I really hope that some of these thing end up on eBay instead of at the flea market. It would probably bring you much more there and the winter weather encourages indoor things like listings. What a great haul for you and Taco!

Much of the glassware, mugs, and household goods are better sold at the flea market as their eBay value isn’t very high. For things like the cameras & film, that will go on eBay because there’s more of a return.

When I pass away the same thing would happen. My kids don't like any of the glass items I have or the nic naks. So I have it in my will to do an action and donate all the proceeds to the pet shelter. My dogs have always loved me no matter what.

Luckily, my daughter is also a reseller. She’ll know what to do with all the stuff she doesn’t want, which she says is most of it. But I remember my own mother’s passing, and I know she will change that time when the time comes.

This should be a lesson to us all. Declutter before you 'check out'. Your kids don't want the responsibility of your stuff. I say this because I have inherited a lot of stuff. Some of it is actually valuable, but clogs up my cabinets and drawers.

I think that’s one of the reasons why many storage units go up for sale. Families do not wish to inherit and/or deal with “Aunt Sally’s” stuff, so they let others deal with cleaning out a unit.

We also inherited my parent’s things. I think they kept everything. Bills etc. from the 60’s. It took us 3 hours to go through one tote. Of course we had a fun time reminiscing. The two of you look like you were having a great time!

If my memory serves me correctly, it was $100. If there would have been photos of the boxes in the back, the unit would have went for much more than that. So funny we found a ceramic tree! I thought for sure we might have found the big vintage Christmas storage unit, but alas, they probably sold it all at a flea market in 1999 haha. Still fun though! Easy unit to empty out & with all those boxes, we had fun seeing what had been stored for years!

Fun video - anticipating along with you what might be in there after the dramatic tree find 😁. Looks like you'll realize a good profit. Are those blow mold candles just dirty or faded? If faded, can they be "re-colored?" Probably kill the value. Are bread makers still a thing? I remember in the 90s, I think, everyone had to have one. We still have one but it's not turned out a loaf in a while. I remember using 110s, with disposable flash cubes. Found one on a beach in Maine once & had the film developed but nothing interesting. Maybe there's a few used rolls in your boxes that will have amazing photos. Looks like you were really having fun - glad for that. Hope you had a great Saturday. I think we're getting another Sunday washout here - imagine you might be seeing the same. Looking forward to whatever's next! BTW someone IRL called me a "taciturn New Englander," so unlike most commenters, I respect Taco's outward reserve. Every team needs a straight man, ha! Have a great night.
