LYRICS
What a shame, what a shame we all remain
Such fragile broken things
A beauty half betrayed
Butterflies with punctured wings
Still there are darkened places deep in my heart
Where once was blazing light, now
There's a tiny spark
Oh Glory
Come and find me
Oh Glory
Come and find me
Dancing all alone
To the sound of an enemy's song
I'll be lost until you find me
Fighting on my own
In a war that's already been won
I'll be lost until you come and find me here
Oh Glory
What a mess, what a mystery we've made
Of love and other simple things
Learning to forgive
Even when it wasn't a mistake
I question every human
Who won't look in my eyes
Scars left on my heart formed patterns in my mind.
Oh Glory
You will find me
Dancing all alone
To the sound of an enemy's song
I'll be lost until you find me
Fighting on my own,
In a war that's already been won
I'll be lost until you come and find me here
Oh Glory
(I'll be lost until)
Like the moon, we borrow our light
I am nothing but a shadow in the night
So if you let me I will catch fire
To let your glory and mercy shine

@PhoenixDwn. 5 жыл бұрын
@@annieboookhall Again.....that's nice. It's cool you can relate to it and what not, but we are speaking "generally" not personal stories. Hayley Williams herself has even claimed what her best lyrics were in comparison to everything she's ever written for this band, so only SHE would know what her BEST lyric actually is. And if we are reaching to the public and if any of you are day one fans and are great at analyzing different types of literature you would know that this one line is just simply not the strongest. Part II is a very good song and that line is deep, just not as deep as the rest of the lines in the song or any other song of great depth that the band has made. Albums like Brand New Eyes and After Laughter very much neck and neck with what they yield in the lyrics and before After Laughter, Brand New Eyes was still dubbed their strongest lyrical album and if you tear each song apart you'll know why. Again, it's nice you can find meaning in that one line but that doesn't make it the best one ever, countering Hayley's decision, just because you can relate to it, because someone can say the same thing about another song which is why the topic was broad to begin with and why it's being spoken about as a whole. If it were just that that line meant a lot to them, I wouldn't care, but they are saying it like it's 100% true and it's just simply not. But anyways like I said before that lyric just isn't their strongest one to date. Though I will say that that song is one of the most strongest songs in the Self-Titled album along with "Now" "Escape Route" and "Tell Me It's Okay"

hey everybody. let's talk about selling out. Paramore did not "go pop", and they did not "sell out". selling out is NOT when a band changes their sound a bit. it's when a band makes music for the soul purpose of gaining success or fame - which Paramore have NEVER done and will more than likely never do. also - i'll admit "Still Into You" is a pop song... but that does not make Paramore a pop band. Even Hayley in an interview said that she was scared to release that song because people would think they were going pop or changing who they were and taylor told her "if you love it, who cares? Do what you want" so she did. Since when is it a crime to change it up? all some people want is something to complain about. if they kept the same sound, people would complain. So open your mind, and listen to the whole album just btw. bc there are a total of like 3 pop sounding songs and mind you, that doesn't exactly constitute for a pop band... just saying. /rant

Been a fan of Paramore since their debut album, and to be completely honest I completely agree with those saying she isn't the same Hayley, but not in the negative context they present it with. The first time I listened to this song, the lyrics said exactly what I felt in that moment. It was really special, and it's not the first song of Paramore that gives me this experience. It also happened to me with Ain't it fun, Ignorance, Decode, Last Hope, Escape Route, Only Exception... I listened to these songs in different moments of my life and they really helped me to overcome and to understand better those situations. I hate how everyone is saying they 'miss' the old Paramore, well they didn't go anywhere (well accept the Farro brothers) but, still they went no where they have grown as artists. Who wants to make let alone listen to an album that sounds exactly the same as everything else. I will admitt I did not give this album a shot at first because it was SO different. I love it now, I love almost every song on this album just like the previous albums. If you're a true PARAWHORE you will grow with them and never stop loving them. I love the line "Fighting on my own, in war that's already been won." Because that's exactly what's happening when we are in the darkest times of our lives. I always used to love the low, resonating cascade of guitar in Let the Flames Begin. It makes me think of drifting and sinking into isolated but quieter depths underwater. That's the reason it has been my favorite song for years (the lyrics as well). Accidentally stumbled on this when I left my phone to autoplay. My heart leapt into my chest when I heard the opening rifts. I almost cried on the spot. It's like Paramore took all my favorite parts of the song and made it a new song that ramps it to 11. I used Let the Flames Begin to calm and stabilize myself when I was feeling gloomy or stressed. I use this song to revive my will to live, no matter how crushed or hopeless I am.

Mr. Slaking I’m sorry, that’s not allowed. The appropriate procedure is: 1. Talk about the Farro brothers. 2. Complain about how Paramore doesn’t sound like they used to. 3. Anytime you see another rock/ punk band w/ a female singer (PVRIS, Marmozets, Pretty Reckless, etc), compare them to Paramore. (Bonus points for using “when Paramore was good.”) I read this in the How to KZbin manual. It’s in the section behind the “How to Complain about Too Few Views” chapter.
