పరా అపరా ప్రకృతి రహస్యం - Para and Apara prakruti - Swamy Antarmukhananda speaks
bhoomiraapo'nalo vaayuh' kham mano buddhireva cha

Paramatma is now switching on tohis Glory. Firstly told the rarity, rarity. Now, he is telling about himself. Bhoomiraapo'nalo vaayuh' kham mano buddhireva cha - Bhoomi means Earth, aapo means water, analo means analam means fire, vaayu - vaayu / air, kham means space / Akasam, mano buddhireva cha - mind and the intellect or the reason and ahankaram / egoism. So all these put together, these are eight fold divisions of me. That is called Apara Prakriti.
Apareyamitastvanyaam viddhi me paraam - beyond this there is another Prakriti, that is called Para Prakriti. This is the main point. You have to differentiate between these two Prakritis. The Apara Prakriti is lower and the Para Prakriti is higher. The Apara Prakriti is coming from the higher. Para Prakriti, and the Apara Prakriti is, can be, can be manifested. That can be known by the mind, can be perceived by the mind. So, that which can be perceived by the mind is called Apara Prakriti. That is tangible. You can see it. That is what we are seeing as this nature, naked. Nature is Apara Prakriti. The Para Prakriti is beyond. That is transcendental. That is beyond. That is transcendental Prakriti which is much supreme, superior to this Apara Prakriti. What we are saying is this only Apara Prakriti. We have to contrast and differentiate between these para and apara. Para means settled, settled, finer, transcendental, energetic, divine light. All these will come under this Para Prakriti. That's why, it is the topmost.
In vedantham we say, Parasakthi, Para Paramjyothi, Parameshwara, Paramdhama, Parabrahmam. Like that Lalita ParaBbhattarika. So all these superior, superlative words are used for the same. This is divine Prakriti.
