I was thinking the same thing! When I was "in", there wasn't all of this multi-media that they have now. I was born into this in the late 1950s and grew up in it. Back then, everything was just kind of dry, but it seemed "scholarly" in a way. This was back in the days when Freddie Franz was influencing most of the writing. Now that they have all of these glossy illustrations and videos, it just screams "CULT"! The more they try to picture paradise, the more cult-like this seems.

Of course this sequence of events is nowhere laid out in full in the literature, clearly, and in one place. If it was, folks would realize how crazy it is. So the WT only scatters bits and pieces of it, here and there, across a period of decades. Thanks for putting this all together in such a clear, concise, and chronological way. Instead of everlasting life, it appears to be the promise of everlasting hoops to jump through. Except for the anointed. All they have to do is die once, and BAM, they're granted immortality, something no Earthly inhabitant, no matter how faithful, for no matter how long, will ever attain.

I still can’t wrap my mind around that if you are alive at Armageddon and not a JW, you are killed. But, if you died before Armageddon and weren’t a JW, you will be resurrected, even if you were “wicked”. 🤷‍♀️

Yep, once I realized Hitler was coming back it really helped in not allowing the religion to settle in. The idea is if you die after the cut off point is established which is basically believed to be when god calls "Go!" that's it you suck and your dead if you die after that point it's like you as a witness had time to hear the word and you also had time to stop being a fence sitter and you didn't so you don't get to live even though god sees everyone's hearts if he wants so he could tell you were a teachable person or not once everyone is revived. But I dislike the revival too cuz if you're deemed still unfit you just go the place to fall into the pit of hell forever so you literally get woken up to die again! To me this was like why bother? You know who they are before you even arise them yet you did it anyway to be spiteful again? Why?

First off, I just spent 30 minutes going through my Final Fantasy and Kingdom Heart piano renditions to realise you're using a lofi version of Hikari. My soul is happy. Second off, as someone who lost a parent to suicide at 4 but entered the Borg at 8, I was constantly asked if I'm excited to see my mother in the new world. Strangely at the time it was still questioned as to whether someone who commits suicide would make it into the new world so there were whispers for years as to whether even to ask us the question. My 8-12 year old brain couldn't make sense of it. So I began to answer people that im not excited and the paradise doesn't feel real to me at all. Lost a lot of friends. But to me it just didn't make sense at all so I learnt to stay quiet about my doubts. Thankfully those doubts kept my head enough above cult water to get out years later. Great video again Alty boi, if I ever get play money I'd be a patron 😭

The purpose of the “paradise” myth is being used these days to provide a schema for current behavior. It’s a way to get current JWs to be obedient and passive now by trying to normalise a subservient mindset. Very manipulative.

When I was a JW child, I remember thinking I would be better off dying quickly before Armageddon- because I would have a better chance of surviving the 1000 year reign. I was only 10 and I felt sooo sinful (I watched Sleeping Beauty) I just knew I wouldn’t be able to be good enough to survive Armageddon.

I remember asking if the resurrected wicked included Adolf Hitler. I was told the "grossly wicked, evil," like Hitler and others committing hideous crimes against humanity would get a "thumbs down" from Jehovah himself. I guess there's "wicked" and then there's "wicked."

Very good job on your video. Born-in born in 1954 I remember all the stuff/crap they taught. As a child their obsession with how people would be destroyed caused many nightmares in my developing years. I always wonder why those who survived armageddon had to go through so many test to get everlasting life which is always conditional but the 144,000 who stay loyal get immortal life with no conditions. It seems very unfair. Elder for 24 plus years my wife and I left going on 11 years. Thank you for your hard work. David winner

Really really great video. Musing about the absolute incomprehensibility of paradise is one of my favourite past times. A point I've never heard brought up: in the paradise artwork they depict men wearing hard hats and safety harnesses during construction. So you can still be hurt in paradise? If you fell off the roof could you die?

I used to feel so cheated about this, like I had been offered an opportunity but I never had what it took to fulfill the conditions, and because I wasn’t ignorant about those conditions, I was never going to make it. I remember wishing so badly I had never been born into this so I could only get a chance once resurrected. Oh boy, what a load of shit. 🤣

People have made sacrifices giving up jobs, careers, hobbies, having children etc believing that they're going to live forever in Paradise and pursue these things then. But there is no guarantee that they will live forever as many will die during the second Armageddon.

Do you have an issue with human beings having a flexible will that they can change their minds? Do you have an issue that everything that we do in this life has meaning and that it is precisely the Judgment that makes this so? If there was no Judgment, there would be no meaning to the choices we make every day, because it would not ultimately matter what we did, whether good or evil.

@@matt-z5j If we die before the great tribulation we face a particular judgment. Jehovah determines whether we go to Gehenna, Sheol/Hades, or Heaven. If we love Jehovah, and thus are not in a state of unforgivable sin, then, if we still have some stain of sin (even though our sins are forgiven), we enter Sheol/Hades awaiting resurrection to enter Christ’s judgement day/or the Millenium (Jesus Christ's Thousand Year Reign) to be purified so that we can receive the gift of Eternal Life in friendship with Jehovah. The essence of Gehenna is not a place (which is the eternal punishment or “second death”, everlasting destruction, annihilation. -Gehenna is what gives significance and meaning to the choice to reject Jehovah. Gehenna is what happens to us and in us when we reject our ultimate purpose, when we turn against the purpose knitted into the essence of our heart, turn away from Jehovah who is our perfect happiness, and turn to something other than Jehovah’, whether ourselves or some other created thing, as our ultimate end and true joy.

Life under the direction of God's "organization," rules enforced by elder princes? No thanks! As for the earthly paradise, it seems that Armageddon survivors are given the responsibility of "transforming" the earth into a paradise. Does the soil have to be tested, then properly enhanced, gardens "planted" and maintained? Sounds like a lot of grunt work that might rob us of the time to learn to play a musical instrument. Satan, in this Watchtower scenario, is one of Jehovah's most important tools, separating unworthy ones, identifying them for Jehovah to kill. The more I "learn" about Paradise, the less I want to live there.

Another great video as always! Why jehovah feels the need to keep testing his people, what an insecure God! I have a question, at armageddon will animals automatically get through? Noah was only allowed to take two of every kind, Jehovah was okay to allow all the rest of the animals to drown, on that basis I expect there will not only the bones of the humans of this genocidal event will need to be buried but that of all the animals. Those who get through to the new system are going be super busy for the first few years. Nothing makes sense eh, and when it doesn't make sense there's a lie involved.

Jehovah is not the true God of love but is Satan the devil. A God of love would never dream of hurting or killing animals or humans. Throughout the Hebrew scriptures, Jehovah is seen to be killing 100's of thousands men, woman children and babies for no apparent reason, his favourite methods are either burning them alive, using plagues, or influencing nations to kill off one another by the sword. He even had some of his own specific nation of people the Israelites, killed because they complained or did something displeasing to him. Such an evil, psychopathic God is Jehovah. I feel so sorry for all the delusional JW's still in the cult who believe Jehovah is a God of love and that they have the truth. 😟

Excellent video! I haven't been in a KH for decades, but that's what I remember. The 1000 years that are supposed to be needed to achieve a perfect earth, and then the final judgment, and the people following Satan would be as many as the sand by the sea... Why would that be? If they experienced first hand that they were raised from the dead and that the earth turned into a paradise, how would they fall for Satan again? I always thought that was a bit strange. But then again, if in fact they have to spend 1000 years in bible study and learning how to wear JWs khaki clothes, perhaps I can understand why they rather take their chances with Satan.

I love your videos. I really enjoy that you are so accurate in everything you say. Many EXJW channels overly exaggerate or talk about only worst case scenarios and to some degree lie about many things. That was such a turn off. Knowing God, after Armageddon in paradise, I bet he will place a tree in the middle of everything and say "If you eat from this fruit you shall perish". There will be someone curious enough to eat from it, and the cycle will begin anew. Every single person that did not eat from that tree will be severely punished for it regardless. And billions of people will be born, suffer and die, just because one or two people ate from said tree. Until a new Armageddon comes, and the cycle is repeated.

I noticed that on two occasions they seemed to purposefully avoid mentioning the obvious. First when he says about Jehovah "when he who Jehovah regards as lawless, must go". And near the end, when Geoffrey Jackson says "any who display a wicked attitude will be removed." if they use the words like "killed" in the context of the resurrection it might give people second thoughts about staying? But it for sure seems like one of many fear tactics to control the followers. Those two instances just stood out to me for some reason, but Im sure is the usual double-speak WT uses all the time in the propaganda.

Excellent points! Thanks for your research and time. People have been led to believe that it will be Paradise immediately after Armageddon but it will actually be Judgement Day and they will have to go through a second Armageddon in which many will die again. Paradise is actually more than a thousand years away. People have made sacrifices giving up jobs, careers, hobbies, having children etc with the expectation that they will be able to pursue these things in Paradise but there will be no time for personal pursuits given the overwhelming amount of work to be done by 8 million Armageddon survivors attending to the needs of the billions of resurrected dead.

You know what’s very scary about this teaching. If God forbid there was some sort of apocalyptic event that wiped out most of humanity and a decent contingent of Jehovah’s Witnesses were left over they could use this gradual progression to perfection to explain away why the earth is still a wasteland and why they aren’t perfect. Then demand obedience as gods representatives. The makings of a very scary post apocalyptic cult

In a way the Paradise that they have been picturing for decades could be summed up as: "In Paradise you will not have to be Jehovah's Witnesses!" I mean they've already taken away ambition, freedom, human rights, relationships, possible carreers and passions and so much time from millions of people... and now they're even taking away this utopia and replace it with some sad sequel of being a JW. Paradise was always very enticing and it's truly sad that people who have been hoping for it their whole life are having their illusion spoilt at this point. I mean, it's all they had and now many of them (whose thoughts you can read on reddit, for example) feel increasingly disappointed and bitter about what happened to this teaching. I mean I'm young, I left, I see that in many ways we as humans have capacity to make this world much better than their version of paradise, if we only unite and start cooperating. But many older people are too deep in to leave JW's - they only have this dream and now they're like, what? We're still gonna be JWs?

It just occured to me, while watching this video (and perhaps I'm very slow) that being a perfect human being is not a facet of being human; rather, it is conditional on obeying god. Because if it were a facet of being human, then not obeying god would not cause us to be imperfect. Therefore, free will is a complete joke. Fortunately, I no longer believe in that crap.

Jehovah is not the true God, he is actually an imposter pretending to be. Jehovah is Satan the devil and he had set all the rules and commandments for the Israelites to obey. Check out Deuteronomy chapter 28 what Jehovah promises to do to all those who fails to obey him. He also loves human and animal blood sacrifices as a burnt offering, they are a pleasing aroma to him. Exodus 29:17, 18 "Cut the ram into pieces, and wash off the internal organs and the legs. Set them alongside the head and the other pieces of the body, 18 then burn the entire animal on the altar. This is a burnt offering to the LORD ; it is a pleasing aroma, a special gift presented to the LORD." NLT

No wonder the number of Memorial partakers have been increasing instead of decreasing as expected. The 144,000 become perfect and immotal instantly at death when they are resurrected to heaven. They don't have to wait 1000 years for perfection and immortality like the Armageddon survivors on earth. Also, the 144,000 don't have to go through a second Armageddon. ABSURD!

I was raised to be a JW. 21 years, but never baptized. I wasn't very good at it. Ultimately it was the thought of being "made perfect" and living on a perfect paradise Earth, surrounded by all perfect JW neighbors, that led to me leaving the religion. Paradise just seemed so utterly BORING. Why would I want to have my soul and personality sterilized. Changed into something unrecognizable. What is the point of life if there is no struggle or adversity? No freedom or danger? Nothing to strive for? No urgency to life? No growth or change? Just bland-nothing garden. No thanks. Also the whole genocide of 99.9% of the world population . . And we're supposed to be on the good side? It never reconciled for me.

This video is on point, thanks. As a disfellowshipped ex jw this ‘hope’ promised from the witness doctrine is what got my parents and many other desperate young family couples during the 80’s-90’s hooked on the organisation and its bible based coercion. Objectively looking at the jw theology helps to understand how biased these teachings are to a person that needs to grow and support themselves in this world. Please make more content like this, younger generations need to be informed of this stuff instead of committing to a religion or belief system that is only out to profit from there naivety and hopelessness. I still believe in God or ultimate creator but to think this organisation is dictating everything my family does(including when they choose to communicate with me) and blurs lines of morality within itself makes me sad but still think there’s a greater mind that put our reality together. I don’t know if I’ll see my dead loved ones again like the bible promises through jw teachings but being able to let go of the fact that it may never happen allows me to see things less emotionally and not be too worried I’ll never talk to my family or childhood friends ever again either. It’s a lonely world as an ex jw as nobody wants to know me when they find out my life has been shaped around these ideals but I want others like me to know you do NOT have to kill yourself or destroy your body, and there are many ways to continue surviving with the hope of enjoying each day as it comes and learning about life on earth from other perspectives ✌🏽♥️

I always thought to myself that I'd never make it. It seemed unfair of how many hoops we had to jump through. We're suppose to fight so hard against our imperfection just to possibly die once we got to Part II. It makes no sense. I remember telling myself that I was okay with dying in Armageddon just to get it over with. I just was incapable to envisioning myself in paradise. Also I the video clips of Jesus are always to triggering for me.

Meanwhile, Armageddon's connection with the year 1914 becomes ever more obscure with the addition of an "overlapping generation"! Never mind though, this overlapping generation is "not excessively long, and it has an end" (Watchtower Apr 15, 2010). How strange that since that Watchtower the length of this overlapping generation has never been mentioned!

So God can raise people from the dead thousands of years after their deaths, he can restore them to their youth... but he can't enable them to speak the new language? They all have to go to 'newspeak' school? Isn't that a bit silly? Another question (and maybe the literature does say something about this?): What about children who died as infants? They'll get a resurrection, obviously, but since they didn't live very much, how would they recognize their parents or other family? How would a person who only lived a few months in the 'system of things' be able to navigate the 'new system' at all, if they never went through childhood/adolescence? Does the Society have some kooky idea for them, too? Do you know?

Hmmm.... About the language(s), my guess is that the god would def NOT WANT to restaure THAT faculty. It is the key that wakens human ancestral memories, and there will be those annoying multilinguals.. Too powerful, too smart aleck, or just plain smart, perhaps? Better delete all complex linguistic skills, and just teach them the extreme basics, with a couple of words (YES SIR) in order to remain the SUPREME BOSS.

For language we assumed it was the babble method of speech see god confused everyone to not speak to one another in an instant so when he brings everyone back they'll already have it installed in their minds for the common speech they may retain their birth language but they will speak one common one the instant they open their eyes as god fixed them like babble. An infant doesn't need to identify their parents that's a built in system a toddler, a nine year old might be a better fit here but they will just know. My family assumed those who live to get to the paradise earth would be reverted to a more youthful state anyhow but that wouldn't matter to a child who had never seen their parent in their 20s for instance as the child would just know this was their parents because you bet the parent would know their child. Classes will be taught in the paradise earth for all those who awaken those classes are only spoken of as in learning the bible what else is unclear but it is assumed it will unfold as needed.

I love how they picture all this open space, where animals run free and humans will have acres of land. I've always had a problem with this. I would state that "how would there be enough land for ALL the people that died since the human existence, and now resurrected, along with all the existing JW's? Oh and wait, the entire world will be a paradise? So, there's no more Oceans, Jungles and what about the Arctic regions with the snow/ice? That is all a delicate balance of this planets eco system. None of this makes any sense from any kind of logical thinking mind.

@17:11 The Great Crowd’s names are written in pencil in the book of life! Their names can therefore be easily erased. There's no guarantee of everlasting life although JWs entice prospective converts with the belief that they're going to live forever.

i remember being raised a witness the first time i realized that we would have to clean everything after armageddon and Jehovah wouldn't just miraculously make everything perfect i felt betrayed and lied to you're telling me that after surviving the great tribulation and doing all this work now im gonna have to clean up all the trash in the world i think thats when i started to realize its all bs but i kept trying to believe to make my mom happy i never heard about the burying all the bones i thought they would be incinerated like they were cremated

I believe that God wants us to be independent and live our best life as long as we follow universal laws set in place. No other human should rule you and you will not rule another. You rule and reign over yourself and as long as you live within universal law God will protect you from all harm. This is manifesting his kingdom that dwells within your bodily temple!

As an ex-pit boss for market plays, I was always open to hear about what works when it comes to motivating people. From the JW's I learned the value of 'futuring' - both the punters at the other end of the phone, and those who toiled on the phones. Futuring works ... until it doesn't. People do tend to wake up form time to time. But while it works, toss the lemmings the odd bone and they'll keep on believing.

This is the video I was hoping someone would make. Even without commentary the published beliefs on paradise are a dystopian hell scape. The video is fantastic but I wish you'd included that you'll still be gay in the new system and have to fight your gayness forever. Also that the new light is Jehovah will resurrect people with physical disabilities, old, or other issues. So you get to come back with one eye and no legs I guess. Otherwise perfect, fantastic way of presenting the information you too.

My mother (who is still a JW) told me when I was a very young child that she couldn't wait for the New System so she could travel the world and build houses and see the planet. And the most painful thing my mother ever said to me was in response to me, a six year old, asking worriedly if I'd be accompanying her. I remember it word for word, nearly thirty years later. "No, I won't have to be your mother in the New System, I'll be free." I love my mother dearly, she's as good to me as she knows how to be, but every single thing she's said or done that has hurt me has stemmed from this fucking cult.

@7:57 Revelation 20 states that the only thing that will be taking place during Christ’s thousand-year reign is the abyssing of Satan and the first HEAVENLY resurrection. There's *NO EARTHLY RESURRECTION* or mention of JW Armageddon survivors who will experience a reversal of the ageing process, become immortal and live forever, experience perfect health, see their dead loved ones again etc.

@5:30 According to this reasoning, every day in the Bible = 1000 years and every 1000 years = Christ's thousand year reign. What in Acts 17:31 indicates that Judgement Day is not a literal 24 hr. day? There is nothing in Revelation 20 that equates Christ’s thousand year reign with the Judgement Day at Acts 17:31.

My wife woke up very disgusted when she learned the teaching on the Mediator and the song number 25 which is dedicated to the anointed. On the Insight book Vol. 2, under Mediator only the anointed have Jesus as their Mediator, and on the book “Security under the Prince of peace” Chapter 1 paragraph 16!
