In the original game, when you would tattle the green fuzzies, the description "appears in" would've said Keelhaul Key, even if you tattled it in the Glitz Pit, spoiling chapter 5's area! This version changed it! Now, whenever an enemy appears in multiple areas, it would say "appears in ___ etc." And the tattle spot would be where you actually tattled it!

Whacka is probably the darkest part of the game. It makes it very clear that if you continue to hit them you're giving them brain damage.

I am slightly sad about Whacka (assuming it is the same Whacka) it fled all the way to a supposedly cursed island to avoid getting bonked and it still gets bonked (in some timelines)

Something I like in the remake is that Whacka actually says something else if you hit him with something other than the hammer. I believe “Whack-hoooo! Direct hit!” is new to the remake.

Ba-da-whack! How do the people who do this to the Whacka sleep at night?! XD PaPatch and Flavio’s fight that ends in a call for a hammer duel is one of my favorite bits of dialogue in the game. Do the fancy pants dance, Flavio! A bit of backtracking in this chapter but not too much, and like ch 4, QOL devices have been implemented for the remake.

Flurrie is actually really good for Chapter 5, I'd argue the best one next to Koops. Fire enemies are all weak to Gale Force, as well as fuzzies, she can even hit the Parabuzzies and Bulky Bob-Ombs and she utterly walls Cortez while blowing away his weapons. It's honestly her best chapter in the game. With Power Plus P's Koops shreds the enemies with Power Shell and Yoshi/Goombella are all good for aerial enemies.

Best thing to have for all of Keelhaul Key is the Ice Hammer Badge and another badge that will be obtained later. Because most enemies are those wisp ghosts. Also Masae says she is going to get better about using items yet she is hoarding a ton of regular mushrooms that she could have given to Goombella. If anything the slow shrooms and gradual syrup will be useful for some later boss fights.

Slow shrooms and gradual syrups are amazing for boss fights. A lot of items just aren't that worth it when you have so many badges. It's kind of annoying.. most of them end up being debuffs that you wouldn't really need to use on normal enemies but bosses are immune.. so it falls into that typical problem RPGs always seem to have. Like what's the point in poisoning an enemy that I'd kill in a turn or two anyway? Or why bother using a healing item when I have something like sweet treat that's generally superior?

One of many Whacks. Edit: 2:25 That’s… slightly inaccurate. You can get more than 7 Whacka Bumps in this version. But getting an 8th and more will only happen “way, way, way later”, after the thing you were talking about way, way, way later. You just have to do the “way, way, way later” thing *more than once,* and you’ll get a Whacka Bump every time.

Whacka Bump may not seem like much now, but later in the game if you come back to it you might just end up regretting hitting it repeatedly. Edit: Art Attack is probably up there for the best special move in the entire game, it can be a reliable way to deal high damage to groups of enemies and/or finish them off.

the problem with the switch version is that the joy stick is more sensitive, so controlling Art Attack is tougher lol

@@PerfectKirby I played it on the tablet and didn't have a lot of problems with it. But I imagine playing it with just joycons would be harder, especially with joycon drift. I sincerely hope Nintendo has a plan to fix that with the Switch2 (or even just scrap the joycon system all together and go back to a standard controller system).

7:17 Susceptible to ice my ass! We saw that Ice storm did not freeze them at all! 15:32 In the first Paper Mario game, once you reached 30 BP, you couldn't level it up anymore. In TTYD, it's 99; not sure if it's increased for the switch version. 22:03 That cuts down on time spent climbing up. Love it cause of how often this game requires you to do it. (Not counting the trouble center.)

Considering you've managed to completely fill up both your inventory and storage space, it probably would have been a good idea to take out an Inn Coupon to use for that stay at the Toad House. I also have no idea why you've been holding onto every single Slow Mushroom and Gradual Syrup you've come across. They're not very good items, and since you refuse to either use them or just throw them away, they're just taking up space for no reason.

Nope. In the original game, Whacka disappears forever after you've gotten all the Whacka Bumps out of him. In the remake, though, something unlocks after you've gotten all the Whacka Bumps and completed the Pit of 100 Trials once.
