Ray, Great work my man! You have mastered Dan Needers technique quite impressively. I truly liked your method for making the neck ridges. I've been binge watching the videos and can't wait to try my hand at it. You're doing some tremendous work. Keep it up!

Amazing ! Should do a how to guide because I want to make one! Tinfoil masking tape and paper clay?

Okay, well my previous comment was made about the 3 minute mark of the video. Now, gotta say, this is my absolute favorite one you make. I'm colorblind but the way you layered your paint makes it vivid even for my eyes. Speechlessly impressed.

You and Dan both do amazing work!!! I love that you both have your own unique style. Where do you purchase your eyes??? I made a really cool paper mache monster back in high school after reading Dans book. Now I want to try making a dragon.

Emily, Thank you, Dan's work is the bar I try to attain with all my creations. I get my eyes from etsy, I bought from this seller several times: www.etsy.com/shop/artistJP. My wife is now messing with resin stuff and making eyes so from here on out I will be using hers. You should definitely start making dragons, once I started I was hooked. I would love to see what you create. I do post pictures on instagram and facebook also. Let me know where you will be posting pictures, i will definitely follow you.

Wonderful work, I love the colours. How do you attach the head to the wooden plaque, I always thought the paper would not be strong enough to take weight?
@RaysDragonLair6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I drill holes th rough the plaque and run wire through it to attach the head to the wood. It won't just stay on with gluing.

Here is how I do the scales on the face: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHObm4mYqMiDl7M The black scales on the neck is a cut up old bed sheet. I take the small squares and dip them in glue and fold them. The glue looks black because I mixed black paint in with it. Does this answer your questions?

the material you use that look like white bandages, can you tell me what it is?

The glue I use is elmers glue all. It takes about a day to fully dry depending on how much glue is used.

It takes me about 30 hours to put one together. I have started doing 3 at a time because drying time can take a while; so when one is drying I can work on another.
