This parable seems to speak of religion and the state of the Christian church today. It is a sobering and convicting message to my often critical heart that truly desires more of Christ but needs to humbly accept His sovereignty. The word of God is truly good but not in just the reading with the mind but the consumption of the soul. The bread of life not consumed remains on the table as a mere observation of the life it truly possesses

These parables are profound. Just shimmering and there’s an ear in us all I feel, that loves the beauty of tales and stories that strips our dilemmas down to the bare and undressed woven into tales of magic and journey.
