The green bottle at 5:50 is a “poison bottle”, therefore “Not to be taken”! I know this kind of bottle from Nicola White, a “mudlarker” in London, who sometimes finds them at low tide on the banks of the Thames. They were made between about 1880 and 1920 and are usually cobalt blue, sometimes bottle green. 2 dollars was a very good price for it. Cheers! Gabriele - Berlin

I watch Nicola. She’s great. I loved the poison bottle, green is a great color.

I'm a fan of books, so I enjoyed that look. However, I've never seen the category of "Quaint" for books before. It made me smile.

Fancy intro, Renée ! I must admit that it´s not easy to keep an overview on these numerous tents and there different content, so kudos to your ability going through this huge assortment step by step. 👍 Similar to last year, this rummage sale was extremely well organized with quite reasonable prices. I like especially the older LIFE magazines as some kind of historical documents. Anyways, thanks for taking us along, and have a great weekend ! 🌄🌅 Greets from GER, U.

It seemed a bit more crowded for the fall sale, so I didn’t record as much. In the clothing tent we were elbow to elbow sifting through shirts, but I found a few older sweatshirts for myself. I was hoping to find a vintage Yellowstone shirt or two, but none to be found. Any plans for the weekend?

@@PaperandMoose No rest & recreation days for me this weekend, because a lot of work has to be done. And, after the KdF- treasure I found for you recently, it´s time for me to get some new fancy stuff for you as well. 😉

On this day , October 4 1535 , the Coverdale Bible, the first complete Bible to be published in English, is printed in Antwerp with translations by William Tyndale and Miles Coverdale .......perhaps maybe one day you will find this one at a rummage sale! 📓

It still amazes me how much stuff is donated to this group and how well they organize and display the items for the sale. Noticeably missing from this video were holiday items of any kind which surprises me this close to several of the major holidays. One possible explanation is that you turned off the camera so you could dig with both hands for the vintage Halloween and Christmas items. I would imagine that this group would have amassed enough holiday items to warrant having a tent for just the holiday stuff. Thanks for sharing and, once again, I am jealous since my area has nothing that even comes close to this sale!

it's put on by a nurse association I believe, so perhaps it's some of their clients or families of clients who make the donations

The volunteers who organize the sale put in hours & it shows! All monies goes to their organization which assist in home health care, home nurses, hospice, etc., so it’s for a great cause.

Hello Renee. I was reading comments and it’s understandable why you don’t do shopping for resale there there’s to much anxiety and stress. But if you’re just looking for gifts or personal items then it doesn’t make you feel that way. And you just might find something to resell it’s a bonus. It still amazes me how organized they have it and I’ve been watching you and Taco go since you started going. Take care and enjoy your weekend. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🥰🫎🫎☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖🥰🫎🫎💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

It is very daunting & that’s why I no longer shop there with the intent of finding things to resell. I try to just enjoy browsing & see what catches my eye. I bought a few clothing items for myself & a few things for gifts.

“Not to be taken” bottle. That bottle is from Victorian or Edwardian England. It contained something that was a poison.

I mapped Far Hills - 7 hours / 500 mi - if I wanted to delude myself into believing that traffic through DC wouldn't be bumper-to-bumper. Lot of great stuff, though. 07:00 - an early edition of "Cheaper by the Dozen." No dust jacket :(. I love that book and have my grandmother's copy. She didn't have much when she died but left me that and an old tube TV that wouldn't turn off (the on / off button only turned the audio on and off). We still used it for several years - in fact our TV stand was one of those old wooden & caned wheelchairs that I refinished. Had to build a little riser for the TV when we got a VCR. But it was easy to wheel into any room! My 4th grade teacher read us that edition of "CBTD" but skipped the last chapter when something big happens. When I read it myself I was shocked & betrayed (don't want give it away). 08:15 poster of the Twin Towers. My kids will never understand the - what - feelings of that day (and I hope they never do) - just as I'm sure I don't fully comprehend what it was like seeing JFK Jr. salute his Dad. I loved Richard Scarry. We had "Richard Scarry's Biggest Rainy Day Book Ever," or something like that. All I remember now is "Lowly Worm wriggles." We had a great drawing book too by a guy named Ed Emberley. I'd like to believe that "Good Eats" mug came out of an old fashioned diner that served open-faced turkey sandwiches. Can't get them down here but used to go canoeing with my Dad around the Finger Lakes where they were great. Thanks for rising early and taking us along. Sounds like it all goes to a fantastic cause. Hope you have a great weekend with great finds!

Where do they store the stuff that doesn’t sell?
@PaperandMoose8 сағат бұрын
On Sunday they have a bag sale, where you can fill large bags for a specific amount in each tent. I’ve heard that thrift shops & secondhand store owners show up with trucks & just buy, buy, buy. Not sure how much they have left, I feel it’s very little.

Whoever priced the stuff with the blue tape had their stuff priced too high. I think they were trying to get ebay prices.

Do they store what they don't sell? Lots of things there. BTW, like the nail polish, went well with the sweater 👍👍
@PaperandMooseСағат бұрын
I think that they sell the majority of it, people come with Uhaul trucks & load up on the last day when they do bag sales. Thanks! Had to get my nails done for my Yellowstone trip, makes it feel like “vacation” when I get a manicure!
