Yeah doing what I can with Archeage to fill the void until the next game comes out. The next game was going to be Ashes of Creation, but since that was delayed I may jump to something coming out this summer just to stay busy.

What do you think about enchantrix? I really like the idea of playing songs and cc'ing If it's okayish, what gear should i be using? in terms of weapons, club and shield?(so i can switch to cleric and farm for gear) i think i'll be going plate so the shield should be a magic defense one right?

So I go into a lot more detail in the new Class Theroy Video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZeonoyYq7-mns0 For a short answer You can do Plate, with a Club and Shield, and if you do a shield it should be a magic defense shield to kill in that hole.

@@MrJammers I find that works ok. As soon as you have a healing weapon you can start throwing out Holy Bolts for Damage. The new flame holy bolt is sick.

I absolutely love being the Bard in all games! The one unit that's garbage, but in a group makes everyone much better than they possibly could and a team truly becomes better than the sum of it's parts! Looking forward to Unchained I found that ArcheAge Calculator thing and fiddled with it: though I have basically no ArcheAge knowledge I went with my RPG experience and Poxbane (Defense, Song, Witch) was the one ringing for me OR Caretaker (Defense, Song, Vitalism) but now that I see this video I have to ask... Is it OK to STAY Bard? The lack of scaling makes it ideal to start out, but I won't get much stronger on my gear either it seems. Unless I take Caretaker maybe for the spot regens, which would scale with my gear? TL;DR: Is it OK to stay bard-style even when well geared in ArcheAge?

No, you can be a bard for the entire game. If you are going to do that, you will want to build a club though, for Noryette Challenge the one support is expected to heal and bard.

Bard is highly needed in PvP. You want 1 or 2 dedicated bards per raid given that they also do the debuffing.

I'm looking at Song/Shadowplay/Vital and wondering if I should stick with cloth or go for plate since I'd like to be as survivable as possible and my ping is very high. Would love to hear peoples opinions on this :) Would be aiming to be pure support bard btw.

I don't play Archeage anymore, and I haven't for about a year now. Songcraft / Shadowplay / Vitalism in plate would still be my go-to Pure Bard build though.

After watching this video i'm 100% going bard and maybe switching to healer in the future! But I have some questions. I don't have a lot of time to play, so I value getting things done fast. 1. What skill trees and/or combinations of skill trees are most viable to level and grind(endgame) along with songcraft and maybe vitalism? 2. In leveling, should get to 55 on a dps class and then level the other trees or should I level in the class I want now(vitalism+songcraft+?)? 3. In the context of grinding hiram and doing daily quests, is it painful to do as a bard or a healer in comparison to a dps or is it still pretty doable? 4. In large pvp scenarios, a bard should be worrying more about receiving physical or magical damage. I am not playing AA now and I though magic damage could be the major concern because a bard would be in the middle of the group. Is this logic correct? Thank you for the great content and for the attention you give us!

Don't level as bard, level as anything else then at 55 swap over a tree to one you really want. I recommend Battlerage. Grinding Hiram you can do as a healer after Ancestral 10 and you have Ancestral HOly Bolt In large PvP a bard should be worried about both types of damage, but I can't predict how the unchained servers are going to be.

I think it scales off healing percentage to be honest, but I'd have to take a look at the damage.

hi, i'm a new subscriber and interested in main barding with a tomb warden. I can't find much newer info for unchained builds. I'm thinking plate with club/shield?...or is spirit not the important stat without vitalism. I used to play templar but i heard it's not going to be so great now with the self heal nerf. Is that true?...thanks.

So you don't need healing power or spirit with Songcraft since it doesn't scale. However, if you take a Club you can branch off and be a healer, if you take a scepter you can branch off and do magic damage. It really all depends on if you want to be a lifetime bard or not.

Barding is good. Every group needs a bard. You don't want to sacrafice those buffs.

Being a bard takes commitment and more "personal interest". Even without gear many other classes will do better than a full time bard. It's an actual support class that AA always lacked in the past. Definitely going to bard in AAU, manage to build a magic dps bard lul

yo quick question about songcraf for the current version. when i cast perfom songs (insta cast) then follow up with a skill, do the effects of the buff follow through? how long do they last? for example can i use ode to recoovery and jst heal my self with vitalism and keep the ode to recovery buff? if i use startling strain on an enemy then perform songs blooody chantey and buulwark ballad does the enemy get debffs, does the debff effect continue ieven if i stop performing and attack the enemy? sorry for the nooob questions if so how long does the song effect last?

Any non-performance song breaks the cycle of performance songs and once they end they stop.

Yeah 4 seconds is when they wear off. Unless you are looking at post 5.0 changes when you could keep the songs running on you with the abyssal skill

Well the only way you can get the gear you want for some classes is to go and do the bulk raids. If you don't have the gear for your class to be effective, then you can be a Bard and help everyone else be effective. Bloody Chanty increases all your big Damage Dealers damage and attack speed. So you could go along and add say 200 DPS with your low end horrible gear. Or you could help their DPS go up 600+ total due to your songs. I mean play the game anyway you want, but if you want to jump in and feel uselful right away, this is the way to do it.

@@ParadoxGamingNetwork I understand that songcraft is the spec that has the most utility but not everyone is happy just sitting there playing music. It's dull and non-interactive, I played this game a while back and am returning to it. I am fine grinding out for gear but I remembered the big issue with the game now, it wasn't the p2w which was clearly what everyone though the issue was with the game. It's the gear scaling and it will always be the gear scaling. If you look at other games (non korean) like Guild wars 2 or ESO they both have gear scaling but its minimal I think Gw2 probably takes it a bit too far with the last tier being non statistical upgrade but more cosmetic and qol. You need gear to play this game and have fun otherwise it's a part-time job until then. This wasn't really bashing you for saying that it was just trying to point how how stupid this game is designed.

They fixed a lot of the gear scaling issues with Hiram Gear. Once you have your set of T3 Hiram you close the game even with people who have Erenor gear, mainly because of the stats on Hiram gear. I do, however, 100% agree that the gear situation is messed up and needed to get fixed. Archeage suffered because the way gear was scaled and obtained.

Sadly I have been quite ill since last October. Docs kept treating me with ineffective methods. Now I'm sort of stuck in limbo. I've sort of left AA since I didn't really like the 5.x changes and it wasn't fun anymore.

@@slackerpope 5.3 broke the game for me because it became more and more themeparky and less and less Sandboxy. Best accessories - 5 man dungeon. Hasla war = instance.
