quick story time: when me and my sisters were like 5-9 when we went to bed. My dad would eat the cookies and drink the milk. Then he would put fake reindeer poop outside. and he would also put on his work boots and walk on the roof to make it seem that Santa was about to come down the chimney he made it felt so real!

This is why I never did Santa with my kids. I felt awful when I found out he wasn’t real the day I saw my “santa” presents. So I decided that I just didn’t want to lie to my kids. I did teach them that it was important that they do not ruin it for other kids, because I respect other parents decision to do the Santa thing. I have teens now and have never felt like I broke their trust.

I honestly don't understand why kids are told that Santa is real to begin with. As a parent, don't you want your kids to be thankful towards you instead of an imaginary fat old man for their presents? Also, you have to crush their childhood by telling them that Santa isn't real once they reach a certain age (as shown here in this video). It's a lose-lose situation.

Most people don't have their parents tell them (At least I didn't). They realize over time how the idea of Santa is illogical and he isn't real. However santa I feel like brings a lot more excitement for kids during Christmas time. For me the thought of a magical man making and bring me toys each year made Christmas way more exciting and I received gifts from my parents and Santa* but always were more excited to open up his presents for some reason. After learning the truth you become more thankful towards your parents and honestly probably at a better time (In your teen years when you often hate them and want them to leave you alone)

Eris Shiner thinking that Santa was real brought more enjoyment to Christmas as a child for me. the thought of someone working in a factory in the North Pole, then delivering all the presents to the world in one night, leaving out milk and biscuits waking up to see them gone in the morning then my parents seeing the excitement on my face opening the gifts santa left was the best thing a parent could ask for. As you grow up you start to realise that santa isn't real yeah of course it's gonna crush your childhood, but not for long cause you remember the memories and how much happiness there was😄 But Alg I respect that everyone has diferent beliefs 😊
