Hi Renee, I too keep money in jars and tins. Have a bunch of discontinued Canadian money, $2 bills, Susan B Anthony $1 coins, silver money, JFK $0.50 pieces, Eisenhower $1, etc.. I'm at a milestone birthday (70) soon, so I better cash them in, pack up my power chair and take that trip I always wanted. Lol! Love these storage until videos and seeing you and TS together. He seems much happier when he is working with you. That's logical because you bring joy. God bless you 💖✝

You both have different perspectives which so adds to the entertainment value and yet their of no ifs and BUTTS when certain pictures are found - so funny the way that situation was handled.

Renee, the donkey you have isnt from Shrek,,,it is an old cigarette dispenser, Sort of a novelty item. You take the lid off the back of thee donkey and put in filterless cigarettes in it, and when it has the cigarettes in there,,you can lift up the tail of the donkey, and there should be a little bar in where the cigarettes are to push out a single cigarette from a small hole underneath the tail,,,,,you can imagine the visual now as it dispenses the cigarette from under the tail. Since no one smokes ,, including me now,,it isnt quite the laugh getter or novelty it may have been 20 yrs ago, but they are worth to collectors at flea markets anywhere from $20 to $35 dollars and up depending on condition. I never miss your videos, nor taco;s, and always love seeing your finds. Keep it up ! and much success to you both in storage locker finds.

Was it really the unit of your dreams, Renée ?! 🤨May be, because this locker was really packed with a wide variety of stuff. I like the signed 2008 John Edwards poster, the big suitcase, the Jaegermeister item (I didn´t know that this brand is so popular in the US because it is Kraeuterlikoer/ Herbal Liquor), the Smith & Wesson knife, the patrolled land signs (I need some over here 😄), the $ 2,- bills (some folks think these are counterfeits), the ammo box, the sword, the Mad magazines etc. Anyways, though we don´t know how much you paid for this unit, it seems to be a very profitable one ! 🤑 Have a relaxing and not too busy weekend, no snow so far in sight over here, very foggy instead. Greets from GER, U.
@PaperandMoose10 күн бұрын
Not the unit of my dreams, we know what I would uncover in that one! Perhaps one day, I'd take even a small trunk filled with some good ephemera! $2 bills are great to use when checking out at a store and the cashier is younger... they have to do a double take as many have never seen a $2 bill :0) We use them as tips too when going out to eat. The knowledge of what to look for when it comes to money & coins, over my head! Always fun to find a few dollars hanging around a unit, though. We are due for 5-9 inches of snow starting tomorrow afternoon into Monday. Will we get more or less? That will be decided by the storm. I'm ready to stay home & get some work done! Hope that you have a great weekend!

@@PaperandMoose It´s as simple as that: all US dimes, quarters and halves until 1964 contain 90 % constitutional silver and are worth actually around twenty times face. Sometimes they are found in change, but not that often nowadays. And for evaluating the older coinage, you might purchase the "Red Book" of US coins. I got a collection of American coins between 1802 and 1946, but nothing overwhelming.

So many things. I'm thinking the back story is people who cleared out a house fast to sell it, or, more likely, their kids or heirs who cleared it out after the owners died or went into care facilities. Im sure most everyone has had similar thoughts by now. I generally don't know much about what you find in these storage lockers, but I can tell you a little about the trunk. That size of trunk is truly a, "steamer" trunk (though the term is used for all types of trunks). A traveler would take it aboard ship with the things they needed during the journey. A "carry on." I believe I read that the max height on these was 14" so they would fit underneath berths. Henry Likely & Co of Rochester manufactured trunks (under that name - it changed over time) from ~1870-1925. I think this one would have been made ~1900 give or take 10 years. Henry Likely & Co was the largest trunk manufacturer in Rochester. I won't say any more about Mr. Likely or the family as he might make a good HBtP. The trunk would have had a tray that lifted out. It's in good shape but they don't bring much money anymore - $50 if you're lucky, $15 if you want to move it fast at the flea market. Still, I hope you sell or donate it. I think people have explained John Edwards below. Although he was a total disgrace to NC around 2007-2010, he did do some good things as a plaintiff's attorney prior to that. But cheating on your dying wife, lying about it, fathering a child with your mistress, lying about it, using campaign funds to try to cover up the affair, lying about it, being charged with felony campaign finance fraud - is hard to come back from even if you are not convicted (of the fraud). The Eeyore clock is a plastic replica of an anniversary or 400-day clock, so called because they only had to be wound once a year. The real ones had glass domes and brass / brass plate parts. They are of German origin (Jahresuhr) and were mass-produced in W. Germany under the names of Schatz, Kundo & several others. They are also called 400 day clocks, I believe, because that is how long you will cuss and swear trying to replace the pendulum wire, which an extremely long, thin piece of metal prone to snapping. Setting them to tell time properly is also a hoot (no). But many houses had them after the war and there's a lot of them out there. With broken wires. Tell Taco that there's a KZbin video out there somewhere where a guy mounted a real train horn in his car - I think it would be great for the van. It's earsplitting. These units seem to pay and pay. Can't wait to see what's next. Have a great weekend!
@A.Leftie11 күн бұрын
I always love reading your comments...you're a hoot! 🤪
@PaperandMoose10 күн бұрын
A real train horn in his car?!? Need that for driving around here, for sure! As you said, selling trunks in my area is a bit difficult. At auctions, the auctioneer is happy if he can get $10 for one. Like many other items, "they just don't bring what they used to". The one we found was in nice shape, both inside and out, so hopefully someone at the flea market can use it. I must have forgotten about the John Edwards scandal... completely forgot what he looked like until I looked online. What a random piece of political "ephemera" to have, but we have seen in this unit and all of the others, random is normal! So, the Eeyore clock is not the show-stopping vintage piece we were hoping to find? Haha. Poor Eeyore. That will go to the flea market & hopefully an Eeyore collector comes along! We are expecting 5-9 inches of snow tomorrow afternoon into the evening. I'll be ready to be snowed-in & catch up on work! Hope that you have a nice weekend!

14:18 I don't think you can even use the priority boxes as packing material. Maybe you can if the box sizes are discontinued. I remember in the old days of sending Priority boxes that were about the size of a vhs tape, guys would turn them inside out and ship them a cheaper way. Then USPS got smart and printed "Priority Mail" on the inside of the boxes, too.
