Hey guys, did you know that in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokemon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch.

Fun fact about umbreon! If outfitted with mean look, sand attack, growl, and rest, umbreon has enough bulk to switch in on basically any pokemon, sit on them till they run out of pp, or till surrender (at least in gen 2)

Yes! They already kinda did this with Gyarados/Milotic both being water snakes with inverted stat spreads. Eevee currently only evolves into types that started out as Special (before the physical/special split). This makes sense considering their svelte/graceful designs look like special attackers. It would be cool to have a new Pokemon that serves as Eevee’s physical counterpart. Give it a more butch design that works well with the original Physical types.

I’m just gonna say it. Leafeon is the most unloved Eeveelution there is. Even in official sources. Nobody ever says Leafeon’s their favourite, or even cites it as a good Eeveelution. And, in the two examples of Eeveelution show-off in the anime ( Virgil’s team and the Chloe’s Eevee adventures) it was nowhere. Virgil never once used Leafeon onscreen and it didn’t get an episode to itself, like others did, in the Chloe’s Eevee saga. Leafeon badly needs some love.

I really appreciate Leafeon, and I'd say it's one of my top favorite Grass Pokemon. They could've easily went with an overly floral/leafy design for a grass Eeveelution, but Gamefreak is wiser than that. I'm glad they scaled back and gave it a more earthy palette with only bits of plants sticking out.

Fun fact! Umbreon was originally going to be POISON type! This was before they properly designed the Dark type (Aku type, evil), and at the moment they wanted to do an "evil" Eeveelution. Why not ghost? Because ghosts in Japan society are not necessarily evil, that's why Gengar is also a Poison type (And yes, that helped them leaning into the deadly gas of Gastly). So, during a time, Umbreon was planned to be a Poison type, hence why their sweat is toxic!

What about cynderquill before it was fire it was poison and there was an original set of starter Pokémon chikorita was the only default that wasn’t scrapped for the main game itself! So it is clear that yes umbreon was originally meant for the poison type but so was cynderquill.

We can't say for sure if it was set in stone at that time but all the evos are exclusively types that were special in Gen 1-3. Maybe Dark being special and related to the Ghost type allowed it to be a better fit for what they envisioned. After all, all the evos have high Special Attack and Don't need physical stab (ignores flareon)

Leafeon is a cross between a fox and a bunny; basically resembling a predator/prey relationship where it feeds itself. It also shows similarities to jack rabbits, particularly in its diet of both plant matter and [redacted] matter. Because you know, it feeds itself.

In college I took a class called philosophy in chemistry. One of the concepts we discussed was how the 4 greek elements of earth, wind, water, and fire are sort of represented in the periodic table as carbon (earth), hydrogen (water), oxygen (fire), and nitrogen (air). Leafeon is my favorute pokemon of all times. I first used it in pokemon Y. Since I needed a grass type and thought it would be nice to evolve my eevee into it. Since then it never disapponted me, was very strong and became my fav mon. I always have it in every possible pokemon game. I also have 7 different leafeon plushies just beside one of my monitors. And many other stuff with it. It is just the best :) When it comes to umbreon, I made a very cute painting of it just aa few days ago, that glows in the dark.

My top 8 eevees! 1- Glaceon: i just think it looks really beautiful and cute, ever since i seen it for the first time I feel in love with it. I really love winter and snow. So ice types become easily my favorite. (I also have a bias for blue...) And my dream as a child was to see snow. So this pokemon really spoke to me. (as silly as this sounds, but i was like 12 years old at the time.) I remember watching that one pokemon episode where Dawn's Piplup and May's Glaceon fought, Glaceon just looked so confident and cool, and something about that really excited me. and I was cheering so hard for Glaceon. Back then I was really disappointed when Glaceon lost, but it is what is is and its funny thinking about it. its been my favorite for nearly 6 years now. :) _ 2- Umbreon: it used to be my favorite before I was really into pokemon and didn't know all the eeveelutions. I only knew the kanto trio and the gen 2 eevees. I liked Espeon and its cat like design (im very much a cat person, so i tend to like pokemon that resembles them) but there was just something about Umbreon that I always liked it more, he's just so cool looking and I love it so much. He also kinda looks like a cat.. so that's a win for me. :D (maybe less than Espeon but oh well) _ 3- Espeon Easily in my top 3 even though I like Umbreon more. Love its cat like design and I just find it pretty cute. I love the history behind its design and the "third eye" concept. Espeon will always be on the top for me. :D _ 4- Vaporeon: this was kind of a hard choice, because it comes really close to my 5th place. (The 4th and 5th place keeps switching for me, but i currently like vaporeon a little more) I love its mermaid like design and how detailed vaporeon looks. Its really strong, bulky and probably would be my go to in the first pokemon games. Love this fishy looking creature! _ 5- Jolteon: this pokemon may be in the middle when it comes to my tier of eeveelutions but I still really love it. Its a really strong pick and I love its design. Jolteon looks cool and cute. :) I also really like electric types. So I still like this silly little dog a lot! _ 6- Sylveon: don't get me wrong, I love Sylveon. (It used to be my third fav eevee, but my opinion switches a lot so it moved down in my tier list.) But its just not one of my favorites. It still looks pretty cute though! And its really strong as well! _ 7- Leafeon: idk why I don't like it that much, grass types are really cool but this pokemon just never really got to me, I'm not a big fan of its design and the shiny probably looks the worst of all the eeveelutions, its just an overly saturated leafeon. Its still cute looking though. _ 8- Flareon: For the same reason I have with Leafeon to leave it down in my tier list, i don't like its design that much. Even though I like the fluffy fur around its neck. Its probably only behind Leafeon because I had more success using Leafeon competitively than Flareon. I don't hate it though but its just not one of my favorites! _ Anyway, you make amazing content! Love this video and the effort you put into it! Keep up the good work! :)

I want to mention a few cool/fun facts: Flareon: Flareon's flame should in theory be blue, since the pokedex says their flames are like 3000 Fahrenheit. Umbreon: In the Beta Version/1997 Demo Umbreon actually had Purple rings and a posion type instead of dark. They would evolve with a posion stone. (Hence the pokedex of "Sweating posion") Espeon: Espeon was originally All yellow and evolves with the heart stone in the demo. Leafeon: Lefeaon was a scrapped pokemon for Gen 2, but was re-implemented in gen 4. (The orginal gen 2 leafeon looked more Plant like, kinda more digimon or neopet then pokemon too.) All Eeveelutions have been Sp.atk based on types. (Before it was split in gen 4.) The only one they're missing is Dragon.

Red's Eevee from the manga was rescued from Team Rocket, and due to experiments upon it, could evolve back and forth at will between Flareon, Vaporeon and Jolteon. When Eevee and Red had a strong enough bond, Eevee permanently evolved into Espeon.

I remember when Sylveon was first introduced, I wasn't exactly a fan. Not cause of the pink, but it didn't feel like a natural Eeveelution. Overtime the ribbon dog-rabbit really has grown on me, as I've used one in several playthroughs, even managed to get one with Pixilate in AS I named Oberon. He was a POWERFUL unit for my team, I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Out of all the eeveeloutions, 1. Espeon. This is my favorite from all of them because of its appearance and type and loyalty (especially in gen 8) 2. Glaceon. Like its design, it is made for winter or cold climates and the attacks are cool. 3. Flareon. It can keep you warm and cozy. 4. Vaporeon. You could swim all day with it in the pool, could probably catch fish the most, it’s skin would be smooth or a little damp than fur, it can put out fires 5. Umbreon. Polar opposite to Espeon so they’d get along the most. 6. Jolteon. There are some many electric type Pokémon and plus, Joltick or Shinx would dethrone it. 7. Leafeon. Same as Jolteon but I’ve never been big on grass types; an exception is Turtwig 8. Sylveon. Same with the last two, yes it does evolve with love and patience but it just seeems like too much

Here are a few other facts about some of the Eevees: Espeon ends up being the final form of Red’s Eevee in the manga. In the manga Red’s would evolve into other forms and was able to de-evolve back to Eevee. And it finally settled on Espeon due to the close bond it has with Red. Leafeon and Glaceon have the world champ difference, as both were used to win a world championship via Wolfe Glick. He stating Leafeon being the easiest to win with and Glaceon being the hard to win with due to a poor defensive typing.

I was definitely Eevee’s demographic when Pokémon first came out. I had an Eevee plush when I was little (and a Vulpix!). I love all the evolutions, but Espeon is my favorite. I use it in every game if it’s available. I usually use Jolteon in gen 1 games.

Jolteon is my favorite Eeveelution closely followed by Espeon. Electric is my favorite Type, I love that it has the highest base speed stat of all the Eeveelutions, it’s tied as my favorite Electric Pokémon with Luxray (and Pikachu as a childhood favorite) and is one of my favorite Gen 1 Pokémon.

I never thought of Flareon having features of a Norwegian forest cat. My childhood cat is a Norwegian forest cat, maybe that'll give me more appreciation for this Pokémon... My favorite is Vaporeon for similar reasons as why you have it high in your list. I love that it has features of fish, like the fins, scales, and split tail. My top three are Vaporeon, Espeon, and Leafeon. Honestly I kind of wish they went harder on the plant inspirations for Leafeon like Vaporeon does, what if it had like a natural flower crown or something?

1. Sylveon ( I mean come on! It’s soooo cute and adorable and i remember having one on my team for X and it carried the whole time! 😂 we stan Sylveon in this household and also it’s shiny form is just as gorgeous, comfortably my second favorite behind Shiny Umbreon) 2. Umbreon (Umbreon has been a fan favorite… because one of my favorite types are Dragon and Dark type, and it looks like a black cat, and i looooove black cats!!! i have two of them 😂 it also has perhaps the best shiny out of all of the eeveelutions!) 3. Espeon (This was hard to do but I really like Espeon, nothing bad to say about it honestly, i’ve used it before and it’s great!) 4. Flareon (I’ve never had one for my team, either because I already have the fire starter, or have no use for one, regardless Flareon has always been my favorite out of the original three and looks the best out of them with the best design) 5. Vaporeon (This guy CARRIED my on a Sun play through I did and it made me have a never ending respect for Vaporeon, big ups to Vapor) 6. Leafeon ( I actually really really like this pokemon and have used one in pokemon Sun! It was very fun and I think Leafeon is very cute! so cute, and i love it’s shiny) 7. Glaceon (not a bad design, but to my knowledge just haven’t used one, i’ve never been one to pick ice type pokemon) 8. Jolteon (never appealed to me, and don’t care for its design, and the shiny is not very cool to me either)

8-6: Umbreon, Sylveon, Vaporeon. In no specific order. I just don't vibe with them. 5: Glaceon. I love the ice type, but its design is underwhelming. 4: Jolteon. It's design is so fun. Like a cat ready to pounce. 3: Flareon. I always go for the underdog, and its mane is majestic. 2: Espeon. Favorite Shiny, such a pleasant Green color. 1: Leafeon. Its design is stunning. But more then anything, when I think grass type this is what comes to mind.

Espeon being close to fire also fits how unintentionally, Blaze the Cat looks like one. My favorite Eeveelution will always be Glaceon. Beyond it being short, I always liked its tendrils, and it was my first PokéGen-'mon. It's also very geometric for an Eevee, which I love.

My wife loves Glaceon. My favourite is Umbreon. Hell, I even turned the Eevee in X and Y into one after giving it to the old man to keep him company. I didn't know he would die after defeating the Elite Four so I gave him the star piece and made a backstory that Eevee was so grief stricken at losing a friend that he forced himself to turn into an Umbreon so he would use the power of darkness so he would be able to fight and never lose anyone he cared about ever again.

If there is ever another Eevee evolution made, based on prior patterns, it will most likely be Dragon type. Every Eevee evolution that currently exists was from a type that dealt Special Attack damage in Gen 3 prior to the Physical/Special split, or in Sylveon's case, very likely would have been a Special Attack damage type if it existed in Gen 3. The only remaining Special Attack damage type left without an Eevee evolution from before the Physical/Special split is Dragon.

@Paraspectre Leafeon has an amazing moveset! It can learn. Dig Swords dance Leaf blade Thunder punch Ice punch Baton pass Iron tail Rest Protect Substitute X scissor With that high attack stat, good speed and good hp, Leafeon is an excellent pick. I personally hate ev training but you do ev train it you're set. So much potential for an attacker, setup, stall for playthroughs or competitive. Had an absolute blast using it in my recent eeveelution run of Sword.

My top 3 is basically the same as yours except Umbreon is 2nd and Flareon is 1st. I was always fascinated by fire types and a kid and when I discovered there was a fire type Eevee I instantly fell in love with it.

My rankings and reasons: Jolteon: I just really love how different it is compared to the others. Its snout is longer, more dog-like and I love dogs/dog like pokemon. Watching the episode "get a long little pokemon" really made me love the idea of it being a herding dog and the lack of tail reminds me of Australian Shepherds with their tails dock (I do not condone tail docking btw) Umbreon: I always thought Umbreon was neat. Its shiny is the best out of all the eeveelutions and I have a deep love for dark type pokemon. I always think of Umbreon as a black serval or a black hare. Its design is peak eeveelution. Leafeon: I get your reasoning why it is your least liked eeveelution and I respect that. I just love that there is a cat/fox/dog like plant pokemon. I like its design and it really gives off forest mythology vibes which I am into. The only downside for me is its shiny. I am still bitter that it's not autumn themed. It would be on my top shiny list if it was. Flareon: I really like Flareon. I wish it wasn't so nerfed competitively because it is a beautiful pokemon. I love fluffy animals and it reminds me of a mane coon/pomeranian which is such a nice mix of cat and dog. It would be one of those pampered eeveelutions you would see sleeping on the laps of their owners/trainers. Vaporeon: Vaporeon has grown on me more over the years. Its design is very obscure but in a good way. I like how it's a mix of all sorts of creatures. The play on words "cat-fish" is very clever too. Though, I can see it being a mutt of dogs, cats, aquatic mammals like dolphins and even otters. I am not that into water pokemon but Vaporeon is an exception. Espeon: I never really paid too much attention to Espeon, but it's neat and I appreciate it both in design and competitively. I like its sleek design and how it matches up well with Japanese folklore. Very opposite of Jolteon to me as of design. While Jolteon is def. more dog-like, Espeon is more cat-like. Sylveon: While I appreciate the pastel and charm, I never connected with Slyveon. Its shiny has to be the second best out of the eeveelutions though. I do think it's cute, but aesthetically it isn't my vibe. Glaceon: Well here is an unpopular opinion, but I think glaceon is boring all out. I just don't see why we needed an ice type eeveelution when Vaporeon can learn various ice moves. I don't like its design that much. If they were going for an arctic mammalian creature-look, I think it should be fluffier like an arctic fox or hare. If it maybe looked similar to Vulptices from star wars, I think it would rank higher for me. I do not hate glaceon but it just doesn't do it for me personally. Edit: I think a ghost type eeveelution would be sick. I hope there will more more eeveelutions in the future. That's all from me.

If you lose the fight in the lab against Gary, his Eevee evolves into Vaporeon. If you don't fight the rival in the early game in the route west of Viridian City, it evolves into Flareon. If you beat the rival in both cases, it evolves into Jolteon. I guess that's why most people just get Jolteon every time, I didn't know this either until pretty recently lmao

Eeveelutions so far have only been designated types originally designated as Special. You could argue Fairy resets this trend even though it probably would have been Special. I'd like to see the next one be something new like Steel or Fighting

I once did an entire playthrough of gen 6 where I had lvl1 Eevees and I nicknamed them after gems, the team was: Leafeon - Emerald Vaporeon - Sapphire Flareon - Ruby Espeon - Amethyst Jolteon - Topaz Sylveon - Rose Quartz And funnily enough, my Leafeon WRECKED with Leaf Blade🤣 I would've named Umbreon Onyx and Glaceon Diamond

One thing to note is that all of the eeveelution types are special. In gens 1-3, whether a move was physical or special depended on its type. And that included grass, ice, and yes, even dark. You could argue that Sylveon was the break-away from this formula since fairy wasn't in gens 1-3, but in all of the offensive fairy type moves, including signature moves and z/g moves, only four are physical, making it technically a special type. By this logic, it makes some sense the physical types didn't get eeveelutions, but also strange we never got a dragon type eeveelution.

Let's not forget the fact that every eeveelution so far correlates to a type that was considered to be "special" in gens 3 and below (back when the type itself defined whether an attack was special or physical), with two exceptions: fairy type that did not exist during the relevant gens (but most likely would have been a special type, if it were implemented), and dragon type (which makes the fact that Sylveon didn't have a dragon pair even more odd)

Hey, elemental lover.... I don't think that Sylveon is based on a wind elemental. I think it makes far more sense that it's based on "Sylvan'. It's related to the woods and therefor, by association, the fey. In Dungeons and Dragons Sylvan is also the language of the Fey. As in... fairies. Also, although air is my favorite element, I don't see any connections to it with Sylveon's appearance or their possible move set.

Yeah, Bulbapedia says both sylph or sylvan for its name inspiration. I took it more for Sylph, the literal air elemental but I see what you’re saying too. I think the ribbons make it seem more light and flowy like air to me.
