Parents Defending Education's Alex Nester says K-12 schools must find 'root causes' for antisemitism

Political Director of Parents Defending Education Alex Nester joined The National Desk Thursday evening to discuss how the leaders asked to testify handled the questioning thrown their way.
Nester said solving the problem will take work and that the "main causes" at the school district level must be rooted out, despite her belief that the hearing was a step in the right direction. She mentioned a push for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and curriculum or lessons that "teach people to separate one another by race," as potential causes.

Follow the money- Endowments, tuition fees, research grants, alumni donations and other revenue streams contribute towards financial stability and support their educational aims. As of the 2021/22 academic year, Ivy League institutions generated $40.61 billion in total revenue. The federal government provides enormous subsidies to the wealthiest universities by paying “overhead” on research grants. Ivy League universities received $1.8 billion for government-funded research grants despite having $192 billion in endowment funds. Universities take taxpayer grants, endowments, and tuition, and invest it in weapons companies. These weapon companies give HUGE donations to POLITICIANS. The universities then take the BILLIONS of profits and give them to countries like Israel that then uses the money to buy weapons from those same weapons companies who then GIVE MORE donations to POLITICIANS. This is why ALL these America POLITICIANS are smearing ANYONE that recommends divestment. They don’t care who dies so long as the money keeps rolling.

The crime problem is caused by the Behavioral Modificiation Program that REPLACED the Acedemic Program in Public Schools in the 1980's. After the Behavioral Modification Program became the base for public school education the school "mass" shootings started. The public school system is rotten and if you give your children to them for psychological warfare, 5 days a week 10 months a year, for 12 years...your kid is going to be a mess. When there is sexual miscondict in the school, the perpetrator gets moved to another school and the parents are shut down with a threat of legal warfare or by signing an agreement they will not talk about the sexual abuse. I can go on about the public schools...but you can be a good parent but if you are taking a big gamble sending your child to a public school.

School was the ruin of my life, I wouldn't say I was tortured but ... well yes I would say that and done some myself, in hindsight though, it was the ruin of my life. Back then it was illegal for kids not to go to school and the parents could be fined and go to jail. Some people are not socially acceptable and shouldn't have to suffer that thrown to the wolves type mentality. School isn't anything but a learning how to socialize and some kids have no interest and shouldn't be forced, especially when "learning" is the supposedly reason for it all.

I actually disagree. I think it should be taught in schools because kids growing up should learn why the world is the way it is and they can be future leaders in writing a new history. I never understood the point of wiping it completely and not teaching it in the classroom because in the real world they will teach you regardless. It’s almost wanting to be completely blissfully ignorant and unaware of the world around you which is a total disadvantage.

Teaching about racism in this country certainly falls within the purview of the schools. Whether it is the long history of antisemitism, Jim Crow, the Atlantic Slave Trade or the anti-Chinese laws passed in the late 1800s. And then on to how that it is ultimately unamerican, dangerous and wrong, sure. But there is no single root cause. Racism has economic, political and social causes. So while the schools can teach the history and focus on the causes, I think it only works if parents are the main reason their children are educated on these facts. Parents these days are often too quick to push all these things onto the education system. If they can't take the lead here it makes the school's job much more difficult. There is no magical 'silver bullet' to this issue and that's why I see these hearings in front of Congress as more as performance politics and outright hypocrisy as many of these politicians are the same ones who want to get rid of the Department of Education and cut monies to public education.
