My wife passed away on 6/10/23. This was always our favorite song you did. She had an amazing version on acoustic she'd play, when she could, it was very hard for her too. She had a very hard and tragic upbringing and this song just hits all those feelings. Thank you for this song. Thank you for those memories. We were lucky to see Slipknot for the first time, for both of us, the last time they played here in Seattle at Climit Pledge Arena. We knew you wouldn't play this song but you did and we swore you played it just for us. It was like no one else was there, just us 3. You're amazing Corey, if you ever see this, Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. This song has brought so many good memories and now I just cry when i try to listen to it. It's mostly happy tears. Much love from Seattle WA

I think it's because this intro is slightly different that the official album/single version. I can play the guitar (a bit) but i don't know the name of the first chord played here, or the name of the first chord played on the official version, but they are definitely not the same chord. This one is higher in pitch than the original. If it was the original chord that was played, they would have known instantly. Well, the die hard fans would have, anyway. I could name any Slipknot song for 1 piece of music before .5 The Grey Chapter. After Paul died and Joey was fired Slipknot were never the same for me. I'm looking forward to their new album, but i miss Paul and Joey so much! Joey is the person who made be obsessed with Slipknot. I was learning to play the drums and a friend gave me a Slipknot tape (yes, a cassette tape! lol). It was 1999 so the tape was their self titled album Slipknot. I was just blown away! And been hooked ever since! I met my GF through Joey and my 2nd daughter's middle name is Jo, names after Joey.

Exactly. I think it's the modern "Tears In Heaven" and the only real difference is that the emotional baggage comes from different places in this song, whereas we all know why the other is sad. It's like Corey gets reminded of everything hard he's been through during this performance and it connects to the pain of everyone listening, the way his voice breaks into a pained growl during some parts is the saddest shit I've ever heard performed.

Yep. I got into Slipknot about 2 decades ago when I was a kid in junior high. As I got older my musical tastes changed and morphed (and sometimes disappeared entirely)... but there are those few songs that come out every few years... in loss, darkness, tragedy, and sometimes in healing. They sit in that “🔴 PLAY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY” playlist in my Spotify account. Like a group of friends I hope to never need ever again, but know they’ll be there when I inevitably do... waiting to teach me things or make me realize something I’d never learned before. This song is up there.

He might honestly have one of the best voices in music. I had no clue, never heard him acoustic solo before. Incredible, he should do a lot more of this.

Corey is an emotional dude, when he sings his pain, anger and love comes out. I'd imagine it would overwhelm him always pouring his heart in performances.

I love the fact that after every passing line and verse, his voice goes on to become harsher and harsher. It's like there is so much anger and pain inside him and they come out in layers. And when they come out the voice gets stronger, the strums get wilder and the lyrics get darker.

Being as I can relate 100% to this song, I've listened to it for the last decade a million times, to find this a few years ago. By far one of my favorites. I'm trying to convince my dad to play it on on the guitar and me singing at his church. Time will tell

While I'm glad you chose not to do it, I'm confused how this song connects to that. What does a song about tortured anger at someone who betrayed him have anything to do with suicide?
