Aladdin Deck Enhancer (NES) - Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN)

The AVGN reviews the Aladdin Deck Enhancer! In this Angry Video Game Nerd (episode 167) the Nerd gets the gift that keeps on giving from Aladdin... an upper decker! Well, the Aladdin "Upper Decker" Enhancer for the NES that is. This piece of toilet waste was made in 1992, during the decline of the Nintendo Entertainment System by the guys who made the Game Genie. It has very few games, like Big Nose Freaks Out, a bunch of Dizzy the Egg titles, and of course Micro Machines. The Nerd WISHES he didn't have to review it!

As a guy who designed one of the Dizzy games (4th one) I'm actually super-chuffed that the only good thing the Nerd had to say about them was about a change I made: not dying in one hit anymore! When I played 1-3 to get a sense of the earlier games, that was the thing that pissed me off the most. It had to go. 30 years later ... decision validated by the Nerd! \o/

I don’t know why but the intro bit with Aladdin taking an “upper decker” always has me laughing so hard. It’s just so absurd. Why would Aladdin be in the Nerds bathroom and why would he be taking a dump in such a bizarre way? I also think the reaction from the Nerd is great. He’s more shocked and surprised than actually angry. Just the way he says: “Aladdin?!?” kills me. Implying that Disney’s Aladdin is a frequent visitor to the his house. I was waiting for the Nerd to review Quattro Adventure which I kinda grew up playing on the Nes. He forgot to mention that jumping kills you (Even from a small height) in Boomerang Kid. Super Robin Hood was the only game in the collection that was actually kinda decent. Compared to the other three games you have a health bar (By collecting hearts) and you can attack.
