Before I made music on a computer, I played the piano. As I started producing more though, I began loosing my passion for the piano and eventually forgot how to play entirely. It's so strange to me how we can be really good at something and years later not even be capable of the basics. This song is about rediscovering my love for the piano and looking into my past as a form of education and growth. There is a lot to learn from our older selves and at this stage in writing my album, this was exactly what I needed to discover my purpose and determine how I would become an artist.

This is incredible. I’ve always loved visualisers, but I always thought that the best ones would be somewhat hand-designed. Seeing this style of visualiser with the melodic elements, and the intense electronica really brings me back to what got me into electronic music all those years ago. Also, I wanted to ask if Puppet was ever an inspiration to you? Your stylings very much brings my mind back to his logo and his visual effects. I’ve always been a big fan of it. First time I’ve seen a video of yours, and I’m already subscribing. I like your art direction and sound design. (Also, was brought here from your shorts tutorial on the colour bass/stabs)

To be technically correct, it could be interpreted as 12/8, with divisions of one strong beat followed by two weak beats ( *1!* 2 3 *4!* 5 6 etc.) or alternatively as remaining in 4/4 but shifting to a swing/shuffle groove with the occasional 8th note triplet thrown in... Oh and good shit, the tune I mean.

uhm ackchually🤓 the time signature doesn't change there. you can tell that based on the snare placement, which is still on the 3rd beat of each measure. some musical phrases are grouped into triplets tho

@@LogansDarling According to the somewhat arbitrary rules of conventional western music theory, The time signature 3/4 is only intended to be attributed to songs with a feeling of having a "triple" feeling, with three strong beats in the bar, with those beats dividing by twos as you would expect (to eighth notes, 16ths, etc.). The time signature 12/8 however, and unless otherwise indicated, indicates four strong beats in the bar with each beat being divisible into threes as I described *(1* 2 3 4 5 *6*). So 12/8 is in fact the technically correct interpretation. As an aside, this is all kind of a bunch of nonsense that doesn't really matter that much, I don't even really like/subscribe to Western music theory, there's really no reason people pretend it's so objective. But that's another discussion. This convention of describing time signatures is useful to people reading sheet music though.
