Considering the talk of a Cartoon Network platform fighter, CN Punch Time Explosion is sort of a precursor to this game and had a lot of the CN reps either conjoined into one character or separated to varying degrees of success (I.e. Billy & Mandy, Mac and Bloo). Might be a game to consider when discussing MV character speculation

My crackpot wishlist for multiversus Uncle Grandpa Scout (Tf2) Sam & Max Uncle Grandpa seems the most likely as he’s under CN, but I want Scout because he’d really fit the airy combat and overall nature of the game along with his skins being almost limitless with the games cosmetics (though I understand how valve treats Tf2 these days, they are not opposed to crossovers still). Along with that, Sam & Max are having a mini resurgence with their remastered games from skunk ape and with their previous association in Warner Bros. media (poker knight 2) I believe they are at least possible due to what they said about “third party characters” and imagining the witty banter they could have makes me want them more.

Billy & Mandy and Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi are the cartoon network characters I see better represented as two in one Billy and Mandy more so like Duck Hunt like they are in Punch Time Explosion, and Ami and Yumi as an Ice Climber deal Maybe Billy and Mandy could be like the scrapped Diddy and Dixie mechanic from brawl where they act like the Ice Climbers but swapping them out changes the moveset like Zelda and Sheik

X-in-one/swap characters are usually more technical, i'd imagine they're harder to grasp for casual players. So there's an argument to split fighters, but a the same time, there's so many CN characters that adding 2 (or more) for each series would take way too long. Either way you see it, the devs definitely have to make compromises

Glad to hear about the updates on MultiVersus, especially Samurai Jack, I'm looking forward to that and I could see him being added maybe after Marceline and Joker or even between releases if we're lucky, also on a female characters being added, they could add a Steven Universe character in like Spinal or Connie as a couple of examples, heck I'm one that really wants to see the main three Crystal Gems being added as fighters to MultiVersus, we have Garnet, now we need Pearl and Amethyst to complete the trio and Steven, other than that though I just want MultiVersus to last a long time to the point we have a roster of various different reps that could rival that of Smash Ultimate, that would be awesomely wacky and I'm all for it.

Sometimes I wonder if MultiVersus would have been better off if the roster was more focused on Cartoon Network. Not only would we get more Cartoon Network original characters, but I also think they could keep the DC, Hanna Barera and Looney Tunes character since all of those were major parts of the channel. It would probably mean the live action characters like those from Game of Thrones would be cut, never seen the show, so it wouldn't bother me that much. Not sure if Adult Swim counts as Cartoon Network, so I don't know If Rick and Morty would be cut. Same thing with Toonami, but if it not, then probably no anime characters which would be a real shame. What everyone else think, is the MultiVersus roster better with a more open net, or should it have been a Cartoon Network platform fighter?

I would've loved if the game started off with more Cartoon Network reps tbh. As much as that pisses people off. Usually, people keep saying, "tHiS IsN't a CartOOn NeTwoRk PlaTfoRm fiGhTer". People just need to realize that's what most people want, lol. I like the Gremlins movie, but let's be honest, those characters should've been saved for a later date. One of the biggest issues is the roster choices. It seems like the devs are mostly just putting characters that they want in the game instead of listening to players.

I’ve thought the same thing, having a pool this big divides the fanbase a bit with which characters people are hopeful to see get added, and if characters aren’t releasing quickly than your chances of getting who you want anytime soon are very slim. In a CN only fighting game your chance of the character you want being next might be like 1 in 100 but in a WB fighting game it’s more like 1 in 1000 cause there’s so many more options they could go with. And I think people lose interest or aren’t as invested when the chances for what they’re interested in are slim. Some people want looney toons, some want CN, some want DC characters, or maybe someone’s waiting on a specific game of thrones character or Steven universe character etc… it’s too big of a pool unless you’re interested in every franchise the game has. And unless characters are releasing very quickly it’s tough to get a lot of people to stay interested if many only like one or two specific series/franchises and not EVERYTHING WB has.

@PapaGenos I've seen some people on Twitter say that they wish we could get a sequel to Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion. This game is the closest thing we'll ever get to that because I doubt we'll ever see a standalone Cartoon Network video game ever again. I even saw someone tweet that they want a remake of Cartoon Network Racing. We'll probably just end up getting a Multiversus Kart before we ever get a remake or sequel to Cartoon Network Racing.

I think what worries me the most is budget. We have a lot of potential things to look forward and be hopeful for, but just like some other games I’ve played, some stuff can get shelved easily due to lack of game audience and funds. Im quite worried WB may reduced how much resources the Multiversus team can use. If I’m wrong or something about this concern, do feel free to correct me

Same here dude, Shazam could work in MultiVersus, being basically a tank with being able to grant a "Shazam" buff to allies where they receive shock, speed, defence, power buff, that's how I can picture him, maybe not the overkill Uber Buff for Shazam that he grants, but none the less, power and shock is definitely on the table for him.

RWBY’s technically isn’t an anime, but I do think RWBY should get into this game due to all the potential the characters from that series have. You also mentioned new female characters and non datamined characters, so Team RWBY makes sense
