Note from a native English speaker from New England (North-Eastern USA): Apologies: We don't say *"I was in the wrong" or "ever so sorry."* I've heard *"I'm so very sorry"* but it's a bit... weird-sounding. *"My apologies"* is a formal apology. *"That wasn't my intention"* is used to say that you meant well (had good intentions) for doing something, even though the outcome was bad. *"Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?"* The phrasal verb "to make it up to (someone)" means doing something to make the person feel better after you did wrong by them. *"I can't believe I did that"* is another strong apology. Saying that's alright: *"We're cool"* is a casual way to say "we're good." *"Let bygones be bygones"* is a phrase asking someone to let an issue go. Along with "that's alright", we also say *"that's fine"* , *"you're fine"* , *"you're good"* , or *"don't worry about it"* . *"Forget about it"* (pronounced "fuh-getta-bout-it) was more popular a few decades ago, best known in New York city accents. Edit: Typos

This is my first comment in this youtube channel. I have to say thank you for your work Aly. Really appreciated from an Italian guy who try to learn English and try to improove the skills in listening and conversation and in grammar too. After that... Only me in the sentence "No harm done" without the "h" in a quickly conversation understand "No I'm done" instead of the true meaning? And P.S. in italian, the sentence: a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, means that a long time has passed from a certain event.

"It's water under the bridge." has a French equivalent : "L'eau coule sous les ponts." (litterally : the water flows under the bridges.) meaning that with time, anger vanishes. It comes under different shapes : " de l'eau est passée sous les ponts." or "de l'eau a coulé sous les ponts",... Actually, you can use the expression with the tense that fits your situation. But two ways are possible, the use of "couler" (= to flow) or the use of "passer" (= to pass)

The point is when someone is able to make a mistake making a hard hazard to your lovely pet, that person is not able to say at least My bad... But those who are really able to ask for your apology, - those people will every time say with real tears something like I should not have done that, I hurt your feelings - and all that for just a little mistake. And that is about any of languages because of that the issue of our consciousness is too much deep... And that was a great lesson!
