My one issue with this is that Olly being made by a toad was kind of a huge factor to the plot and would kind of lessen his motivations greatly if you changed the origami craftsman to any other species. Like, maybe an elderly toad?

Oh definitely, if that was a toad under that hood then the design is perfect. But it kinda needs to be a toad to justify Olly’s motivations, otherwise it won’t really line up

To break this down because it's probably the most common thing I've heard from people who have played the original game, The original idea for this project was to bring new NPC types into the game since the modern PM series was lacking in that department and was a very popular con that people had. By making new NPC's we knew that the idea of Olly only disliking toads specifically would not make sense. So we changed a few bits of dialogue so that Olly dislikes all 2D creatures instead of just toads. This already falls in line with the base game, as he turns all of Bowser's Koopa Troop into Origami as well, just used them as soldiers instead of just paper shapes like the toads. So in short, Olly just dislikes flat 2D creatures in general, which fits in line with all the new 2D NPC's in the world.

I love how this mod doesn’t just sterilize all the new stuff added in the game and turn it into basically the most popular game in the franchise like a lot of other “redone” mods for other franchises do

since i now know that olly will be changed in terms of motivations and dialogue the change for the origami craftsman bothers me abit less, though 1 thing that does bother me is that the origami craftsman was one of the few designs that REALLY felt like an oldschool design and being a unique toad, it kinda sucks to see that designs gonna retired for a species not really known for crafting and more known for spells and fortune telling.

Just add xp or some kind of exclusive incentive to battle besides coins granted I do think this game has the best handled way of coins as a reward for battles as items cost a lot and combine that with badge like gear and the items not breaking after 1 use it makes coins much more worth gettting and battles reward a lot but still there needs to be a exclusive reward. I like how you gave the attacks different ranges which adds strategy but add some kind of unique incentive and I think the battle system works great might not be the best in the series ttyd but still very good. Only thing that I feel like this needs right now.

This mod already has unbreakable weapons actually, and EXP is not something thats going to be possible.

@@HunterXuman I know that’s why I said that I wish there was a new currency added only gained in battles or make battles the most effective way to get coins by a significant amount. I also am going to echo what others have been saying and that if the items are unbreakable than there needs to be some cost to using them in battle with coins or confetti so you can’t just spam them. These are basically what I want to see +a unique reward for battle or coins be primarily gotten from battle and the most effective way to get them. Basically make getting coins in the over world less effective. +Add some kind of thing required when using the items since they are unbreakable. Bonus: Some partners just use the same attack so still keep them ai controlled with one move but give partner a unique move. Bobby does the most single target damage while kamel does weak damage but attacks multiple enemy’s basic stuff like that. Can just add effects or change the damage values. Overall great job. I’m not one of those paper mario fans who thinks that a battle system can’t work without a leveling system. As long as there a meaningful reason for battling than that’s fine by me and again I think this made has done a even better job at making coins more valuable but i just want coins in the over world to be less commons or add some type of new currency or something for battles. Keep up the great work dude.

Is this mod just expanding the world, or does it fix some issues with TOK? (For the record, the concept for TOK isn't an issue, the battle system could be interesting if reworked a teensy bit, and also if there was Some kind of EXP or other reward for fighting, from what I seen and heard at least.)

EXP hasn’t been added due to it requiring much more work for the devs to implement, and the current point in the TOK modding scene not being far enough along. The mod has however reworked combat by adding more weapons (and removing the durability gimmick) as well as adding more enemy variety and reworking stats to make combat overall more strategic.

@@jessehcreative Health upgrade accessories were in the original and while attack increasing accessories weren’t in the original, the weapon upgrades can be considered alternatives.

I like the old designs, and the bosses would take a hell of a lot to be able to change. I would be fine with a remodel provided the new designs fit the overall characters and don’t retcon anything instead of just being dull OCs like the ones Harry Gold made.

Oh, is Olly's backstory getting touched up on? I always felt his story was one of the weaker points of the game, which is ironic considering he's the titular antagonist. Like even his motivations were literally just brushed over as a joke in the finale lol
