When it comes to the parallel park, there are lots of different ways of doing it.
With my learners, I have found that this technique is the easiest to get right. This doesn't mean that the other ways are wrong. Do whichever one you feel works best for you.

As an ADI for 23 years, this is by far the easiest to teach and learn, I have always taught this method unless they come to me with another method which works for them, then no way would I confuse them by changing it. The angle which I tell them to do the first right turn is when the car is about 45 degrees angle to the kerb, as you say, between 1 and 2oclcock. Or, the sam angle at which they would drive away from that same parking spot. I shall refer my pupils to this channel. Thanks

just practise, do it slowly and if you have a reversing camera, check on your position with that. On the other hand, once you are in a nice position, behind another vehicle, drive out of that same position and make a note of how you look and how your position appears because it is the opposite of reversing in. Just take your time. No one about, no rush, no passengers.

I tried this method on my last lesson and found it easy to remember compared to the first way I was being taught.. my instructor said I was too far back (im sure i was within 2 car lengths though) and car wasnt totally straight when i had completed it.. instructor wants me to keep gping with first method :( better keep practicing. Also what i liked about this method is that its much easier to get out after it has been completed. Where as the first way its much closer and harder to get the car away when the park has been completed.

He gave several reference points in this video. Turning when wheels are line. Turning again once you reach 45 degrees. Turning again when mirror is 'touching' the kerb. Turning again when straight.
