Lu Bu was actually tough and I always forget that blocking exists and because of it I always ran through my heals before even getting him down to 3 quarters left. When I finally beat him I lost all my heals before I even hit him, spent the whole rest of the fight try harding so much it was like doing the fight at half speed and I realized afterwards not a single thought went through my mind during and I had a headache the whole rest of the day.

Nah his first stage you can just constantly hit him without any consequences and the second stage you just need to party two of his red moves and it’s over,it’s not that hard

@@FellixNoAmatsu not really. He is only hard if you didn’t pay attention to the tutorial and try to fight him like you would a DS or elden ring boss. Otherwise you can just stand in one place and parry spam, counterattack and win

Bit late, but the thing with this game is that level doesn't matter at all. Morale is where is at, if you have high morale and up to the challenge, you can run through this game level 1 no problem

Will never understand the hate this game gets. I understand gripes, but damn do people want to review bomb a solid game into the ground over tiny shit. People just love to hate, its cringe. The game is good, it'll be *great* after some patches. Its fun, the combat is good, the story is the more or less typical Dynasty Warriors with Nioh supernatural stuff mixed in. A lot of the armor looks sick, but some need a texture improvement (some are a little pixelated). Most of the weapons look sick and each weapon type has a unique animation set. The game is more skill based instead of build based so you can't cheese with a build like the dex-dual katana bleed build in Elden Ring, so thats a huge plus for me, and if you have a hard time with these type of games you can use the moral rank system. All around its an easy 7/10 on launch (played since day 1 and beat the game and all side missions except one of the last ones), looking forward to DLC.

I mean the reason why is fairly simple, when you have games like elden ring and sekiro that execute this format but infinitely better in a ton of different ways the few ways this game improves feel weak and the game itself feels cheaper. This game just feels boring and uninspired. Nothing about it super calls to me, the lore is weak, the combat just feels off, the enemies aren't particularly interesting, the world feels flat, the armor looks meh. I'm sure they can fix this all eventually, and it's not even really that bad it's just competing with much more inspired art in the genre, but even if they fix it, it really should have just been fixed on release. I know that sounds unreasonable but that's how the market tends to work. Elden ring had patch notes sure, but you can't say that game had any of those issues day one. If this game dropped and day one had great lore, story telling, enemy design, combat, all of it it'd be contender for GOTY, but now it definitely isn't and if they patch it by the time they do everyone's moved on.

"If it was GOTY level stuff it'd be contender for GOTY" What makes a game GOTY is that it's way above and beyond other games. That is not a standard, thats the exception, and that should not be what people expect out of every game, or most games, or even a quarter of them. So this game not being GOTY worthy is not, by any reasonable logic, an excuse to say it's bad or to hate on it. That's very unreasonable. There are thousands of great games that aren't GOTY worthy. That doesn't make them any less great. Elden Ring had a few of the exact same issues, like optimization and combat that needed to be better flushed out. The only difference is Nioh (and by extension Wo Long) is a much less popular game series and therefore more vulnerable to flak from randos for shit that other, bigger game studios do all the time. I mean Charlie himself says the game is fun, and fun is really all a game needs to be good. Having a good story and other fleshed out elements makes a game great. And having those fleshed out elements be great makes a game fantastic or "contender for GOTY". Wo Long is a good game. Comparing it to games that are way above and beyond the norm, like Elden Ring, does it a massive disservice and only sours the market.

@@AtlasRyuk Brother, why are you defending this. If the game had stronger mechanics it'd be goty, it has all the ideas to be goty, just bad execution. This isn't the hill you want to die on. No one's saying the game is trash, it's just underwhelming compared to its competitors and was so close to being great. It's just not great, nothing special, nothing I'd really want to burn money on. Coulda been, but isn't. I'll never understand why people are so afraid of comparing games to better games in the same space. Why wouldn't we want games to push themselves to be better? I have no interest in looking at a game and having zero critism. I want the space to be better. Unfortunately this game while fine in it of itself was just underwhelming in a lot of areas and it's competition has proven these areas don't need to be lacking.

Decent game, pretty easy compare to nioh and nioh 2 since the deflect is completely overpowered. The loot system is actually pretty easy and the way you customise your build is so easy it feels like you have a built in trainer. Not only you earn money so easily to craft the stats you want in your weapons, you can access to almost all the special stats and highest rarity items with relative ease. They cut off most of the farming requirement in nioh games but many people haven’t got used to it. Bosses fight are pretty easy. Many bosses were beaten with a lot of move sets not being used. On pc it ran like a shjt bag. Gameplay and mechanic wise this is an 8, performance on pc is a 4. From what I have seen on ps5 and xbox it would be pass as a 7/10c maybe 7.5/10. The weakness is the lack of challenge in many bosses, it feels like the sex is over before you get to climax most of the time it’s so cursed. Many times I have to ask myself “that’s it?!” I was fully expecting almost every single fight have a second phase after Zhang Liang but this is scuffed. It gets even easier when you realize you can get everything easily with selling, upgrading and respec your stats and your spell to counter the boss spells. With so much power on you as the player the bosses feel very weak. Once you fully utilize everything most bosses die in first try it’s scuffed as hell. On my first run I died 64 times and completed the game. On my 2nd run I died 9 times and I already reached part 6 and beat Lubu first try. This is way too easy but I guess it’s pretty accessible for many people.

Easy if you’ve beaten Sekiro. Being able to fight bosses over again is fun. Should’ve been an open world rather than levels. Enemy variety is boring. Combat can be as satisfying as Sekiro at times.

Just beat it. Fun combat, weapons and class abilities are probably the best parts of it. It's not very hard though and level design is either okay but sometimes awful. Also while some bosses are cool, regular enemies are super repetitive. If you like Sekiro or Sifu, then it's worth it imo

He wasn't "evil" he was a peasant who rose through the ranks via skill and respect. Cao Cao treated him like trash for being half Mongolian, but mainly for being of humble origins. The "betrayal" bit, was him getting sick of being treated like ass, and doing something about it. The only person who he really "betrayed" was Dong Zhuo. He just happened to be involved with Yuan Shen (not sure of the name off the cuff) when Yuan decided to declare himself emperor, despite the actual emperor of the time being alive. Cao Cao decided to then make an example of Lu Bu who he hated, and had him written down as a dog and traitor. I used to think Lu Bu was a douche, but did some reading and it makes a lot of sense.

Also I don’t believe in good and evil, but I feel most people would consider Lu Bu evil base on his allegiances. But again, I’m not the most knowledgeable person on the subject.

No it’s not it’s fun when you get the combat down. The deflect is so satisfying and so are the twin blades martial arts just spinning from enemy to enemy destroying their health. If you didn’t beat a bunch of bosses then you have no reason to review anything.
