Nice technique, maybe you could turn down the output of the last plugin to give you finer control on the fader. Bit of a pain blending stuff in around -40, the slightest change and you jump 2 dB. Just an idea

Awesome tip. Hopefully having this in parallel for the sizzle on my drums + some parallel compression to give my kicks some extra low-end oomph will really get my drums slamming 👌
@bassc3 ай бұрын
Saturn has parallel via the mix knob, inserting a band to leave out the low-end, and compression (dynamics knob) all built in. It alone is a great toolbox, but appreciate the aux approach for a bit more control and flavour.

When over creativity becomes an enemy people get lost out of focus.. We that are ADVANCE knows all can be done inside the Saturn also .But do we still use SATURN the answer is know we're above that... 😂

no phase issues ? would it work for synth and synthbasses ? thanks streaky

Been doing that some time now. I prefer adding layers and layers of hihats, just to get the unison in the highs

This is awesome. done similar on vocals but just skipped over the parallel processing on a drum bus

Hey streaky, about your other video about using the Pro-l2 as clipper in the drum bus to cut the peaks, I just want to know how it will affect the transients?

I'm surprised you didn't put the low cut before the saturation. Any reason why you put it after?
@doansai3 ай бұрын
I believe in this way you're able to saturate your parallel track while listening the whole spectrum, and then filter the part that would overlap and compromise the volume balance you already made (in my opinion)
@NopeyNopesworthyIIIАй бұрын
@@doansai you could put the low cut as the first thing on the send channel though. It would be interesting to compare the sound on the two, because you would theoretically be increasing harmonics on the low frequencies that aren't present anymore if the saturation in first 🤔

hello Streaky, very good content, I have been following your channel for a while now, and I came across some of your videos about mastering and limiters and you suggested turning off TRUE PEAK LIMITING and use oversampling and leave leave -0.5 ceiling instead, my question now is how do u account for the -2dBTP advised by sites like Spotify, because after encoding it might sound kind of distorted on sites like Spotify and Instagram, thank you

For insane fat sounding Drums, i dial the dynamics knob in Saturn all the way right and the left fader for the Bass all Up and a little bit down for the crunshy Sound i like.
