Recycled cardboard, better if quite thick and smooth, in this case I used an ice cream box;

What are the metal corner pieces? I imagine they add not just esthetics but also help prevent the corners from bending. Looks beautiful by the way.

Thank you! I use adhesive synthetic leather. I bought it on temu but it can also be found very easily on amazon :)
