Moving from factory rifles to custom was one of the best decisions I've ever made. And the price point of those MPA rifles is awesome! Would highly recommend to anyone who's serious or getting serious about long range shooting or rifles in general to just go ahead and pick up something nice. Some of those rifles are the same price as Tikka T3X TAC-A1s! That's crazy!

@@Paintballguru92 My full custom was WAY more than an MPA, lol. A grand for my Bartlein barrel two grand for Defiance action at least a grand for my XLR chassis, and there was still the trigger (Bix'N Andy), muzzle brake (Ultradyne), rings scope and bi-pod

Seems like adding a bipod will help move the balance point forward, a little bit anyway. I ordered the pro ii with folding stock exactly purpose of cleaning. I like that a lot. I shoot a savage precision currently, that has an adjustable cheek riser and I have to loosen set screws and lower it every time I clean it. Not hard, except I never have adjusted quite the same.

A bipod will move the balance point forward dramatically but it doesn’t matter if you’re shooting from the bipod. Where balance point matters is shooting from barricades/positional shooting which is a major portion of PRS. Most people aren’t going to be running a bipod during those events.

I am not a huge fan of custom actions since I have competed for decades with blueprinted Springfield, Mauser, Winchester, and Savage actions. Buttery Smooth is not something I can measure down range. In this case though at $2600 for a complete rifle I can not think of any reason not to like it. I think $2600 for a rifle ready to mount an optic and go compete with this is very reasonable. Now if we can just get the prices of big name brand optics down not going to hold my breath on that one! If you put an Arken Optic on it you could be all in for $3000. If you go Mark IV or NightForce or March you will be pushing $5600 to $7000 depending on if you buy new or used!

May I inquire further? When you say the 300 prc us “soft shooting”, is that a joke because it has heavy recoil, or are you serious that an 8 pound rifle plus scope in 300 prc really does not kick that much? @paramounttactical6 ай бұрын
The PPR has a manners 2TA stock which isn’t a chassis and costs less than a ESR chassis. So you have a manners stock paired with a Curtis action which is what MPA used to use but now uses the better more expensive ARC Coup De Grace action. Given the sum of the parts are significantly cheaper I don’t know how GAP justifies the price of their gun. The Manners stock is over $400 less than the ESR chassis and yet the base price of the rifle is $400 more. Makes no sense to me. With the MPA you’re getting more for the money. You get a built in Arca rail, mlok compatibility, night vision bridge, the option of a folding stock, a rifle that can be used for PRRS, a better action… $3000 for a PPR makes zero sense in comparison.

Yeaap , left out the most important feature , this action has been designed around using a AI AW mag , and thats the best & most important thing about this rifle . If you have ever run a AI AW , you will know how good this magazine is , forget the rest , run it with a AW mag from AI .

I've had two MPA production rifles. Both 6.5 creedmoor. The first one was amazing and shot .375 groups all day long, reloads or factory. It was amazing. The second one was a piece of garbage. I believe X-caliber made the barrel and it was junk. After several emails and phone calls, MPA never made it right. All they did was suggest using different projectiles that were virtually impossible to procure. That garbage rifle ended up costing me the regional finale. I will never buy another MPA production class rifle again. Hopefully the changes they have made are for the better. I do love their chassis's though. Still run a BA Comp and have a Matrix as well.

This scares me I'm looking at getting 2 MPAs and this does concern me. You think it was a barrel issue? I wonder if you can choose other barrel manufacfurers......if im going to spend 10K$ i would hope they shoot less than MOA.
@paramounttactical4 ай бұрын
@@josephquinney8209 we’ve sold over 400 rifles without accuracy ever being an issue. You can look up any barrel manufacturer or any rifle manufacturer and find anecdotal problems. We’ve never seen an issue or an MPA response to a problem like mentioned above. MPA machines every barrel to match every action so by going with a different barrel you are hundreds of times more likely to cause problems rather than fix them. I don’t know the time frame of the story above but barrels have never been an issue for the 3 years we’ve been selling and personally using MPAs. We have 8 of them we use for student rifles I own 4 others for personal use. Never had an issue.

wow. masterpiece arms now offering an American rifle CDG and TT... That's full blown custom territory right there.

This video gave me a push to look at them just to see they don't offer it in 7 rem mag, lol just my luck... 300 win mag but not 7 rem mag, so I guess I get one in 300 win mag and buy another rifle from another company in 7 rem mag.😂 wife will kill me

Why not 300PRC or 7PRC? You’ll get significantly better performance out of both.

@paramounttactical I guess I just haven't cross over into the fan club of PRC just yet... not sure if it's availability thing, cost, or just simply a mental hangup... I'm the same way with the creedmoor family too... I would hate to get trapped into a fad ammo and spent a lot of money on a rifle set up for it to not have a proven track record, which is why I can get behind a 300 win mag. It has proven history and ammo availability.

@paramounttactical , also it's good to see guys who cross over Iraq 20 years ago doing well. I take it, you were army, 3rd ID (that's all i remember who crossed with us), I was with the Marines with task force tarawa. Keep rocking these videos, I'm glad I came across them.

William take the leap. We are continually seeing less and less rifles rifles chambered in the classic cartridges and that will only correlate to ammo manufacturing moving forward. It's not a fad, Hornady cartridges expecially in the last decade or two dominate the market.
