yes the questions were ok but i think time pressure was the main issue; i've never seen a paper with 16 questions and most people i asked (including me) were unable to finish

i also think when ur in an exam, we tend to complicate stuff and under pressure alot of people struggle, so the exam board should’ve been considerate about that and the fact that we haven’t sat ‘proper’ exams before

Parametric integration has still not been listed on the spec. Most schools have the first edition of the textbook and parametric integration is not in this book. I rang the board in 2017 to ask if parametric integration was on the spec and they did not give me a satisfactory answer. I taught this to my students anyway. To add this as an appendix to the second edition of the book is not acceptable - I am wondering if that was as a result of my phone call.- and it still has not been added to the spec. At about the same time ie 2017 I noticed that hinges were not in the Stats and Mech book. I rang the board to query this and ask if hinges were on the spec. Again I teach this anyway. When I wa# teaching my private student several months ago I noticed that his edition of the textbook was different. It has two examples on hinges and three questions on hinges, nine of which were in the first edition of the textbook. Again I am wondering if this was prompted by my phone call. Serious omissions from the books. Not acceptable as most schools bought the first editions of the books.

They did seem to rush production of the new books and schools bought them. They were sending out modification as page inserts but did also send out new books for free as an option if schools wanted them. I'm wondering how many schools actually knew that they were replacing books ??

As a further maths student, I found it okay, obviously I had an advantage taking two maths subjects. I’ve noticed from taking both edexcel maths and further maths, edexcel is putting 2 questions more than I would’ve thought. The biggest issue was time in my opinion.

What I noticed was if u look at the advanced information and how many bullet point for each paper was how many question, which worked for maths paper 1, I also did further maths but I struggled a lot on further maths than normal and the same with the amount of questions on Further maths, how many bullet point decides how many questions

@@nahid2281 imagine doing a binomial expansion with 16 questions, if you do that first, you're wasting so much time doing that and assuring you are correct rather than doing simple 2 or 3 markers by stating for e.g range of X values or y values when finding an inverse function in a formula (which I believe could come up as well?) And other questions withing the one or 2 mark region or 3 by stating the obvious could tally up to more marks than what you would get in spending alot of time to check your binomial is expanded right, becuase imagine doing that and you're unsure that it would be correct by the end of it, you mess it up, that time you wasted on it would be for naught. Which is why I'm probably going to move to the parametric differentiation question immediantly when I go into the paper, as I need that to be on top of my head and not lose that information while wasting good time in the first 2. Maybe that topics would stay fresh if you do those ones first under exam pressure, using your time to read the last questions or complex looking ones to you And then coming back to modulus and stuff like that at the end. It seems time management could be a way to achieve our best results? So in summary save simpler questions for last, complex ones first. (But honestly easier said than done) But we have been given an advanced information list, we could use that to our advantage to when we are revising until 1:50pm, to revise the very difficult ones to us, go Into the exam and immediantly flip the pages to those questions first. Then what you had revised before such as the smaller topics like BE and modulus and proof (which require time and logical thinking) those ones that require formula like trapezium rule would also be our first priority to finish as well. This way we could perhaps finish our exam before let's say 1hr and 30 mins into exam and then use those 30 mins for the first questions 🤞 I'm hoping this would work for me.
