I strongly thank you, mainly for the program to calculate the focal point; it had been a great head ache for me.

Very Informative. I've been doing alot of research on this particular subject, and have been attempting to create my own parabolic antenna using a satellite dish. Would love to see a video on making of a parabolic antenna using a dish.

I don't know if your still fiddling. if you slide the Perspex feed exciter back and forward in the slot, at some point youll get a maxamin gain. it gets the exciter in the right place of the focal point. try a 4 element quad as a feeder as itll be closer to 50 ohm thus matching your coax. ive had good results with a 2 ele quad as well, the reflector helps to bring it to 50 ohms. half wave long for the 4 ele and point 12 of a wave long for the 2 ele

I hope to get a 3d printer soon. I was planning a build with a single wind surfer back reflector and dual yagi's for a 2x2 mimo... there is a conductive filament I hope will print precise antennas!

bigmac turd how has your progress went? I heard there are high consistency copper filaments

So your making a Log-periodic antenna aimed into the reflector. Cool idea. You see lots of Log antennas used for multi bands on HF and the VHF/UHF Logs are popular here in the USA, I see quite a few people with them up on towers. Even the desk top Digital TV antennas so are built in the same way you built that one just that they are some bigger. 73 Jimmy, WX9DX

Hi mate nice video ... curious could this 2.4 be used on wireless remote controllers

What program were you using to measure the signal?

Andrew, thanks for the video, its just as informative as your videos usually are. I have been wondering about one point, the width on the parabola is mostly unneeded in my opinion. Wouldn't curling its edges inward give you *some* of the advantages of a 3d parabola? (Such as a slight vertical polarization) I'd love to hear your opinion on this idea

Hi Adrew, I was wondering if I have my own parabolic antenna made by myself is it always needed a decoder box to be able to watch different kind of TV channels? I mean, there are a lot of satellites around the atmosfere and some of them have an open signal, Is it necesary to use an universal decoder box to watch TV channels? Thanks in advance for your comments.

Wish I found this months ago... a good size... Think u can craft your own dish? same size as what u have here? Or does this element not need a dish? I had made some 3inch, 6inch and 12 inch focal point parabolic dish's. But super ugly and a biquad was not the right element for the job I attempt to solder a bunch of thick wire to a jig but my mini torch skillz suck lol now its a wall ornament in my shop I need a solder gun

i have just purchased a new usb adapter rnx-n600ube dualband... on the antenna's provided, i see printed 2.4G/5G... does this mean the antenas messure for both 2.4 and 5g? not sure if this makes sense...
@andrewmcneil9 жыл бұрын
bigmac turd It would probably be a 2.4GHz antenna. The 5GHz will work just not as well as a antenna designed for 5GHz.
@onedayillpay9 жыл бұрын
could you use a biquad for this? Would you use the windsurfer and also a rear reflector at 15mm?
@onedayillpay9 жыл бұрын
Or what other antenna might you suggest for this parabolic design

paint doesn't affect signal
@inspectormore-anonymous12597 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. Most all paints contain metals different metals for different colors, they make specific antenna paint actually which I believe ive heard him mention he uses before, which is why everything gets painted black, depending on the type of antenna paint can hurt you a great deal, dont leave comments of non researched opinions thanks.
