More than fourty totes for a whopping hundred bucks ?! Even the empty totes are worth more than that, so welcome to your growing wealth ! 👍 Harbinger channel mixers are perfect solutions for singer- songwriters, small groups and home recording setup and are always selling for a decent amount of $$$, depending on the item. Sir Colin Davis had some Munich relationship because he conducted the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra in the 1980s, highly recommendable. Jacques Brel was a very famous Belgian chansonnier ("Ne me quitte pas / Don´t leave me" etc.). Seems that the previous owner got a very good music taste and was perhaps a musician as well. Even the book section starts very promising, can´t wait to see more of it ! So, congrats on your amazing finds, prosperity and your trip to Munich is right around the corner ! 😉Greets from GER, U.

Now to find the tote that has the musical instruments! Can you imagine? If there's a trumpet, I'm afraid that my 5th grade trumpet lessons are long forgotten, so I won't be able to play it. I was the only girl in the "trumpet section" and during lessons I would always get in trouble because the boys would make me laugh. For Christmas a few years later, I asked for an electric guitar so that I could be like my favorite rock stars. Thankfully it was a cheap model from a JCPenney Catalog, as my guitar playing skills weren't the best. Needless to say, a career in music was not meant for me! :0)

@@PaperandMooseNice coincidence, because I always wanted to learn trumpet or piano. And what did my dad get for me ? An accordion ! No way, I refused to learn this instrument and just took C- Flute lessons at school. I was quite good on this instrument and just can play it today, e.g. during Christmas celebrations ("Stille Nacht / Silent Night").

Sir Colin Davies - Great Conductor I think. What a beautiful classical box collection - overseen by the great man I presume, then rounded off by some high-quality sound stuff and music books. Absorb, consider, digest. Gloves on time, smelly socks are next. Sublime to ridiculous. Then guess what? More books. Nothing to sniff at though Renee ( sock joke ). All looked good to me….😊

How nice finding the sound equipment worth good money, Renee! I have tons of books as well and am getting rid of the how-to/DIY/cookbooks 1st. A few months ago I got the idea of contacting Tapas bars/restaurants in my area asking if they knew any patrons that were looking for Tapas (and Spanish) cookbooks. After contacting the one place closest to me, the owner decided to buy 3 books! I was so happy!

I had never seen one of those cassette > USB devices. Can you record the cassette to USB-enabled devices or just play it? Thanks for taking us along & enjoying the surprise of seeing what you've bought. Hope you have a great Wednesday and find the power cord to that mixing board!
@PaperandMoose8 ай бұрын
For the Cassette converter, it appears that I just plug it into my computer and then the cassette can be converted into a digital file. (Which then to burn onto a CD, I'd have to dig out my old CD burner which most likely isn't compatible with my current laptop... or perhaps put the files on some other type of device... Technology!) I just thought about the randomness of the sock & kitchen utensil tote. Books, books, books... socks, tongs, and a little stool. I've sorted a few more totes since recording this video and they were all books. Can't wait to see what else I will find! Hopefully that power cord!

I don’t know if this happens in the US, but over here in the UK a lot of disused telephone boxes (the iconic red ones) have been converted into miniature free book exchange libraries (after the telephone apparatus has been removed, obviously). So usually people will take a book or books for free as long as they drop off a book or books in exchange. Of course honesty and respect for the system is paramount, but it has been going on for a while now due to the decline of public telephone usage and British Telecom threatening to remove the boxes unless a use can be found for them. Just wondered if old phone kiosks in the US were repurposed in a similar way?
@PaperandMoose8 ай бұрын
All of our telephone booths are long gone 😞 They removed one of the last ones in this area, that I can recall, last summer. Many had been removed long before then. What a great idea though on how to repurpose those structures! Many people have built little boxes that look like the front of a house, usually with 2 or 3 shelves, and a door with a glass window, using that for a little community library.

@PaperandMoose8 ай бұрын
Media mail is usually cheaper, though there has been some discussion lately about the post office raising the price of media mail, along with other rates as well. With Ground Advantage, depending on where a book is being shipped to and the weight of the book, sometimes that is the better option for faster delivery as well as more cost effective.

Remember when you were in school and they would grade something on the curve? Everyone in the class would get a C, but there'd be that one kid that would get an A and screwed it up for everybody else. Listing something at a rock bottom price it's kind of like being the kid that got an A. Instead of raising the bar you're lowering the bar. Meaning everyone else is going to have to start to lower their prices and if they're reselling to pay the bills it's not good.
@PaperandMoose8 ай бұрын
Currently on eBay, the same box set is listed for over $300, except for one in Japan which is listed for $255. On Amazon, prices are all over the board from $299 up to $771. Now for solds on eBay, the most recent one that wasn’t sealed (like mine) sold for $135. Sealed sold for around $200. On Discogs, the asking price for the only one available in the States is $92 plus $55 in shipping (why that much for shipping, I have no idea). So my $100 or around that price is actually a fair price for an opened box set like this. Sealed makes a little difference. Seems like the $300 or more isn’t a feasible purchase price for most people & that’s why it doesn’t sell at that price point (at least here in the States).
@jennielee39777 ай бұрын
Even if she did want to lower her price to move items faster that's her business. It's not like she has dozens of the same thing, and would really ruin the market. And do you really want all the sellers to work together to keep prices high for everyone? Really?
