I loved this the first time I saw the whole thing on TV. Seeing this excerpt now, with so much trouble there, was precious because I constantly fear for the legacy of art and architecture that seems always in danger. Thank you for this.

I was just about to add a comment about a daydream - when I listen to his often humorous talks, I long for a flying carpet- I swoop in, fringe and all, at tea time and we soar everywhere! He adds a wonderful sense of the playful! My major at university, oh to have had him for a prof! Wonder if he is a "hard marker" ?! Namaste, Z

Wonderful documentary, Waldy. I fell in love with Iran in 1975, when I travelled overland to spend months there. 😊

So this is slightly older film? I was concerned about Waldemar’s weight lost but this is before he (shall we say?…) filled out?

At 2:59. That is conceivably one of the most unique mausoleums I have ever seen. Up there with the Taj Mahal. It's breathtaking. Thanks to this art critic for providing us a glimpse of this wondrous 1,000-year old masterpiece.

One thing needs to be stated clearly : the local warlord did not build anything ! His business was ruling and killing, real work was left to able people. He ordered that tower to be built.

Zoroastrianism oldest surviving faith in the World? No it isn't 600 BCE to 650CE meaning both Judaism and Hinduism are both more than a thousand years older.
