[Verse 1] Drained me dry Down to the last drop Pearls before swine All flowers die Tapped the last good vein Don't know how to shut if off [Pre-Chorus] Yeah, once you get me going I don't know how to stop, I don't know how to stop Once you get me going I don't know how to stop, I don't know how to [Chorus] All for your sake Became the very thing that I hate I lost my way Spinning in an endless figure eight [Verse 2] I won't miss the feeling My flimsy spine, unsuspicious mind I was only being kind But you mistook me for weak [Pre-Chorus] And once I get going I don't know how to stop, I don't know how to stop Going I don't know how to stop, I don't know how to [Chorus] All for your sake Became the very thing that I hate I lost my way Spinning in an endless figure eight [Bridge] Candlelight, candlelight Burning 'til broad daylight Candlelight, candlelight Burning at both ends tonight How could I? How could I? If I'm made of thin ice How could I? How could I? You'd be wise if you thought twice [Chorus] All for your sake Became the very thing that I hate I lost my way Spinning in an endless figure What remains And now I think I'm losing my shape Not a trace No end and no beginning, figure eight

This song is phenomenal (so is every other one on this album lol). It also feels like Pool part 2. The opening melody reminds me of the opening of Pool, the opening lyric "Drained me dry" seems like a reference, and Pool was a dark take on a love song. This song feels like the aftermath and reflecting on it.

Insane how slept on this song is. Killer hook, the fuckin MARIMBA, the shouty interjections, the ambitious high note at the end, the theme of being stuck in this cycle while harkening back to their old sound, illustrating the struggle to change while still innovating and not simply retreading. It’s gonna age really well.

Every single song is a masterpiece, there are just no skips, I really am in love with this sound, I can’t put into words what it makes me feel; it’s dark, aggressive and noisy, yet nostalgic, subtle and deep. Thank you so much for this album Paramore. It is full of statements about myself I didn’t want to listen to, truth I just always ingored, and it feels like awakening, painful awakening. Easily my favorite from this album. God they're still so good. Fucking zac is a monster and taylor seriously sounds like he's figured out how to make a "paramore" song his own way. I hope this stays the permanent Paramore lineup.

Feeling a little dumb after the fact. These guys have been my favorite since '07, but I never really realized how integral Taylor has been to Paramore for so long.
