An ex-sister-in-law had run up about $115,000 in credit card debt. She kept the debt secret from my brother and would get new cards and transferred the debt numerous times. She rented a PO Box so that the statements never came to the house. The only good thing was that except for her last fling of about $6aK, all the debt was in her name alone and the credit card companies couldn’t come after my brother. The best we can figure is that she probably had debt she hid when they were married and then kept building it for the 6 years they were married.

As far as the paint that applies pink, and dries white, within one hour: that would depend on the moisture, material, humidity, and temperature. It’s possible that if the paint were poured onto a liquid (blood), or mixed with the liquid (water, cleaning chemicals), it could take several hours to dry, possibly even much longer. Also, if you applied moisture to the Drying paint, it may return to pink, because it’s been remoisturized. Thus, go from white back to pink, if it were not already entirely dry. Obviously, I have no idea how pouring such paint onto cloth or clothing or wet surfaces, such as a clothed body, and various amounts of blood, would effect the properties of the paint that is supposed to go from pink to white. But it is not reasonable to estimate the time of estimated “dry time” of one hour as relevant to a bloody body, or wet / moist surface. Paint that is supposed to turn from pink to white within approximately one hour, and using that presence or absence of pink color as some sort of a measurement of time, is completely obliterated by the fact that it’s poured onto a wet / moist surface, and also a cloth surface, moist with blood, water, cleaning supplies. The one hour could be utterly irrelevant. In fact, maybe when she returned and saw the paint was still pink she panicked, expecting it should have turned white, dried, but it was still wet? I can see how the jury is not convinced. The one hour issue itself is obviously error ridden.

I am wondering how theses two were able to adopt a child so soon after their marriage. Most couples wait for years and come under great scrutiny when adopting through an agency. Possible this adoption was through a private arrangement that short-cut that process. If this ill-advised adoption had not happened the murder would probably not have taken place. They would have simply divorced.

I saw this case on another true crime channel, a bit more colorful. In that one the info on bloody rag was said to be so disintegrated that DNA evidence could not be ascertained, that in fact, if it was even human blood. There was also evidence of cat hair on victim’s clothing, and they had no cat and Mark had taken Anna’s sleeping bag to his home where his wife and children were and slept in it for two years. I didn’t realize she had fraudulently gotten card in Cara’s name. Were there any suspicions on Carol or Mark. With the credit card capers, they both had motives. What I really have problems with is the conviction of First degree murder that I think means cold blooded premeditation. If I was planning to murder a partner the most unfeasible method would be pushing down stairs. Although many, many have fallen down stairs, the overwhelming majority do not die. I’d want a sure thing. Same with bare handed strangulation, for a woman to maintain that kind of pressure for 4 minutes to ensure death, is very difficult. I couldn’t do it . The only time I have heard of a woman using that method of murder is on a small child. I know slandering the victim is often red flag however, usually that is with perp exaggerating, if not lying and denies any wrong doing on their part usually. However in this case it was true and even if the victim died accidentally, there could still be rage about the finance trouble you are left with. I would. You can be angry at a dead person but doesn’t mean you purposefully killed them. I don’t like your statement she was only suspect. I would have suspected Cara but I would suspect anyone she had run credit cards up on and left with debt in thousands including the lover she left to go back to Cara. Why wouldn’t they be? With complicated crime scene, I’d talk to all who had interactions with her. There could be someone unknown that wouldn’t come up until interviews with other friends might mention. In the other video, Mark’s alibi did not check out as he changed it twice after the original. The paint seems like someone might have wanted to cover and marks, bruises or wounds and make it look more like an accident, knocking over paint as she fell. Your speculation on the paint is just far fetched. About the baby going to neighbor’s, I would have done same thing, if I was carrying my 2 year old and and saw her father at bottom of stairs, called his name and got no response, then having even gone part way down, the first thing I would realize, this would require help and equipment, and I would want my baby not to be exposed to anymore. If she’s old enough to talk, she could realize something was bad wrong with her beloved daddy. I would get her to a safe place first and request help. Rather than stopping to call myself, I’d ask neighbor with my baby and then return to scene. I didn’t realize she turned Anna over into her lap. That even more suggests she was doing her paramedic job, assessing, checking breathing and pulses. Had I not had baby with me, I would have stopped to call 911 myself without leaving house because once you start CPR you cannot stop until relieved by trained person. Have you taken a CPR class? These are steps you are told to do and you will fail certification if you omit any of them. Scene: you see someone who appears unconscious. Step # 1-You call out to them and shake lightly to see if you can rouse them. No response STEP # 2 - check for breathing and pulse. None. STEP # 3- YOU LOOK FOR SOMEONE ONE AND COMMAND THEM TO CALL 911 immediately Step #4 position airway and give 2 quick breaths, then commence rescue breathing and/or CPR. I head the last jury convicted her on that action alone in end. But they convicted her for taking the most appropriate and recommended action! I could see why two juries did not convict her and were hung. I wouldn’t have since there are reasonable doubts especially on the pre-meditated and planning. There is a reason female killers hardly ever use aggressive physical violence with bare hands, because if you are planning poison,”accidental shooting or stabbing” or tampering with car would be most logical. Throwing them down to death should be from high balcony or a cliff. If staging break-in, shooting would be what should be covered up, not push down stairs. How would intruder even know about stairs? To me stairs would be simply impulsive.

There is definately room for doubt. It was a messed up relationship , mainly because of Anne Marine (the partner who was killed )who was narcissistic and probably sociopathic as well. Cara does come across as co-dependent at the time and rather neurotic to say the least . A very combustible situation .There is no excuse for killing someone of course but I can see how a personality such as AnnMarie's would provoke rage in someone insecure and co-dependent (and even someone who wasn't ,but they may have been able to deal with the situation in a way which was less harmful to both of them.) If she did do it then I think it would have been impulsive. However she still does not strike me as someone who could keep up with a lie for this long though. She is the type to break down and admit it if she did it and she never has. I think it will be a hung jury once again . I know if I was on the jury I could not vote guilty. Even watching her in the interview she strikes me as telling the truth, but it does leave the question then of what did actually happen. The only other suspect is the guy ; so I go round in circles as I don't honestly think it was him either.

AnnaMarie sounds like a sociopath : manipulative charming, compelling and without conscience (running up that debt which probably ruined her friend’s as well as Cara’s credit). I’ll bet the mistrials were really caused by jurors who felt like AnnaMarie “needed” killing. Cara may have pushed Anna, but Anna pushed Cara over the edge well before that.

@@liv0003 Research says otherwise: Lesbian Partner Violence Fact Sheet Suzana Rose, Ph.D. National Violence Against Women Prevention Research Center University of Missouri at St. Louis What is lesbian partner violence? Partner violence in lesbian (and gay) relationships recently has been identified as an important social problem. Partner or domestic violence among lesbians has been defined as including physical, sexual and psychological abuse, although researchers have most often studied physical violence. How common is lesbian partner violence? About 17-45% of lesbians report having been the victim of a least one act of physical violence perpetrated by a lesbian partner (1,5,6,13). Types of physical abuse named by more than 10% of participants in one study included: Disrupting others eating or sleeping habits Pushing or shoving, driving recklessly to punish, and slapping, kicking, hitting, or biting (11). Sexual abuse by a woman partner has been reported by up to 50% of lesbians (12). Psychological abuse has been reported as occurring at least one time by 24% to 90% of lesbians (1,5,6,11,14).

Now that this has come up again on CourtTV, I saw a couple clips of Dr. Grande talking about this murder. I live in Springfield, Massachusetts and Granby is only ten minutes from me. I've gone by that house hundreds of times. A good example that women absolutely can, and often are, the perpetrators of intimate partner violence. I feel for the daughter. I hope she's being well-loved and cared for.

She was a professional poker player, and unbeknownst to all of her friends she was suffering with scitzophrenia for years. Her murderer took advantage of her. Susie's story should be told.

Dr. Grande, please analyze the judge who treated these women as bad siblings rather than the situation as a serious domestic violence situation. He had the chance to derail the escalation of emotional toxicity and danger here but instead left them to handle it themselves with the threat of losing their daughter. Imagine if he had dealt with this case properly.

Okay, here's my question, which I'm sure is actually in some way offensive, but it's a GENUINE. QUESTION. So we know that in heterosexual couples, the man often gets arrested even when the woman is the aggressor. Right? Okay. If a couple is same-sex - how do they decide who is "probably" guilty? Would pretending that opposite-sex couples are both women or both men make assessment of the situation more accurate? Or do they assume it's the more physically intimidating partner? Or....?
