My lovely wife passed away suddenly yesterday morning last night I couldn't sleep so I jumped in my truck to go let off some steam plugged my phone in and opened KZbin and this was the first song that was on suggestions. Please reach out to someone who can help you work through this. It does not change overnight but with time, and the support of people you trust, maybe a teacher from school or a support group with people your age who are going through similar stuff,. Please try hard to not shut out those who love you and are trying to help you. As someone who has been there, listen without judgement. A listening ear who doesn't invalidate your experiences is one of the greatest ways I felt help. Make sure you have someone for your mental health too. You can't pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself in a healthy way can help you take care of your daughter and help her see a healthy way.

I just turned 40 now and it still hurts dearly to this day. There are days where it's hard, these last 10 years and I've always tried to be strong and handle things on my own but the thoughts slip in from time to time. When I'm driving, wondering it I just...let go, would it matter? But then I think of her, I think of how it made me feel throughout the years, how I saw her family and friends feel, how everyone just wished and hated themselves for not doing more or being there when she didn't give them the chance. You might think you are worthless, you might think everyone is better off without you, but you are wrong. Talk to someone, seek help, there is no shame in it. Find your light Sarah.

We’re coming up on 1/4 century since “Last Resort,” dropped. Jacoby was singing about his demons and so many of us understood. Now he is singing “Leave a Light On.” Talk about full circle. I expected Papa Roach to be a one hit wonder and Jacoby to fizzle out after succumbing to his demons. Well he didn’t. He looks great. He performs with his son. He helps artist make it. He is the opposite of that angst ridden guy singing Last Resort in 2000. This is beautiful. I’m hardened by life now, and barely ever show emotion, but this got me, almost. Definitely had “goosies,” like Ronnie’s cover of “Last Resort” gave him. He is absolutely Papa now. We have no choice but to look up to a man like this. Full respect. Unbelievable. I suffer from severe depression, have most of my life. My mom was also diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last July and almost died in December of a cardiac arrest during chemo treatment. I’m the mom of a 22 year old son who has paranoid schizophrenia and an 18 year old son with bipolar II disorder. My 18 year old is on the milder side and is a straight A college student blessed with a photographic memory. My 22 year old son has a lot of struggles academically and developmentally but he did graduate on time and is in our local community college. His strength is art and he works hard. I don’t know what their futures hold but my husband and I are with them every step of the way. How are you doing with your bipolar I? You and your mom are in my prayers too.

This song.... I was listening to this sonh on my pandora when my heart and gut were screaming for me to rush to my friends home. I not gonna lie, I didnt stop speeding. When i pulled up to her place, slammed on the brakes and immediately ran inside. My heart wrenched as I saw and took action, ending up saving her from that last moment.... I am so very sorry for your loss and pain. My dad took his life in 2000, 23 years later and I still don't know why or understand what he did it. He has missed out on so much, so many grand kids!! And watching all of us grow up. I've struggled as a tenn and young adult with depression and suicidal thoughts and actions. So I know how dark it can get, but I can't understand why he gave up. His single action set in motion horrible things . I was barely 16 , and it wrecked us all. My mom decided she couldn't be a mom anymore so my younger siblings went with their dad and it ruined them. We all are still pretty angry at each other for how we all dealt with his death, separate and alone. I turned to everything I could to be numb, (sober now!) If I could give any advice, it'd be to get help, family, individual counseling, support groups even. Don't let your family fade away from each other thru the grieving and dark days. Yell, scream, cry , hug do it together not alone. Suicide isn't just a death, loss of someone you loved. It's so much bigger and so many complicated emotions and you have to let yourself feel it to get thru to the next day. If you are close with your family, make sure y'all stay close. It's hard and some days you really just don't want to care about other people's emotions, for me anyways 😂 I am sorry if I over stepped or said to much. And I am very sorry again for what your family is going thru. ❤❤

I battled depression and suicidal thoughts for decades. I was so lost in the heaviness of my own thoughts that I couldn't express how I felt. I lacked a solid support system and I also lived in a country that didn't have mental health services (or believe in them). I'm thankful that I had music though, because it got me through some very tough times (ands like Papa Roach, Disturbed, Linkin Park, etc). The lyrics in the songs and the anger they were sung with spoke some of my truth and helped me get out a lot of my pent up anger and frustration. Life has come a long way since, I've been living in the US for a long time now and I have a husband who is my absolute rock...plus I've had a lot of therapy and medication to finally get me out of the darkness. Life is better now and my heart & mind finally know peace. I've known what it is like to be in the depths of despair...it was like being in a deep dark abyss and I kept climbing and climbing. Sometimes I would almost make it to the top only to slip and fall right back to the bottom. Goodness knows it took me forever to finally make it to the top and climb out of that darkness, but I made it and I knew others could do if they had help. Four years ago I felt the calling to help those lost in the dark, so I applied for a job at my local suicide hotline. I am still at that job now and we get thousand upon thousands of calls, there are a lot of people still in the dark, but those of us that have made the journey will be there for you now, holding our arms out to help you when you stumble. ❤ (BTW, you can also text 988)

Absolutely been down there, It's always better having someone behind you remember we are Never really alone, God-Jesus forgives and saves us, It's a free gift We only need to ask, Because I was helped when things got rough, But now I'm just blessed, I wish that for everyone struggling with there own Monsters especially Addictions to hard street DOPE, It's Hell for real after about 8-10 Years, But it's NEVER too late I'm living proof, Trust me it's harder doing it alone, Buy You simply don't have too. This song definitely hits me in my heart because I used to think about taking my own life and then realizing that I wasn't alone so I got help. Anyone else out there that is going through the same thing should know that you're not alone in your struggles because you don't have any idea what this world would be like if y'all weren't in it. If anyone is ever struggling with mental health issues that make you think or feel like ending your life, I encourage y'all to get the help y'all need because life really is worth living despite its challenges and circumstances. This is one song I highly recommend listening to when it comes to knowing that y'all are never alone in your battles.

A few weeks ago I came across this video and I watch it every single day. I recently lost my husband and whenever I listen to this song I feel it's him talking to me through the lyrics. I have been in a very low place in my life and this song has not only saved my life but been a beacon of hope for me that even when I"m in the darkest times of my life there is always someone there to Leave a light on for me.
