Did you ever build a parabolic dish for Wi-Fi could you pretty cool on for a camping with bad Wi-Fi or aiming dish on a restaurant with really high speed

Hi i may have a weird case. I took the reciever part from the yagi antenna, basically a flat half circle hollow metal tube with ground and signal wire attached at each end... I covered a 6 liter bottle with huge diametar and quite long too with alumunium foil so it looked functional and low end behold it was. I placed the antenna part in my amplifier and it worked fine, no measurments, just eyeing what might work. And after seeing your videos and learning how to make a proper wifi antenna i wonder if that will actually increase gain and signal. And by how much. And why. Because what i still dont understand is, does the shape of the antenna give dBi, i dont understand i thought it was about the eletric power not math and precise building. And i find it amazed. But still about my antenna, it is not grounded to anything, it just hovers there attached wirely only with itself and pc. So what I want to know is, why can i do that if the cantena specifically has to be metal. Is 16 dBi antenna always 16 dBi or when its forgen in a specific shape? What determines dBi in making of antenna? I ripped apart the cable and destroyed tha half circle and now i need to make a cantena out of it, but there is one small problem. I dont have a metal tube so what if the tube is plastic covered in aluminium foil and ground is connected to the signal wire since its the same shit, cut out the middleman and what you get is a passive reciever. Picking up only what drifts in its trap and its always drifting. So This little experimet would prove the antenna doesnt matter as much in terms of dBi but routers signal strenght. Which sometimes, if its your neighbours, you cant point it the other direction. Our houses are 20 meters apart and connection is real shit to real good. My other neighbour that is 200 meters apart, has better signal but lower or same dBi. I think my answer is a powerful omni antenna, last one also met my neighbour. Its absurd the difference. I still gotta make a cantena and see if those measurments really matter.

Can you do a antena round up of your favourite antenna designs that you have. I am looking to upgrade my home wifi antenna and i am rather confused about 5ghz and 5.8ghz and what antenna type i am aiming for.

I am very curious as to the covering maybe a color or substance that may be as little bit more static on the outside love your research and studies it's not my practice cause I'm very poor at the moment but I love your research it's very inthusulatic so some one should know to search for a network that may work for them who seek I APPRECIATE YOU FOR YOUR COMMITMENT IN YOUR TEACHING to strive to learn whose shall surpass us GREAT WORK OUR BROTHER

Interesting. I like the sturdy construction and the N connector. Seems like these would be fairly directional, though - right? I need better WiFi antennas for my outdoor hotspot, but I'd prefer omnidirectional coverage. The hotspot does have dual N connectors for diversity antennas, but I feel like two of these set 180 degrees apart would only give me bi-directional coverage. Any suggestions on a high gain omni 2.4 GHz outdoor antenna with N connectors?

Do you know how directional this is As i understand it the higher the db the more directional it is - a long yagi acting like a telescope
