I go through these shops and I see so much value in them. Not just from vintage and collectibles but because people on a tight budget can stock their first home or apartment without taking out a loan. Furniture can be shampooed clothing can be cleaned and there are utensils and everything else readily available. I guess people think there is something wrong with doing it but it has to be the best recycle method out there. Great show!

Nothing wrong with it at all. At the one auction I used to attend, the auctioneer would always say that buying from an auction was the way to go if you were trying to furnish a home, buy kitchen ware, etc. Same goes for the thrift store. With all of the housewares, clothing, and decor items, no need to buy brand new at all. Especially in regards to furniture... the new furniture can't stand up to older furniture!

I agree, a lot more people are going to be looking for stuff in charity shops as they will not be able to afford to shop in stores or online due to Covid, mass unemployment, foreclosures etc. When I was newly married I bought a cooker from a charity shop and got a twin tub from my Mum. We bought a sofa from a second hand store. We must all learn to be more frugal, like our grandparents were, they could not afford so they did without until they could afford it.😎

I have a second home, a cottage not too far from my home. Every bit of furniture, every dish, all the silverware, all the cookware came from a local thrift. If you were to walk around this house, you would never guess that's where all this came from-original artwork on the walls, silverplate silverware, English bone china dishes, solid mahogany furniture-all picked up for just a few dollars. All the cookware is vintage Pyrex or similar. I stop by that thrift almost every day, and I'm very selective on what I pick. If I find something that's a better fit than what I already have, the old item gets re-donated back to the thrift. This store gets its donations from an old, wealthy area, so there are good things to be found. So often, the people throwing these items away don't realize what real quality is.

Since you asked...my more recent favorite thrift store finds: I found a two tier curved corner Hekman end table with the leather inlay on the table surfaces, then about six weeks later I found a Weiman Furniture end table with leather inlay. It has a shelf below the tabletop and metal mesh on the side between the tabletop and shelf. Both tables matched enough for my taste. Both about $15 each. I found an article online saying weiman went out of business in 1941 and the Hekman also seems to be pre-mid century.

You need a white tiered tray to display little trinkets like the tape dispensers on. People use to put food on them, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. If you can't find one thrifting or a antique shop, you could go to hobby lobby (I've seen other videos) they carry them or maybe Michaels and buy one and make it look vintage until next years yard sales, auctions, flea market days are back. There are tutorials on Bargain Bethany's channel how to make one cheap and I've seen her spray paint them white and distress them.
