So here we have the 2.4GHz version of this antenna. Operating at 11dbi it is a powerful antenna for its size, again as shown in the last video this is due to the parabolic curve of the reflector.

That would be a good antenna in combination with an old Satellite dish at the focal point of something like a Dish Network or Direct TV dish.. Nice presentation. Thank you again! Jimmy, ARRL TS, WX9DX

I built one using a metal baking pan from the dollar store (.011) and a white slippery plastic kitchen cutting board 3/16" thick. GOOP instead of epoxy. Put a square piece of cutting board between plastic uprights for a stand. Old router sma antenna for hookup. Big improvement on my alfa like card antenna. Thanks for all your videos and on to the next one.

A few noob questions 1-could you put a notch in the driven element for the coax wire or is a hole the way to go? 2-do you know the beam width of this antenna? 3-could you leave the inner insulation and cut it just short of the driven element or does it not make a difference? Thanks for all the great videos. Gonna give a crack at making some of my own antennas!!!

Quadflyingmedic Hi 1 yes you could the most important thing is to get it as close to the edge as possible 2. .3dB beamwidth of about 52 degrees though my network analyser has not been calibrated in 2 years so my be off 1 or 2 degrees. 3 Yes and to be honest I make 4 or 5 antennas during each video and I have this is the only one I stripped all the insulation off. Hope this helps.

I need to go about 500ft to a shop in the back yard and there is a slight obstruction of low hanging branches from a tree. I currently get a pretty decent signal with a rosewill rnx-180ube which has a 5dbi antenna and a windsurfer. sometimes i get really good connections other times i have to watch youtube on low res would this be a good solution to increase my speeds?

Cantenna is better for range . But extremely directional.

@@kavindugilshan after a bit of reading the cantenna seems like the better way to go. I dont mind it being directional I can set it up and then just run a usb to my pc, or better yet i might run the cantenna into a repeater.

@@MrGeemonty i use a cantenna with a usb WIFI adapter also i have wifi repeater with a cantenna . They both work fine . But the problem is when the cantenna moves 1 mm signal drops. I use vistumbler to point the cantenna . But i think if you try to hack a repeater with MIMO antennas it won’t work.
