I like the sound of this. This could mean that Comcast and Paramount Global could have a merger if Peacock and Paramount+ do merge. Comcast has DreamWorks and Paramount Global has Nickelodeon. I miss seeing Nickelodeon and DreamWorks teaming up, and I hope that they'll do it again if Comcast and Paramount do merge. So far, the DreamWorks Nicktoons that Nickelodeon and DreamWorks made are The Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and Monsters vs Aliens (the series). Hopefully, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken will have a DreamWorks Nicktoon show, too. I think Nickelodeon and DreamWorks make a great alliance. I hope Comcast and Patamount Global do merge if they're planning on having Peacock and Paramount+ merge.

Comparing Paramount Plus and Peacock to Netflix is like comparing apples to oranges. You can get your local broadcast, NBC and CBS sports from Paramount and Peacock. Netflix is a totally different animal. Most people subscribe to them for different reasons. It’s not an either/or situation. If you are not listing the things you subscribe to, they shouldn’t even be in the same conversation.

@@ShallIStreamIt hypothetically speaking, if they do merge, will they do the same thing Disney+ is doing? Merging Hulu and Disney plus together, but staying two separate apps? Basically what I'm asking is, will Paramount Plus content be added to Peacock and peacock content being added to Paramount+?
@ShallIStreamIt8 ай бұрын
@jeremyzeigler1565 Paramount+ has more subscribers than Peacock so I'd imagine they would move Peacock's shows over to Paramount+ instead of the other way around. They might change the name to something new entirely, though, even if it's essentially still the "Paramount+" app.

@nickperkins8477 I think Paramount really regretted licensing both South Park and Yellowstone to other outlets, which is why they made all the spin-offs as kind of a workaround.

@jeremyf91248 ай бұрын
Your bill would remain the same for a while. They’d stop allowing new customers on the yearly plan they’re trying to discontinue. They would give you notice, then charge you the then-new monthly price of the combined service. I wouldn’t cancel before the year is up, you may not be able to get any refund for unused service.
@jeremyf91248 ай бұрын
Netflix used to have a $9.99 no ads, 720p resolution plan. They stopped advertising it, and stopped allowing new customers on it. I still have it, it went to $12. If I ever switch plans or cancel, I lose it. Eventually they’ll probably discontinue it when very few customers remain. Shadow plans can continue for years, so don’t worry about it.

Here's a analysis I made the other day in a KZbin comment....should Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal, Paramount Global and even Amazon MGM Studios (if split from Amazon due to the anti-Amazon lawsuit) combine.... - Based on a Quora comment, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon could exist side by side as the edgy kids' channel and light-hearted kids' channel, respectively. While absorbing the non-preschool programming of Discovery Family, Universal Kids, HBO Family and HBO Kids, like what Bloo J said, alongside Nicktoons, Checkered Past, The Splat and Boomerang (Boomerang used to be a Cartoon Network block in the 1990s). And Cartoonito could absorb Discovery Family, HBO Family and HBO Kids according to Bloo J alongside Nick Jr. and Nick Jr. 2. Thus, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Cartoonito combined would be Universal's answer to Disney's own Disney XD, Disney Channel and Disney Junior. - CBS Sports, NBC Sports, Eurosport, Bleacher Report, MotorTrend, TNT Sports and all sports divisions owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal and Paramount Global could be formed as Global Sports or Globe as the combined company's answer to Disney's ESPN. - Like in Canada, Adult Swim could be a full-fledged young adult and teens' content channel by gathering MTV's animated properties and live-action scripted content, AwesomenessTV, TeenNick (and giving the Nickelodeon programming away to Nickelodeon itself), Nick at Nite, Universal's own adult animation shows, G4 and Syfy together to become Adult Swim or G4. - USA, TNT, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Pop, TruTV and TBS and the shows from HBO, Epix and Showtime would soon collide, then combine as one general entertainment channel: UPN (Universal and Paramount and the "New" from New Line Cinema) or The WB or simply USA. - Williams Street would absorb Moonlight and Late Night Cartoons to become the adult animation division of Hanna-Barbera. - HBO, Showtime, Epix and other movie networks each of the four companies have would combine as HBO with the latter two networks' names as additional titles to specific genre channels (like Showtime for old movies and Epix for blockbusters). - MTV, VH1 and CMT could combine to become a full-fledged MTV, being the music content arm of Discovery while Universal could move Discovery's reality TV shows to E! and Discovery itself absorbs Smithsonian Channel, OWN, Bravo, Animal Planet (with Animal Planet being its animal-focused block) and Discovery's other channels to become Universal's answer to Disney's Nat Geo. - Illumination Entertainment would absorb Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Warner Bros. Animation (according to Ares from Reddit), Amblination, Universal Animation Studios, DreamWorks Classics, Paramount Animation and the entire Famous Studios library and the Merry Melodies (as Universal's answer to Silly Symphonies) to become Universal's answer to Walt Disney Animation Studios. - DreamWorks Animation could be kept as Universal's answer to Pixar. - CBS Eye Animation Productions, Cartoon Network Studios, Nickelodeon Animation Studio, MGM's old animated division, Avatar Studios, Universal Animation Studios, Warner Bros. Animation (if Ares from Reddit is to be believed) and DreamWorks Animation Television could form the new Hanna-Barbera. - All three sets from Warner Bros., Paramount and NBCUniversal could be combined as one big mega filming set. - Warner Bros. Discovery's own streamers (Max and Discovery+), Paramount's own streamers (Paramount+ and PlutoTV), Amazon MGM's own streamers (Freevee and Amazon Prime Video) and NBCUniversal's own streamers (Hayu and Peacock) would combine as Universal+ or simply Max or Globe. - Universal Television, Universal Content Productions, Universal Television Alternative, Warner Bros. Television, Telepictures, Paramount Television Studios and CBS Studios and other TV divisions could form as a full-fledged NBCUniversal Television. - NBCUniversal would round up Warner Bros.', Paramount's and Amazon MGM's branding divisions together to form Universal Brands and Experiences or Warner Brands and Experiences. - Sky's channels would each combine with its counterparts (for instance, Sky Nature merges with Animal Planet (UK) to become Animal Planet and Sky Kids' programming would be split between Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Cartoonito). - Universal Parks and Resorts would get Warner Bros., Paramount and Amazon MGM IPs to better expand its theme park offerings for everyone. - Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer or Paramount would be Universal's answer to Disney's own Lucasfilm. - Universal could have Star Trek absorb Warner Bros.' Babylon 5, its own Battlestar Galactica and Amazon MGM's Stargate to become Universal's answer to Disney's Star Wars and have Harry Potter and Jurassic Park be its answer to Disney's Avatar and Indiana Jones. - DC Comics would absorb Mirage Studios and Paws, Inc. and gain access to Harvey Comics' superheroes alongside Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Paramount and Universal IPs. - New Line Cinema could absorb Orion Pictures, American International Pictures, Republic Pictures, Gramercy Pictures and Focus Features to become a indie/foreign films label for Universal. - The MonsterVerse would see Jaws, Jurassic Park, Pacific Rim, Transformers and Inhumanoids (under a deal from Hasbro), Child's Play, Paranormal Activity, the Hammer horror monsters, the Universal Monsters, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Cloverfield to become a cinematic universe full of modern monsters and classic monsters. - If this were all pulled off, a new fully-fledged Universal would beat Disney in terms of general entertainment content. And here are some divestments that could be done. - Spin off Fandango as its own company and spin-off Vudu the video store as a competitor to Apple's app store and Amazon's digital media store and fold Vudu the streamer into the third super-streamer. - Spin off CBS and CNN and sell them to Fox Corporation to rebrand it as CNN so that Disney can own the Fox trademark. - Sell Warner Bros. Games and Amazon Luna and gaming assets to Atari (since Warner used to own Atari) and have Atari rename it back to Midway. And have Universal license its characters to other gaming companies, like Disney has with its characters. - The television/streaming rights and theme park rights to 20th Century and Marvel properties could be sold to Disney. - Twitch could be sold to KZbin or TikTok or Fandom. - IMDB could be sold to Fandom. And the combined company would be renamed The MCAUniversal Group.

NBC and CBS merging, Peacock is worlds better than Paramount plus. I think Paramounts+ content is weak. I’ve had it twice in the last year with special offers from Roku. I like to watch movies and there is not much difference in their content from a year ago to today when it comes to movies. I don’t watch their own shows except for the Frasier reboot. But movies it seems like they just bounce their movies back and forth every month between Paramount+ and Showtime. I did watch the Super Bowl and CBS playoff games on Paramount+. So that was worth my $1.99 a month for three months special.
