Did the documentary disclose that Gandhi said that "Hitler is not a bad man!?"He also advised the Jews targeted by the Nazis "to commit suicide en masse!?"Perhaps he should have offered humanitarian assistance instead?

The eternal legacy of Mahatma is the steady beacon light for erring mankind lost in the labyrinth of violence and mutual hatred or hostilities. The most saintly soul of this century he is transformed into the steady eternal star guiding our souls to the safe journey to salvation. He is the supreme measuring rod to gauge our inherent moral human and spiritual height and growth. It will take ages before we are gifted with another such magnetic mind and soul to illuminate our inner darkness and void. His assassination like the crucifixion of Christ strongly shows that we are spiritually not yet ready to receive our saints.

Indians & even the entire world is so brainwashed about the "Peaceful" Gandhi, but now people have started to understand what kind of person he really was. He is the last person to whom title of "Mahatma" i.e, great soul must be given as he was puppet of British who delayed India's freedom & is one of the reason in recent time for degradation of our culture's knowledge of multiple thousand years. If Naturam Godse hadn't assassinated him, he would have divided my India further. The real freedom fighter's contributions are lost in mess of Gandhi's false identification.

Yeah, all the while truely good people alone sacrifice much to help others in silence. And get no recognition, & are truely pure of heart. Real , but cause no harm or hate. I've been that for my whole life. And in humility, I wouldn't change s thing. Shameful so many get greedy, and anything goes , but are loved ??

fools like you who thought gandhi delayed independence , first you have to introspect whether India as a country was there ? further, gandhi didn't divided India he condemned it lets forget it you are graduated from whatsapp university , masters in propaganda studies , certified by sangh . you won't get it as to understand gandhi you have to read books which takes lot of effort, also least to mention a brain which you don't have .

we hindus also divided our society on the basis of caste... so does that make the entire Hindu society equally bad, if not worse, than Gandhi? Blaming Gandhi has become a fashion to look like an intellectual. Read at least 10 books about Gandhi before you speak 1 word about him.

He was initiated into Kriya Yoga, an ancient and very powerful meditation technique that brings about self realisation, by a Great Guru of India, in Wardha 1935. That is how he became a Great Soul. But i doubt that will get a mention.

At the beginning of this video documentary the narrator claimed that Gandhi would lead India as a beacon of hope for the rest of the world. Gandhi did accomplish much to help India but like many narratives the makers of this film gave Gandhi way too much credit. Let us not forget Nehru, Jinnah, and the rest of the people of the Indian subcontinent who have made contributions to liberating the Indian subcontinent from colonial rule. There is also a lack of understanding by many expert commentators in this video who commented on inequality and injustice. There is no understanding of how a handful of Western European countries, the US, Canada, Japan, and South Korea created a higher standard of living for their people. Since India's and Pakistan's independence from Great Britain in 1947 India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are among the poorest and most under developed countries in the world. In fact the gap between the super wealthy and desperate poor in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh is as severe today as it was under the British Raj. Despite self-governance it seems the average Indian people is no better off. In fact the States of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are highly stratified, pre-industrial, and where the standard of living for the overwhelming majority of its people are hopelessly backward. At the start of this video documentary the narrator claimed that Gandhi had conversed with Adolf Hitler. Can this possibly be true? Given what we know about Hitler-NAZI Germany and Tojo-Imperial Japan, their justification for dominating Europe and Asia, would Hilter even speak with Gandhi? This claim is clearly a distortion if not a lie. Of course, some Indians did aligned themselves with the Tripartite Pact (Germany, Italy, and Japan during WWII) like Subhas Chandra Bose. It seems there are Indians who wanted independence from Great Britain to such a degree they would support the Axis Powers of NAZI Germany and Imperial Japan. Needless to say if Imperial Japan had won WWII India would be under Japanese Colonial Rule which is what Korea had suffered from since 1910. With expert commentator like Vandana Shiva it is not surprising India is still under developed and have no idea how to raise the standard of living for most of its people. The statements by Vandana Shiva is a clear example of misunderstanding. It is industrialization that allowed the average citizen farmer of the US and Great Britain to get their crops to market, sell their crops, and make a middle class living. The free-market, capitalist system of trade allowed a backward and dirt poor agrarian society to become a free trading industrialized society. Agrarian societies are 80-90% family farmers and they were not able to trade their crops. Because pre-industrial societies do not have the infrastructures for efficient transportation. Industrialization enables affordable transportation of agricultural goods to market for sales. This is basic fact that socialist and authoritarian governments do not understand. As a result, countries like India, Bangladesh, and Communist China are not developed, not industrialized, and have a low standard of living for most people. Lastly I would like to mention that there are many Indians who oppose Gandhi and the portrayal of Gandhi as a leader for justice and equality. I do not know if this fact is true or not. I have seen many reports from Indian people that Gandhi had a Hindu perspective of justice and equality. Many Indians claim Gandhi tolerated the Hindu caste system. Where the Sudras (laborers) and Untouchables (street cleaners) are viewed as the lowest inheritable social class. With the Brahmins (priests, intellectuals) on top, Kshatriyas (warriors, leaders) below the Brahmins, and the Vaishyas (merchants, traders) who were below the Kyshatriyas and above the Sudras. If this is true then it contradicts the view that Gandhi was a man who fought for truth, equality, and justice. No society can move forward when a stratified social order is tolerated.
