One thing I’m not so sure I like is that the theme that plays when Koops reunites with his dad gets used at the end of almost every chapter (6-8 don’t have them). I guess the different variations of the theme are cool, but it kinda defeats the purpose of it being used for the reuniting of a son and a father who was thought to be dead.

The fire breath does guard for both characters separately, though it still takes 1 input. Whatever the front character does, the back character will mimic soon after, no input needed Though, due to the way it's coded, it creates an interesting bug, known as "Defensive Action Storage" If you somehow dodge the attack with the front character (via luck badges, fog, boo sheet, whatever), but not the back character, they will mimic whatever the last line of defense used was. So if you superguard the stomp, then dodge fire with the front character, then the back character will automatically superguard This applies for all 3 dragons' breaths, as well as a few other attacks like some earthquake attacks iirc (don't have the full list), but blocking damage with Shell Shield does NOT trigger it. You still have to time your guard around the Shell Shield

I remember reading something a while ago, that I'm curious to see if it holds up: there's a theory that each Crystal Star's "special move" has ties to the Chapter Boss in some regard, the idea being that the Crystal Stars themselves can't distinguish between good and evil, and grant their respective power to whomever currently wields them. I'm not sure if that holds up everywhere, of course, but it'll make for some interesting thoughts as we progress, here. Hooktail, then, horks up the Earth Tremor star. Considering her hefty stomp attacks, I *guess* that works? But it obviously could also be her titanic size, supported by her characteristically immense diet. I suppose if we're *really* splitting hairs, considering that Koops's Father was clinging onto the thing, *he* technically had it, and not Hooktail... Which... maybe explains why he never passed completley through her, even though he sat there for a whole decade. Too weighty a stone to clear, as gross as that thought is... Regardless, the jovial Koopa took this a lot better than his son did, huh? I actually forgot how okay he was with the whole ordeal. Maybe turtles are just used to planning in the very long term... Would explain that shrewd old Mayor, among a few other things. The abruptness of the whole thing honestly makes it kind of funny. ... And hey - the boss music has a unique finish this time around, too! That's pretty cool.

I noticed they removed/changed the line from Koops saying they all thought his dad's game was over, guess they've gotten rid of that meta joke SPM loved so much What's more of a loss though is the line from Hooktail about people paying good money to smell her feet was entirely removed for some reason
