This video is kinda nostalgic for me, even though it's the first time i have seen it. It just reminds me of when I was younger and watched videos of stuff like this with wonder in my eyes and later tried to replicate them with varying levels of success. There is just something about making something complex out of items most would consider trash that appealed to me. I eventually stopped for various reasons, slowly changing interests, lack of success, old projects breaking/not working well/never being used, etc. but this video kind of captured those moments for me, and I watched it with just a bit of that wonder in my eyes. I know I am probably one of the only ones if not the only one to take this much meaning out of a video like this, but still, thanks for making me remember something I forgot a long while ago.

Yes, this is called a warded lock. It's an old design, not very secure against someone who knows how it works, but pretty simple to build.

This is an incredible system because you can also rearrange the "tumblers" to fit a different key. You can literally change the locks to require a new key, just by switching out the cardboard discs. That's awesome.
