My interpretation of the song A child prodigy who discovered and became passionate about playing the piano. Her life starts to revolve around her career as a pianist. Based on the images that were shown I'm assuming that she has sacrificed multiple things including relationships in her pursuit of her career. The pressure starts to build up, her career has turned into her whole identity which leads her to believe that she is nothing if she fails to reach expectations. ("playing for my life, warding off my death") - "it has turned not a page of the sheet music, but my whole life upside down" - a parasite essentially is an organism that derives nutrients at the expense of others, she describes the piano as the parasite - im assuming the character with the mask is a personification of said piano

Can I just point out that piano playing animation at the end is actually accurate, the keys her fingers press are really the ones used in the actual melody! And the rhythm is correct too Also the quick X-ray of her hand at 1:26 implies she injured her wrist playing so much, and at 1:41 you can see there's bandages around the same wrist

The eyes when "the piano" touches her are those that actual snails infected by a parasite develop. There is a lot of hidden detail.

One thing I noticed about the mv is the "tubes" that seems to be bulging out of the girls' eyes or head (seen in the thumbnail) and I think that's a reference to an actual parasite called green-branded broodsac. It basically only invades snails and birds, but it's mostly known because of turning snails into zombies and making the tentacles bulge outwards just like the "tubes" seen on the girl. It's a nice detail.

Amazing performance. I think this songs expresses the struggle to/yearn for recognition. The piano was once a tool to help the girl achieve her dreams, but it ended up becoming her whole identity. As she struggles to tell whether she's more than what she does, which is playing it, she realises how consuming it is to keep up with what she had done so far, to the point it becomes a vicious cycle between trying to reach out to the dream she wanted in the beginning vs the seeking for approval, the only reason for what she's meant to keep playing it. It's somewhat a similar feeling to when the artist becomes devoured by their creation, or when they're recognised solely by what they achieved so far. What about the human that lies behind all those things? Have your achievements become all of you?

idk why but this really made me cry, it made me feel the emotions of when you love something so much but you hate it because it takes over you so much. Music is a good representation even though this can apply to many things, because many things are easy to be passionate about it. The more you rely on what you love the more it swallows you whole and you can find a big hate in it. You sacrifice so many things for it too. I just realized this was uploaded on my birthday... And coincidentally, I do have a connection to this song. I used to play my grandmother's piano as a child for fun, and would occasionally play the one at a church I used to go to, and since then I've still wanted to play it even more. I've dreamed of learning how to play it properly for years now, but I can't afford lessons, let alone the instrument itself. And since I've moved into my apartment, I have nowhere I would put it either. But how I still want to learn... The piano must really be a parasite... Was this fate of some form...?
