We have many items that require no research and are perfect for the flea market - all of the unopened tablecloths, household items like sponges/cleaners that haven't been opened, clothes from Walmart still with tags, & "regular" tools or items like the shovels & long-handle tools. We sort for each market and then have a bin for items that require further research to see if they would be worth listing online. For sorting back at Taco Stacks' warehouse, we like to have the radio on, are constantly moving about to put things in their respective place for the markets, so recording that process hasn't really been on our minds. I think Taco will show a few clips of us sorting, just to give an idea of how we work.

@PaperandMoose16 сағат бұрын
The practice of selling hermit crabs at the boardwalk shops is a controversial one. Many of the hermit crabs have their shells painted, which can harm them. Though little creatures, they require a bit more care than living in a plastic box with gravel and a sponge. Having them as "pets" has become frowned upon by some. It's an interesting read about the controversy behind them!

At least you have warm socks, gloves and bogging for the next day of COLD day of clearing out the storage unit. Great going through these things, just wondering about some of the storage fees of empty cand, and bent nails for years....interesting!!! Love the video! Oh by the way, be very careful with that doe urine, it stinks to high heaven and it gets in your nose and the stench lingers!
@PaperandMoose16 сағат бұрын
Ugh, hopefully the cap stays on that bottle of doe urine! I do not want to smell like that! Haha. In the past, I have seen what rent was due on some of the storage units I won, and it really is crazy.... $1,000 for a 5x5 unit filled with trash bags of clothes and a few pieces of broken furniture. It's no wonder that the former renter let it go to auction. I do think that many use the "First month free" as a means to store things for a move, cleaning out a house of someone that passed away, etc. and have no plans on coming back for the items. It's cheaper to "dump" it off at the unit versus paying for a dumpster or landfill costs. Not saying that is always the case, but sometimes you wonder!

Some great finds again, and I am suffering with you, Renée. 🥶 Honestly, for me it would be sufficient to watch three "History Behind the Paper" vids on P&M every week during winter time, and, in addition to that, the curator of this channel sitting on her couch reading Grimm´s Fairy Tales (my favorite is Rumpelstiltskin😉). Of course in both languages, the original one and in English. 😃 But hey, I know that I am just dreaming...🥴 Anyways, the Christmas moose was awesome and would be a great mascot for your channel (perhaps as a logo ?!). Good to hear that you and Timothy are able to split these items accordingly. 👍 Enjoy some cups of hot tea (or even hot chocolate) at home, and see you on the next one ! Greets from GER, U.

Working on more History Behind the Paper :0) Trying to keep my energy up, it seems the cold weather & working out in the cold zaps any energy that I have. You guys certainly have perseverance & stamina. More fine finds. The small toolkit in the zip pouch would be nice to have around the house or in the glove compartment for things that larger tools can't do. Careful with that deer scent stuff. A long time ago (maybe on AFV when it was still America's Funniest Home Videos) ago I saw a video where a guy sprayed it on himself as a joke and - well - received unwanted advances from a deer that resulted in his being injured (while his wife filmed - cameraman never dies). Speaking of the deer family, nice article in the NYT today about a 1K lb. bull moose being rescued after falling through the ice at Lake Abanakee in the Adirondacks. I would think that a beer can next to a paint striping can may have resulted in some odd fire lanes, parking spaces, etc. My oldest child had several beta fish (one at a time) and was very successful with a few - they lived more than 2 years (from Wal-Mart). He had one fish that he found on the surface one day, not moving much and resting at a cockeyed angle. He told me and said he was pretty sure he had to flush it. I stayed its execution and did some reading. Well - beta fish and others can eat too much or too fast such that their swim bladders become impeded by their stomach / intestines. He wasn't dying - he was constipated. The website recommended putting a small mirror in the tank. Apparently the beta would think another beta was in there, and flare to try to scare it off. I guess the the muscle flexing while flaring gets things moving. We are not exactly sure what happened but the fish was fine the next day. I have tried flaring in front of a mirror when face with similar difficulties, but it never worked for me. Great vid - anxiously awaiting more from this unit. Have a great, cold Monday!
@PaperandMoose16 сағат бұрын
Fish can be constipated... learn something new every day! :0) My gram had a few Beta fish. I think there was a "craze" at some point where they were popular to have. The fish I had were usually goldfish that were won via the ping-pong ball in a glass at the fair. Some lived for a long time! AFV with Bob Saget - those were the days! Looking back now, imagine sending in a VHS tape with your video on it. Did families make a copy of the funny segment, or did they send the entire tape on with all other family gatherings? Did they receive the tapes back? I'm sure there is an article written about the behind-the-scenes of the show. Hope that your week has been off to a good start!

So funny…….never imagined I’d ever hear the words constipated and beta fish in the same sentence. You learn something new every day.

Am right or wrong, don't you two have a friend that has a auction house? The items that are too good to donate and you wouldn't get quite the money for it at the flea market; do a consignment auction. Just a suggestion. Great video again today.
@PaperandMoose16 сағат бұрын
It depends on the item. Online selling platforms like eBay & Etsy, we will list on. For items like the antlers, we might put at auction because we won't have to worry about shipping those & our friend has a following for things like that. Flea market items will be split, for the most part, into $1, $3, & $5 groupings.

These storage units and many before contain so many and different things that have never been used, are still in their original boxes or with price tags.
