You say "I'm not an artist" but your drawing of the animals proves you are much more of an artist than most of us !
@balateeraАй бұрын
these pictures show how much you love your animals, your house, the sea and nature in general. They are very lively. So good. Even if you only have black card to cut forms it transports so much it is like your life where you just make so much out of limited resources. This is such a strong metaphor of how golden you are : ) (transporting so much in these forms of yourself meets definitely the criterion of being an artist.)

Thank you, Silvia. : - ) I tried making pictures with more colours but it was too much. I was overwhelmed with the possibilities. I wonder what that means?

Despite you saying you're not artist, looking at the subject, remembering it and painting afterwards, isn't that what artists do? This looks good to me, Tim.

My grandfather worked in a book factory, printing gold letters on the covers. He used heat and egg yolk to make the gold leaf adhere. When he retired, he went into restoration of old books and my uncle built him a letter press from and old clothes iron.

Thanks for the ideas ! I am learning how t pinstripe fancy designs but, I love to play with all kinds of things. I love working on cars mostly but, since my injuries I can't. That idea would make for a really cool lighting project for outside with LED's or inside for a nightlight or low lighting ! There are really a ton of projects one could do with a lazer or a cnc like you have ..... for now I'll have to do it by hand and enjoy the journey it takkes me ! Have a great day thanks !

@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 lIke all things in life if you don't practice you don't retain the skills. I practice pinstriping every day for at least an hour. It's more muscle memory but, I just tried a new white spirits or mineral spirits and all of a sudden nothing worked like it used to. For weeks I tried using it and with not the best results. Turns out that you don't want paint to thick or thin and dry time makes huge difference as well. Lessons learned with everything

Brilliant! Hey that gold leaf needs to be off the glass, so a layer down from the glass. Otherwise it will rub off as the glass moves in the frame or will become affixed to the glass over time. But all those designs are very marketable. Honestly if you can't put the gold leaf on the backer paper, I would leave it off. Your designs are strong enough to stand by themselves!

7:33 "Just talk amongst yourselves if this part is too quiet.." Tim, that's called ASMR and it attracts millions of views on KZbin :) Especially artsy and crafty things. If you titled the video "ASMR Paper Cut Out Silhouettes And A Touch Of Gold Leaf", and only put the quiet part, it would go crazy viral.

I do believe in due time a more proper locomotive is needed (Tornado is nice and shows your creativity and Craftsmanship well but is not really a good fit due to how much it can hold at the moment). I also hope everything is going well for you guys over there across the pond. Cheers from Tennessee!

Much like the Tornado or narrow gage in general were merely fun little projects to do that might be of some help (or however Tim put it at the time). i love this channnel for many things but both Tim and Sandra are giving themselves far to low credit for their amazing work.

0:21 Please don't do that while the laser is running At the power level of that laser, even looking at the laser dot off a surface can damage your eyes
@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299Ай бұрын
You do know it was the camera?
@williamhuang8309Ай бұрын
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 Regardless of whether or not it's a camera, it's still generally a bad idea to open the enclosure when the laser is on Even reflections off a surface can cause eye damage. Most CO2 lasers used for cutting are in the 50-100W range but any stray beams in the 50mW (1000x less) range can still cause eye damage. If there's something mildly reflective in the laser cutter or a misaligned mirror or even simply some smoke particles in the beam path that can scatter the light enough to produce a hazardous beam. Either way the designs look good.
