0:51 Fun fact, Chestnut King is actually a mistranslation. Part of the joke in the original Japanese version of the game (as well as the majority of other translations it seems) is that Goomba King actually is the boss of Luigi’s story, who Mario beat in the prologue of PM64. Yet another dig at Luigi in those older days.

my bet is that the trouble center limit is there to prevent conflict with, say, having every trouble active at once and scripted events getting out of whack. would be nonetheless nice to take on troubles remotely with the mailbox for example

I always did the competition trouble by actually going into the store and looking at the prices for each item. I had no idea you could lie and still complete it. So fun fact: When I first did the key trouble in the original, I didn’t know about the badge shop in Rougeport and thought I had to go underground to the Star Piece shop. It wasn’t until I saw a guide that I knew it was located in the main square.

"Clashing quests" Persona 4 has two quests given at either the same or similar times where for one, you need an item drop within a limited time, except the quest overrides the normal drop needed for the other quest. You can guess how I felt when I realized what happened...

When I was going through this myself, I didn't mind the one trouble limit thanks to the new fast travel room below Rougeport. In the Gamecube version it would have been annoying, but in the remake its honestly not that bad. The fast travel room makes it way easier to cook everything too, since you can quickly pop between shops now as well.

Oh yeah, I remember noticing that Troubles tab in the new(?) Notes section of the menu, and thinking that meant it'd keep track of all accepted troubles in a nifty little menu. Apparently the guy behind the Supper Mario Broth information account on Twitter is working on a comic regarding Luigi's escapades and the Marvelous Compass. Adds a lot more detail that what Luigi mentions here (in the form of Mario media references galore), so... hey, points to Luigi for (maybe, non-canonically) giving us the short version. ... Do still wish they'd make an actual game out of his speeches here, though. It's that, or the Waluigi game. C'mon, Nintendo, take your pick!! And... oh wow, that Trouble Center's just as Troublesome. I *guess* there's some conflict with actor spawns and behaviors that prevent you from multitasking, but I agree: that sounds 100% like a GCN problem and not a Switch problem. With so many more complex context triggers and animations, it feels like this is something they'd *obviously* do for ease of access... but they didn't. With all the extra pipes and whatnot, I am honestly really curious as to why they made it this way. "Authenticity" to the original, maybe...? The only good things I can say is the new hint system, and how the updated text SFX clue you in as to who might be behind those bars back there... ... I guess to put a good note down, I *do* love how Merlon now strikes a wild pose when channeling... or whatever it is he does with those Shine Sprites. Makes the whole affair a little bit sillier.

iirc, in the original Japanese GameCube version, some trouble flags are shared with others, which allowed you to skip them. Also the backtracking improvements definitely help making some troubles easier and faster (mostly the ones related to Glitzville, among others). That's why not being able to get multiple at once in the remake didn't bother me that much, honestly

Doing multiple troubles at a time would be nice, but since they're all just boring backtracking with little to no reward, it wouldn't be enough for me to do them anyway ....is what I WOULD say, but something important is locked by doing a bunch of troubles now in the remake, though I'm not entirely sure exactly how it works Either way, doing multiple at once would help a lot now

Feels incredibly risky not to have a health safety net in case you screw up the action commands imo. (And also they gotta stand all the low health sounds and panting. '>_>) My guess as to why the Trouble Center doesn't let you take multiple requests at the same time (unlike job requests in, say, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games), is because since there are plenty requests that change the positions of varying NPCs, they didn't want to run into any issues with that when even attempting such a possibly large scale change in the remake. But this is just a guess from someone with minimal knowledge of the inner workings of a game. '^^ (Nevertheless, since I personally don't do those until the postgame [which I didn't even REACH in the original; dang Palace of Shadow firebars. '>_>], I'm not too bothered by it since I just do them all at the very end, when I don't have much else left) 11:41 THIS LINE. THIS FREAKING LINE. In the French version, I struggled with this quest a bit not because I couldn't keep in mind basic earlygame item prices, but because this line could be extrapolated as saying he's in front of the SHOP instead of the Trouble Center; which he isn't, his position is obviously unchanged. I felt like I was losing it looking everywhere in front of and around the shop in the grand plaza, until I rechecked the line again. '>_>

Leave my girl out of this. If it's just to be *mentioned* in passing in a Luigi textbox, I'd rather they don't reference her at all. I want Sarasaland to make a true comeback, and I'm tired of it only existing in MENTIONS. >:( I'm more than fine with them making up a new princess (or at least a new princess name) for Luigi's quest here, since it's for a kingdom we literally never freaking see anyways (the only glint we have at them are Luigi's partners being a thing).

​@@azimmeme9994 Well that second one is downright impossible given they casually brought the og game back via NSO GB, meaning people KNOW the original intent instead of whatever the internet's twisted shipping wars tried to tell us. Oh, and it'd be a darn shame to give up all those new locations Luigi mentions in his TTYD story just to reuse Sarasaland-- the latter deserves its *own* comeback, most likely in a Mario Odyssey sequel focusing on worlds from past games à la Sonic Generations. Ask anyone that bothered with that dialogue tree in TTYD, they'll tell it'd be far more exciting to see all those locales and events Luigi blabbers on about and the origin of the partners accompanying him; while Daisy and Sarasaland could instead by given their own spotlight in a *new* Paper Mario instead.

On the other, it still drastically limits the likelihood of the cancellation fee being needed in any situation whatsoever...already an edge case. Maybe they just didn't want it to be superfluous back in 2004 and stuck with that decision for the uniqueness. Either way, they greatly improved the backtracking situation with the new warp zone.
