mach Rider as the Mad Max/Fallout to BotW's Skyrim...open world, post-apocalyptic, customizable bike, maybe even customizing Mach Rider herself )

As someone who used to work with printing: if the banner leak is real and if Incineroar is indeed in the game, then the guy responsible for printing of this banner could've just been testing how it looks before placing one more character (Incineroar) onto the design, later another person working at the company just happened to stumble on the print samples and posted them on Snapchat. The only problem is that the Chad Ganondorf goes against Incineroar's inclusion.

I think that what Nintendo is doing here is sourcing out countless amounts of bait characters within the actual characters so that when a leaker gets their information from insiders they will say different things because they've been given different bait characters, but since they have also heard of another bait character from a neighbour source, they see that this character is also being fed out, and since a new gen 7 rep is inevitable, they trust that Incineroar is in as well as the other bait character with also hearing about real ones. These sources and leakers probably have heard of the banner roster before, but after that banner, they can safely say those aren't bait. I think this has really confused the insiders behind the scenes, and Incineroar was bait all along. *But hey that's just a theory-* *SMAAASHH theory!*

I believe Incineroar would be added to Smash Ultimate post launch as free DLC and here’s why. Nintendo has been pushing free post launch DLC for most of their games as of recent, kind of like we saw with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe earlier this year, Mario Tennis Aces with the characters, and Mario Odyssey with its costumes and Luigi Balloon minigame. So having Incineroar as a free downloadable character doesn’t seem too out of the ordinary for Nintendo to do. They can also use Smash Bros as a platform for advertising upcoming games. Maybe Incineroar being announced is a way of announcing an upcoming unannounced Pokémon related project. But that’s just my theory.

I don't think he'd be free DLC. (I do expect some free DLC characters, but I'm anticipating most, if not all, of them to be Echoes.) I think Incineroar is a safe pick for a DLC character, though. There's enough Pokemon characters in the game that the Pokemon fanbase isn't going to be super mad at a lack of new Pokemon rep, and the fanbase is large enough that they will be a popular DLC purchase. I could see some things being long-term free DLC (I'm not anticipating paid Mii Costumes again, for example, maybe excepting certain third party ones), but I'm expecting most stages and non-echo characters to still be paid. A large number of people will buy them, and most won't be terribly annoyed to do so, so there's little risk and a lot of reward. I guess the one way I could see Incineroar being free is if he was intended to be part of the main roster, but was delayed for time reasons. (Like the Miiverse stage in Smash Wii U.)

Perhaps a major Smash related direct will reveal all of these characters, and this poster will be used for an event shortly after, but before the last characters are revealed? And, I hope there isn't much more. Nintendo just accidentally leaked an item we've never seen before than may be related to Isaac from Golden Sun, too. Hurry up Sakurai and Nintendo.

This is one of very few leaks I have believed and for good reasons those characters have legit reasons to be in Shadow-Super famous sonic character and many want him Ken-He is THE echo fighter and makes sense as the next SF rep Issac-Has been reguested for a while by fans Banjo and Kazzoie-Same as Issac and there is your source saying they are in Mach rider-Every smash game since melee has had an 8-bit rep Chorus Kids-Cut from smash 4 so Sakurai could have looked back at the idea Geno-Has been reguested since 64 and Sakurai wanted geno himself I believe this is the ESRB leak for ultimate and I believe this leak

Holy fuck, that’s a dream come true. Hopefully Skull Kid is somehow in. I think we do need a new Legend of Zelda rep, and Skull Kid would be perfect. We can have the wooden duo in Smash: Skull Kid & Geno.

I met if it is a DLC character it makes sense not to have it on a physical banner even if it’s revealed during the same event and on the regular banner since it’s not in the base game.

There is so much confusion and chaos, its so hard to make any sense of it lol. Im perfectly fine with the banner leak being true. I just really, really, Reallllly hope Shantae is one of the few characters being mentioned among these "other characters" that could be coming later as Dlc. She's all i want to be playable

Honestly, at this point, I have no clue what to think with this leak. There's so much buzz around this leak my head feels like a beehive. On the one hand, GameXplain's second video about the state of this leak and when you discuss the history behind Eric Bricard pointed out Eric Bricard hasn't worked for the company that the leak supposedly is from said the dude hasn't worked there in years and Eric Bricard himself actually denied having any involvement with these leaks. So that makes this really confusing for me, because none of this really concretely debunks anything, as the leaker could have been impersonating or is just friends with Bricard and was trying to protect Bricard's identity. So all of this muddies up the leak tremendously, and while it doesn't debunk it at all, it does leave me confused to the state of this leak, as I said. But really, with how many people have sources saying they have heard stuff inconsistent with the leaked poster, I'm thinking it's got the potential for some things to be accurate and is just a fake with some things right, some things wrong. Or, possibly, the leak is 100 percent true, and someone just impersonated Eric Bricard to appear credible. All I can say for sure is I'm no longer leaning towards Team Real, but I'm also not leaning towards Team Fake. I had a cautious 50-50 skeptic's mindset before, with a gut feeling of leaning towards Team Real, and now I'm just flat out 50-50 across the board. I'm squarely on Team Shrug My Shoulders, It Could Be Real or Fake, I Haven't Got a Clue. 15:28 Conspiracy theory time here- maybe the two characters trailer is Banjo and Kazooie? Technically, they're two characters, even if they would be fighting as a team like Duck Hunt. And no, I'm not saying they'd be a Duck Hunt Echo or anything nonsensical like that. I'm just saying, of every fighter where two characters fight together like Duck Hunt, Ice Climbers, Olimar, and Rosalina and Luma, ONLY Duck Hunt always sticks together, as you can knock out Nana, the Lumas, and all the Pikmin. Or maybe they've got Microsoft sources and heard Banjo AND Steve from Minecraft. Either way, they might be hinting at Banjo because of Microsoft connections or have Square connections and Geno AND Sora got in. 45:05 Alright, here I'm actually just flat out going to say this is fake or an easy guess and people are going crazy thinking John from Gamexplain uses insider information as "predictions." I mean, the 3DS is increasingly becoming a port machine, so guessing Kirby's Epic Yarn gets a port... doesn't feel that unguessable. Neither does Shadow, really, since there's so much evidence already towards Shadow that guessing Shadow isn't there is the crazier thing. But honestly, all these characters are absolutely Sakurai choices, I agree with you there wholeheartedly. Isaac, Geno, and Banjo would have been major Ballot frontrunners for sure, so they would make sense. Mach Rider is a character Sakurai's talked about and Gematsu gives Chorus Men a good shot. And Shadow and Ken are absolutely Echo fighters, regardless of if this leak is real or fake. My one hold up that I have issue with is Incineroar very much feels like a character that wouldn't be leak bait, as we've had a new Pokemon every game, so I feel Incineroar's likely in and something is up with this banner. Again, though, there's too much that makes this leak strange that SOMETHING is real here, but to what extent, who knows? But another good video describing the situation. All I can say now, though... I'm ready for actual official news to clear some of this stuff up because there's so much to process that it just leaves me super confused on what is true and what isn't.

The real thing is that it would be dang-near impossible to fake that image. Just because of the way Nintendo changes the banner every time they add characters. They move them around, expand them to the edges, etc. It would just be impossible to move the characters the way this leak does. Since some characters are covered by other characters, the leaker would need the entire model of ever character to arrange them into this banner. Especially with major shifts by Luigi, R.O.B., Jigglypuff, and the Mii’s. Even then, just about every character shifted in some way, which would have been very difficult for just a basic graphic designer to do. Therefore, I can only see that image as being rendered by Nintendo. Love these videos, man, keep it up!

Microsoft recently renewed the trademark on Banjo with Nintendo listed as a partner and Nintendo UK updated the section for Banjo Kazooie for the time since Rare was sold to Microsoft.

Incineroar could be revealed during a direct for the Pokemon Let's Go games if they decide to do one. That would fit in with the whole "makes sense why they reveal a character when they do" thing. The Pokemon games come out a couple weeks before Smash Ultimate so it would be good timing.
