I studied in a Govt school . When I went to the college, I was unable to understand the subjects properly. But I have determined to improve my English and I took the aid of almost all classic novels and folk stories in English literature available in the college library and read those , referring the meaning and phonetics of new words in dictionary. Certain conversation dialogues in the novels , I used to repeat aloud too.. Trust me , when I completed my UG from the college , my vocabulary improved tremendously and I was able to speak and write in English better than those who studied in English medium schools . Now , I am working in one among the top companies in the World .

My father studied in such a small school that one year due to renovation work they had to conduct classes in the family room of a hotel. Yet my father topped the boards n university exams. My father always believed in quality education. He always told me that a child studying under a street lamp and a child sitting in an AC room will ultimately pick up knowledge according to their abilities. The environment does not matter. My husband also studied a government school, lost his father at young age n studied with help of scholarships. I have learnt from both my father n my husband that ultimately it's the quality of education which matters. Anyone can learn English but evaluating the quality of the teachers n how they teach the students is what matters.

നല്ല content.. ഞാൻ ഒരു aided school teacher ആണ്. English Medium ക്ലാസ്സിൽ.. 1st standard ൽ ആയിരുന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞ കൊല്ലം.. അന്ന് എന്റെ ക്ലാസ്സിലെ ഒരു കുട്ടി ജൂണിൽ ക്ലാസ്സ്‌ തുടങ്ങി കഴിഞ്ഞ് രണ്ടു മൂന്ന് ദിവസം ആയപ്പോൾ MIC English മീഡിയം സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് TC വാങ്ങി പോയി.. ഞാൻ ആവുന്നത് പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പൊ അവർ പറഞ്ഞ കാരണം മൂത്ത കുട്ടി കൊറോണകാലത്തു ഒന്നും പഠിക്കാതെ വന്നപ്പോൾ MIC യിൽ കൊണ്ടു പോയി ചേർത്തു.. ഇപ്പൊ അവൻ ഇവനെ നിർബന്ധിച്ചു mic ക്ക്‌ ആക്കാണ് എന്നായിരുന്നു.. പിന്നെ ഞാൻ അവർ അങ്ങനെ പോട്ടെ എന്ന് വിചാരിച്ചു.. പോയ കുട്ടിയുടെ ഉപ്പാന്റെ അനിയന്റെ കുട്ടിയും എന്റെ ക്ലാസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൾ കൂടി പോകുമോ എന്ന് ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.. പക്ഷെ ആ കുട്ടിയുടെ ഉപ്പ നമുക്ക് ഇവിടെ മതി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു നിന്നു.. ഏതാനും മാസങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോ എന്റെ ക്ലാസ്സിലുള്ള ഈ കുട്ടിയുടെ ഉമ്മ എന്നെ വിളിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.. Average ആയിരുന്ന എന്റെ കുട്ടി ഇപ്പൊ എല്ലാ വിഷയങ്ങളിലും മുന്നിൽ എത്തി. അവൾ ഇപ്പൊ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് കഥകൾ ഒക്കെ വായിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി..ചെറിയ ചെറിയ sentence ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ പഠിച്ചു എന്നൊക്കെ.. കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പോയ കുട്ടിയുടെ ഉമ്മ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യങ്ങളും പറഞ്ഞു.. അവൻ ഇപ്പഴും ഒക്കെ തപ്പി തടഞ്ഞു വായിക്കുന്നേ ഉള്ളു.വലിയ പഠിത്തം ഒന്നും ഇല്ല.. ഇവൾക്ക്‌ ഇതൊക്കെ വായിക്കാൻ അറിയുമോ എന്നൊക്കെ ആശ്ചര്യത്തോടെ ചോദിച്ചു എന്ന്.. 😇എനിക്ക് മാനസികമായി ഒരുപാട് സന്തോഷം തോന്നി.. എവിടെയായാലും കുട്ടികൾ നന്നായി പഠിക്കൽ, അധ്യാപകർ നന്നായി പഠിപ്പിക്കൽ, രക്ഷിതാക്കൾ നന്നായി ശ്രദ്ധിക്കൽ.. ഇത് മൂന്നും കൂടി ചേരുമ്പോഴേ നിലവാരം മെച്ചപ്പെടുകയുള്ളു.. പിന്നെ govt / aided സ്കൂളിൽ വെറുതെ ആണ് കുട്ടികളെ ചേർക്കുന്നത് അധ്യാപകര് ഒന്നും ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല എന്ന തെറ്റ്ധാരണ പലർക്കും ഉണ്ട്.. ചിലർ അങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടാവുമെന്ന് വിചാരിച് എല്ലാവരും എല്ലാ സ്കൂളും അങ്ങനെ ആവണമെന്നില്ലല്ലോ 😇😇

Sometimes studying in the english medium school may not necessarily mean we can speak good english. I studied in one but i know many students from that same school and others who can't even speak a sentence properly. On the other hand i know many students from state school who handles English like a pro. The difference i noticed is thier hobbies.the students who speaks good English are majority a good readers so ithink whats important is to let our children ex plore the world of reading rather tha sending to an expensive school which we can't afford
