Why? Because those of us that know better, know that this was a PR stunt. Females jump all of the damn time during normal operations so putting a bunch of them on ONE plane, for a Hollywood jump (no equipment), in the daylight (so the pics look good) and that Captains went first out the door is ALL a PR stunt. That's why. Not taking anything away from them but this was for something that some staff officer thought up and that would pad their OER...

While I was in active duty, 3 of the units I was assigned to were Airborne units...2 of them were in the 82nd Airborne Division. I jumped with brave and amazing men and women back in 1991, and then again in 1993 as part of a Special Operations unit. This is a good jump...showing the world that the women who wear the "Double A" patch on their shoulder are just as good as the guys who wear it. Congratulations to them, and to of the brothers, and sisters of the silk. AATW!!!!!

I flew with the KC-97 KC-135 Tanker fleets and once met a C- 5 all female crew in Germany - many years ago. Females in the USAF are nothing new. They pay the dues just like we all did and they deserve our support and respect.

I did a test jump out of this bird back in the mid 90's. My unit loved me so much that they gave me the AT-4 missile pack to jump. That thing spun me like a top when I exited the bird. It's never dull day in the Double AA!

Did my first static line jump back in August of 1997. The most difficult part of the jump was trying to stuff the whole canopy back into the duffel bag after landing.😂

Parachuting is nothing more than a means to get where you going. Once down and advanced to contact, this is where one true expertise comes into play. For this, you will need the British airborne soldier. Women have proved their mettle in many things but fighting in the long term is another thing.

I am damn proud of these young women putting in a great great service for our country. It makes an old man so proud of them. However, like I said, I'm an old man and DO NOT believe in women going into real battle. It hurts my heart to think of this happening. I DO NOT believe women should face being killed in combat and will take that to my grave. The fact that they would go this far is aw-inspiring enough but please please never drop them over a real battle field. @@russellkendall7055 Jump School graduates earn the 'Parachutist Badge'. These Parachutist qualified females are assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, so they are SUPPOSED to be Paratroopers. But during my time in the 82nd, I never saw a female jump or do a helicopter insertion with a full combat load. Females were not required to do 10 actual pull-ups, but could do inclined with their feet on the ground. For the 12 mile forced march, they were usually just wearing PT clothes, athletic shoes, a 40# ruck and canteens on a smooth road or track, but not full gear on hilly dirt trails. For the most part, females are clerks, cooks, analysts, mechanics, etc.

Here in Brazil the first female paratrooper was the lieutnant Doc.Yvi in 2006 of the Medical Service Detachment of the Paratroopers Brigade where I had service as a paratrooper soldier in 1987(nowadays there are many of these amazons). Aqui no Brasil a primeira paraquedista mulher foi a tenente Yvi em 2006 do Destacamento de Saúde Paraquedista onde eu servi em 1987 (agora tem muitas destas amazonas).
