Tom: “You could get an IT job” Boogie: “I’m not qualified” 10 minutes later “I used to do coding and web design as a job before KZbin”
@lilbubz2803 Жыл бұрын
@Fondue The point is that he's familiar with IT work and has proven he has the capacity to learn difficult IT related work. Not everything around a remote IT job is coding related. He could literally just work as a data administrator. He refuses to do so because 1. He is lying about being broke and makes enough money to support himself already. 2. He is just lazy and does not want to get a job. "I'm unhirable" dude hasn't applied for a job in years and has the audacity to say this. Write some CV's and prove you are unhirable before you beg your audience for money with your thousand dollar arcade machines behind you.
@rosalina2773 Жыл бұрын
@Fondue true but he absolutely could learn new skills if he wanted to. I have a friend who has NEVER been to college. Learned everything he knows online. He’s currently the lead of an IT team (after working 5-6 years or so in the department). Computer skills are something you definitely do not need a degree for if you can just prove you’re competent. Boogie just doesn’t want to, which is fine, but he needs to find something because content creation is clearly not it for him anymore.

It’s not terribly exciting but it’s a decent stable job for a lot of people.

If he does have ADHD, one of the absolute worst things he could be doing is sitting at home 24/7 online. COVID lockdown absolutely fried my ADHD brain and made me addicted to overstimulation bc there was nothing else for me to do. Having a regular job and forced obligations again made a huge difference. His claim that’s he’s unqualified is a huge cop out. You can become qualified. It’s not like he’s 80 years old. He’s young enough to still learn new skills within reasonable expectations. I tried meds but it is not a magic fix. I still had the same problems because it takes actually intentional work to change your brain, not a magic pill. Boogie is wallowing in his situation instead of taking any of the steps to actually retrain his brain. He’s waiting around for a magic fairy to come and fix him bc he doesn’t believe it’s possible. I think a lot of us have this problem. Even past when your frontal lobes form, you can still make new neural connections. You can still change your physical brain through intentional work. A lot of people just give up hope and think how they are now is how they’ll always have to be, and it’s not true.
@titaniumcranium37554 ай бұрын
I'm not ADHD but even I fell victim to overstimulation during covid. The amount of x rated videos i was watching and videogames I was playing was so unhealthy. I was 15 when covid started bad and It absolutely destroyed me socially and academically. Now that I'm 19 in uni with a well paying job, I understand that life is about constantly being busy so that you can reap the benefits of long term success and enjoy your break! Something I'd expect a 50 year old man to know by now.

The way Boogie talks about delusions is infuriating. Nobody with delusions would parade it around like a badge of honor. It’s fucking embarrassing having to explain to your friends and family why you act like an insane person from time to time. A truly delusional person also wouldn’t say “I did this because I’m delusional,” because most of the time, they don’t think it was a delusion that made them act that way. Boogie saying “I did this interview because I’m delusional,” completely contradicts itself.
@ZeallustImmortal8 ай бұрын
Also the fact that one of the required factors for somebody to qualify as delusional is to be completely unaware that what theyre thinking is a delusional. If you say "im doing this because im delusional" you are by definition not delusional in thay moment. The only delusional thing about Boogie here is that he legitimately thinks that bragging about being delusional will change anybody's perspective.

Boogie has spent years of his life self enabling a life of scumbag behavior by searching for reasons to convince himself and others that he has no say in the matter. Boogy brings up his "unique experience of living with delusions" to credit and perpetuate his self inflicted mindset. And he brings up toms lack of delusions to discredit toms ability to contribute insight. ...We later learn that to boogie a 'DELUSION' is getting caught blatantly lying and being deceitful to get what he wants like a spiteful scumbag. "The delusion was thinking I wasn't going to get caught" Boogie tried to convince people tom was racist like a spiteful scumbag. Ah, whattya know, boogie attributes this as the product of a delusion. The reasons he listed for not "being able" to work are the same reasons everyday normal people don't want to work.

Twenty years ago I was diagnosed with bipolar, been hospitalized for it a couple times since. My son is autistic. We are both “gifted” intellectually. And so what? What does that mean? Growing up, I saw the pain that my son dealt with when he found it hard to make friends. It hurt my heart deeply. And so I made sure to tell my son: our illnesses, real or perceived, are not our identities. Now, my son and I laugh. I call him a retard and he calls me crazy. WE determine who WE are, not some bullshit word like “retard” or “crazy” or “high IQ.” I suppose my question is: what’s wrong with being retarded? About as much as being “gifted!” Just a thought - some people truly DO think differently (same reason I got in trouble for saying “Jesus!” lol).
