My highly educated family came to my son’s baptism when he was 14 and the Bethel speaker made it clear that higher education is not a goal for JW’s - my family was livid which caused family strife. Needless to say, our son went to college.

Now this is what a livestream should be. Eric is brilliant, and I'm all for any show he's on. And I've wondered every now and again as to how "Russell" is doing. He's a lovely guy, and I see he's still holding that Ray Franz would've done better by remaining on the GB and somehow reforming the organization. I still find myself shaking my head when listening to him explaining his reasons for being a believer. But he is a great interlocutor and I think we all benefit from having someone honestly explaining his position. Fantastic show.

Oh the governing body loves to get together to study the Bible but rank and file members get reprimanded, shunned, and disfellowshipped for getting together to study the bible. They don’t lie. 59:03 I can totally attest to that. By the time I got out I already had a family to pay for, so college is outta the question now. But I have learned SO MUCH from the internet and independent reading. When I was in school just passing was a constant struggle from 1 all the way to 12. I remember thinking "if I'm not going to read the kingdom hall books (because i found them so boring) then what's the point in reading any man made books." This group is so detrimental to collecting knowledge, in a lot of ways.

I, too, was a longtime user or PC. I started with BHA body lotion as it worked amazingly on those chicken skin bumps on upper arms. Probably 15 years. Seriously. I think the parts in the Old Testament where the Israelites were at war with Nations was because I think the angels transgressed again after the flood. That’s why, when one like Joshua maybe was going to spy a land, said they were like tiny ants compared to the people in the land, was because they had at least some mix with angels. I can’t prove it. Reading 2 books by Gary Wayne that discusses this maybe happening. I believe the cult was created TO traumatize Believers, and make them into Non-Believers. I’m not saying everyone that leaving that is now atheist is because of that, but that religious trauma, scaring kids about the God/Devil scenario, it’s necessary to stop believing. My little brother seems to have stopped believing partly because of that, as well as some evidence from Dawkins, and stuff. I believe but am trying to do unbiased research. One thing about either Dawkins or the other major guy, was that one is a high level Freemason. It actually does have a creed and to be one, you have to be a believer. Darwin was too. The other thing I cannot reconcile is coming from Apes, or Amoebas or whatever. So I went to UCD for almost my Bachelors. Family intervened sabotaging things. My major was Anthropology. I took Evolution from Dr Henry McHenry a semi famous Evolutionist/Anthropologist who regularly went to Africa, and knew the Leakeys who supposedly discovered all kinds of Australopithecus africanus bones…We examined the castes which were white and pink. The pink areas were the actual tiny fragments they found that were their bones, like facial bone fragments but, I noticed that they’d have a tiny pink area on the flat part of the forehead, but the (imagined) white area was rendered as this broad brow area, the other eye socket and nose area didn’t suggest a super high ridge, yet there it was. The jaw maybe was right, other stuff maybe okay, but much wasn’t really proving what they portrayed. I am a portrait artist, did sculptures of faces. I enjoyed my Archeology and that’s what I wanted to become, but didn’t finish. Hunters and Gatherers class was cool and I would still totally recommend doing Anthropology! I recorded most of my classes on microcassetes and hope to put them all on DVDs with background sound fixed😄👍
