1:45 These fourth wall breaks are so out of pocket and I love them. 2:49 Ice Power is a lot more involved than the description states. Not only does it let Mario jump on fire enemies, but he also gets 1 extra attack against them, AND he takes 1 less damage from fire attacks. It's insane benefit against fire-based foes for only 1 BP, so I consider it a must-have in this chapter. 13:58 You can't really hear it over Masae's commentary, but I love the way the music distorts and fades out when Mario and his partner realize Bobbery is just sleeping. And we get my personal favorite partner out of the deal! He's not as useful as Vivian, but there are a fair few enemies that are vulnerable to or can be flipped by explosions, and he has the highest raw Attack power of all the partners, and his dialogue is really fun to read. Nintendo even posted an article on the Nintendo Switch News app exclusively about Bobbery's salty sailor speech. 22:39 This part hits quite a bit harder if you refuse to explore the island and everyone votes for you to go anyway, as Masae did. The tables have turned, indeed!

Correct. This is the first one. If you use Goombella on the Cheep Cheep in Glitzvile, she breaks the fourth wall, "That's Stewart, the blimp conductor. He checks tickets for blimp passengers. He's what you call a Cheep-Cheep. Normally, they don't hang out on land, but... They've actually been around for quite a while in the Mario Bros. series, you know. Oh, gosh, I just broke through the fourth wall there, didn't I? Sorry. Just forget it." The first one with Goombella is optional.

Bobbery is a tank, having the highest HP of any partner (he even has a move that does damage to enemies that attack him directly). This is balanced out by the high FP cost of his moves; his ultra-rank technique, the Bob-ombast, is the most expensive move in the game at 9 points.

Bob-ombast is the most expensive attacking move in the game, but the most expensive move overall is Ms. Mowz's Smooch, which costs 10 FP.

Having Bobbery as a party member was pretty enjoyable. He was probably my 3rd most used party member out of everyone.

I LOVE Bomb Squad!! Something about getting the positioning right for the mini bombs is very satisfying for me, and I also enjoy that if you throw out two layers of Bomb Squad, all six bombs will explode on the same turn as long as they're within range of each other. A fun little chain reaction to get your damage going a little faster!

I'm impressed that this chapter gave us an obvious X-naut spy, and Flavio is *still* the worst member of the crew. That's fantastic. I like the spy, he's just a little rascal, but Flavio is a worthless dunce.

Also I will say after this chapter is complete there is a trouble quest where goom goom is trying to find love, I recommend you try every other partner before first before you do the “correct” solution, it is HILARIOUS! XD

So, apparently, Frankly's not the only one who can break the 4th wall. 'Four-Eyes' has that ability, too, lol On a more serious note, as a bit narmy as the whole sequence is, I wonder if anyone playing this for the first time actually did think Bobbery was on death's door during this time. I hate to say it, but I think the old chap's either a bit senile or has a flair for the dramatic, or maybe a little of both, lol Either way, though, we get not one, but two new party members (technically). We get the old sea bomb himself to fill Bombette's role of 'infiitely-exploding' Bob-Omb, but we also get Flavio, albeit temporarily (again, technically). I do love how no one was sorry to see him go when he was asked to come with this time. I always imagined him saying 'Flavio hates you all' in a very sulky tone, lol

Chuckola Cola is a Superstar Saga reference. Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi being related predated Paper Jam by a fair bit.

These days it felt like the Mario games had a sort of clear timeline, with Superstar Saga mentioning that Mario had been on a vacation before that game nodding to Sunshine and possibly Double Dash, Sunshine hinting at taking place right after Luigi's Mansion, which was foreshadowed in the first Paper Mario where Peach's castle being implied to how it looks when not cursed to be Bowser's gallery as in 64..!

All the Partners have dialogue for both the end of Podley's Story & Bobbery wishing you Farewell. I will give you only dialogue for Podley ending his story of Bobbery's Scarlette because I did not screenshot the Bobbery dialogue. Ms. Mowz- Why must romance so often end in tragedy? Why?! I see why he won't sail... (100% missable, Ms. Mowz is recruitable at any time; first tragic romance I can think of is R& J by William Shakesphere. If you know how it ends, you know. If you don't, then read it or watch it. Though, I wasn't very interested. Love Stories were never interesting.) Vivian- I can't imagine what that poor man went through... No wonder he won't sail... Koops- Oh man... Now I'm depressed. So that's his reason... Flurrie- Oh that poor dear! How indescribably awful for him! Now I understand... Goombella- That's... (sniff) ...the saddest tale I've ever heard in my life. No wonder... You already saw your Yoshi's dialogue in this LP, so I'll leave it out.

Bobbery’s last stand and “death” is one of the best moments, even if it ends up being played for laughs in the end. Pffft, oh yes, Four Eyes’ famous fourth wall break! Peak Goblin Masae spotted, by her own admission! lol Updated script for Switch systems of course, and a little for the let’s play viewing audiences. Sorry Masae. Ever since fandubbing this scene with my sister, nothing really compares to her Bobbery voice. To give the comments section a laugh, I was responsible for Lord Krump’s voice, ended up sounding like across between Patrick Star and Dr Eggman! XD

Bobbery is an awesome character and a cool design. Even though I think he's the second worst party member in terms of combat, I still think his moves are cool.
