When I saw you were making washi tape I almost...did not watch, too hard or so I thought! Thank goodness you make everything so easy. I am making a birthday journal for my granddaughter and will make washi tape and other embellishments out of the gift wrap from her presents. A way to remember the love from the special people in her life, especially the ones who cannot be with her to celebrate.

Hi Jessica... love the ideas. Tips on removing the backing. if you have problems removing the paper back, burnish a little more. Also, use the tip of a straight pin to get into our paper and lift up. I use baby powder in a little baby food container with a medium pompom to pounce over the openings. Creative Blessings!

I admire the fact that you used what you had, because why pay for something you have? And every $tree I’ve been in carries slightly different supplies so I think it would be impossible to have all the same supplies. Anyhoo, thanks for the inspiration! I saw another KZbinr take the blank layer of the napkin you removed and use text stamps, acrylic paint, and made another variety of washi. Great video!

Just a quick thing. The dollar tree double sided tape they have now is .3 inches or basically 1/3 inch wide and 33 feet long now. Or 8mm× 10m (got that off the package, not that good, lol). It is super sticky now as well. Just some info for people to compare. I agree not everything is a good value. Also a warning! Whatever you do, do not use the dollar tree "exato" style knife. I had got one to try, it fell apart and had I not already been on guard for that, I would have been injured.

I love your Dollar Tree Inspiration videos. I just found you this weekend and am loving all that you have put together. I wish the local Dollar Trees in my area carried half the stuff you have mentioned in your videos. I only have found a couple of designs in napkins at my local Dollar Trees and they were birthday themed which is great if you are making a birthday journal. Keep up the great work! I look forward to other ideas you have in store.

Great idea for making washi. When you do the book page one I wished I could tell you that you put tape on the patterned side lol. I love how you do things so casually and not afraid to show us your mistake. I think it might also be great if just put double sided tape on the back of a full napkin or fabric to make them like a huge size sticker. And you can just cut of some of it for decorations. But it probably will need a lot of double sided tape 😂

Thought/Suggestion: Take a toilet paper tube and cut into circular pieces the width of the washi tape. Attach one end of the washi tape to a piece of the toilet paper tube with a small piece of scotch tape. Roll the washi tape around the piece of toilet paper tube and put another small piece of scotch tape on the end of the washi tape to secure. It will prevent the washi tape from being squished and easier to store. (Bonus: 🤫 Nobody, but you will know that you didn't purchase the washi tape from a craft store or online. 😉)

Hi Jessica, I have a question totally unrelated to this video but I was going through some of your videos and thinking about old books. So many journalers use old ephemera or book page. When you get them from thrift stores or yard sales is there anything you do to treat them or sanitize them? Some old books can have slight mold. I really am curious if there is something you do or check for. I’ve never heard anyone talk about this. Thank you, Sandra.
@DOCDOCFLAMINGOS3 жыл бұрын
As always I want to thank you for sharing your ideas and making the videos .. I also don't want to come off like I'm being mean or crappy. And hope it's just suggestions that might help in the future. I think a better description for this might be as decorative tape or make sure people know it's a permanent tape to use . Because "Washi" is known as a tape that is very low tack and can be removed or repositioned. And that way people are less likely to get confused You did mention it actually really quick about it not being like the normal Washi tape , but just saying it more might help with less issues with people having issue and telling you about it On that same note. I think you addressing the comments about the Dollar tree challenge of items not being the same etc. I think it's very valid and important for people to hear. BUT while it can be heard I think that speeding up the voice on that part just makes it seem much less important thus less likely that people listen and hear what you telling them about . Because again I think what you said and addressing it , is totally fair and valid . So I hope the thought of treating it differently might be considered so that people do hear and understand it , because it's important to you and important that they know where your coming from... Again I think you are showing alot of great ideas and working threw problems as you are filming and I appreciate that most of all rather then just seeing someone making something with no issues or mistakes because they edit that all out . But then that's not reality for anyone who might try it on their own at home. So I feel you are just where you need to be as anyone whould mist likely be at the same time frame of making abd creating for their channel ..it's all a learning process and I think your learning by trial and error .. and of course then your growing as well ...Thank You.

I'd also like to say, for those of you making negative comments, or "Corrective, or you should comments", WHY? You are watching a video that she created, for you...and you don't have to even pay to see it! In addition, you are not making the videos...they take lots of time, effort, editing, and work to put out. The creators probably already work so hard to make the content what you want, it is likely very disheartening to hear such nitpicky negative things...and...COULD YOU ACTUALLY MAKE BETTER VIDEO CONTENT?!?!

You are making tapes, but you are NOT making washi tape. Washi tape has to be made from Japanese washi paper. You are making decorative tape, not washi tape.
